While 280 doesn't seem like much, keep in mind the beetle put out like 35 horsepower, a cooper s put out about 57 horsepower. A contemporary Ferrari was sitting around 300hp in race trim.

150hp from 8 liters and 150hp from 2 liters feel completely different. That V8 could rip a Twingo in half at idle with it's glorious low end cruising torque.

1963 is my favorite model year for American cars. I love muscle cars and stuff but I just love early 60s land yachts with their straight lines and plain design. Late 50s cars are too crazy looking and late 60s cars replaced class with cool
