If money was no object, what 1960's car would you restore and swap a new engine into?

A Triumph TR5.

>Gt40
>ECOBOOST-six

good choice. I have a tr6 that I often wonder if a bmw m30 would fit.

68 charger, obviously

Corvair. Because sub 2800lb mid engined V8.

Probably a Lincoln or Cadillac. Swap something reliable and just cruise it. Cars from the 60s are never going to be fast with just an engine swap, just dangerous.

I would still love to do an old Trans Am or something where they completely rebuild them with modern suspensions. Falken has posted some cool ones.

>classic 911
>RUF bodykit
>997 GT2 RS drivetrain
I-I'm not suicidal, I swear...

The magic bus, man

this desu

A valiant would be cool

Skyline GTR is my favorite 60's car though

'69 El Camino SS

Mercedes-Benz 600 with a M279

1969 Torino. The only good thing to come from Ford.

Are early 70's cars gud too? because in that case I'd choose an RX-2 coupe or wagon with a built NA FD engine. An original Cosmo would be nice too but I prefer the chibi-muscle styling of the RX-2 and RX-3

>that simultaneously mean and yet adorable design

that car steve urkel drove

If we're posting mini-muscle...

2cute

Imagine one of these with a Voodoo or Coyote.

lol wat

itd be fun to do a early 60's falcon with a coyote

This, although I'd go with a falcon sprint because i like the styling a bit more.

>Swap a new engine into
But why?

C2 vette
Coyote to be hurr different but most likely a LS7 or something

69 barracuda

'67 Galaxie 500 Fastback with a Voodoo

>not wanting a 69' for the cooler tail lights

>not 20b/26b swapping it
user bls

A cobra, and I'd throw in the engine from a Shelby 1000

How much butt hurt would this cause?

Not as much as a Coyote

2000gtr

>not swapping an ez36 into it

wat, 68 has much better taillights whiuch is specifically why I want it

Its not 60's, but a 1950's Chrysler Town and Country.

I'd swap in a 392 HEMI

66 Coronet

It would keep the car somewhat more original but a V8 is better in every way possible.

You posted it, except I wouldn't swap in an engine, just keep it original.

67 dodge dart

...

Can't say I would swap any new engine wise into it.

Probably use the factory Studebaker V8 and add a single turbo charger to it, fuel injection, 4spd gearbox with one of them gear vendors overdrive units.

1969 fairlady z
SR20DE so I can beat on the rev limiter safely.

1961 or '62 Pontiac Tempest with corresponding Buick Special body panels. It had IRS and a transaxle (earlier than the Corvette), and the relatively modern Rover/Land Rover/TVR V8 is an evolution of the short lived optional Buick 215 (aluminium also earlier than the Corvette) and should more or less bolt right in. It's also no bigger than a modern Mustang and weighs in at 2800 to just under 3000 lbs. 350 whp in a 3000 lbs car would be NEAT.

Might deserve a bump.

my nigga

>not wanting a 60's 426 Hemi

someday i will get my gto in order

It's hard as shit to do this swap.
t. Corvair owner.

why are they always missing the fucking nose piece

and they always cost a fuckload

I just want a pinto, is that too much to ask?

Instead of the engine swap I'd work on its other flaws

>60s
Is early 70s close enough?

That's an 80s car.

It would be hard to make it look good. It wouldn't be too bad if you got some welding and fabricating skills and a lot of time and money.

A guy in my neighborhood has a Corv8. It's pretty much just a big 'ol V8 in the back seat with a roll cage. It looks rough but badass.

68 is under appreciated desu

'69 Mercury Cougar Eliminator
Coyote swapped of course.

Probably a 69 Transam with a cross ram being fed by some double pumpers.

If it was any year it would be a Plymouth Road Runner with an LS7, the wing off a Superbird, Jag rear end, discs all round, and active aero built into the fuck huge wing.
