Go to fix something on your car

>go to fix something on your car
>break a bunch of plastic clips in the process

I pretend it gives the car character.

congrats. you are now a certified zip tie technician.

>tfw my low beam bulb is held in place by the rubber gasket because the fucking clip broke

>snap a clip taking something apart in my car
>hello darkness my old friend
>"why the fuck didn't the walkthrough show that clip"
>go and check the walkthrough pictures someone posted
>see that they broke the clip too

dumbass learn to remove clips properly

Makes me wonder why some parts are held on my both screws and clips. JUST PICK ONE.

>Have to change a tire since one is flat
>Car has hubcaps
>manage to break more than 50% of the clips off
>hubcap screw becomes loose
>months pass and it's still on
>Driving over a bridge one night
>hubcap is making a ruckus as usual
>suddenly there isn't a ruckus sound
>get out later, see that there isn't a hubcap anymore
>mfw I realize that I lost a hubcap on a bridge.

>go to change spark plugs
>spark plug shatters in the hole
T-thanks Ford...

>go to fix something on my aw11
>every interior piece is held on by 10mm/phillips head screws
feelsgood

>having hubcaps

One does not simply remove GM clips without them breaking.

this
wear your steelies with pride you little bitch

>dumbass learn to remove clips properly
Some clips are one-use types. So if you do manage to take it off and re-use the clip, then you are lucky. Otherwise, you need to contact either the dealer parts department for a bag of clips, or your NAPA/RockAuto for clips.

My car has like 6 types of clips so it is obnoxious to stock all of them. Conic one-ways. Pine-tree one-ways. Ball and socket multi-use. Split shank possibly multi-use (really only one use since the sharp edge gets rounded when extracted). Etc.

don't work on your shit it in the cold

lesson learned

>dealership lube tech
>have massive supply of clips on-hand
>only replace them 30% of the time even if i didnt break them

Honestly, if you're serious about modding your car's interior you should stock up on plastic clips beforehand. If you're doing a $800 mod on the car at least spend $34 ahead of time for all the possible fasteners.

This is me on a daily basis for the past two weeks at work and at home.
NB Miata story
>find time to finally install 3" lift because winter and lol
>lug nuts seized to lugs
>split two (and I've only bothered with the rear so far)
>drive all over city collecting lugs and lug nuts
>install lift brackets
>install new lugs
>put wheels on
>car now has speed- and load-dependant clunk from left rear (maybe)
>install more new lugs nuts because what I bought was rounded, what I needed was 60-degree cone
>clunk still there
>maybe wheel bearing
>takes 6 days to loosen outer LCA bolt by use of PBlaster, heat, and impact gun
>bearing doesn't budge with lots of hammering and heat
>find machine shop after finally getting knuckle off car
>bearing gives press some trouble, but does get old bearing out and new in
>reinstall everything with anti-seize on all the bolts
>partially crossthread brake caliper bolts
>fixed by running bolts in from the other side to gently reset threads
>reassemble everything
>clunk still there
>CV axles and driveshaft seem tight
>diff lash is normal
>car has major rattle from cat heat shielding when cold
>car develops misfire for a while when nearly to temperature and for a while after
>waiting for 3 months on bonded title process for truck
>can't win
>almost no money left in bank account
>my two CCs are dangerously high
>have to drive 1100 miles each way to see mother for Christmas
>accidentally took phone in no-phone area yesterday
>got it back but have to talk to big boss and give a briefing to coworkers later
I'm such a fuckup.

Pull yourself together m8

Came with the car, plus I don't want to look like I live in the Ghetto.

>go to fix something on my car
>most of the clips in that area are ALREADY FUCKING GONE
God fucking damn I do not want zip ties all over my front clip AGAIN. What the fuck is the point of restomodding if I still have zip ties sticking out of the grill?

>fix something in car
>check engine light comes on

>I don't think this screw is tight enough
>strip screw head
>oops.jpg

I-it's okay I won't have to touch this for another six months

>check engine light comes on
>clear it
>few days later it comes back
>replace sensor causing the code
>comes back immediately
>smell burning electronics behind dash
