Why?

why would ford use pistons that crack, when hot, on their trucks, like a 6.4 diesel f250.
did they not think that these trucks would be used and abused?

also, does anyone make drop in replacement pistons out of steel for a 2008 f250 xlt 4wd 6.4 turbo diesel?

Just go to FTE

>why?
Ford

what's that?

I believe the 1999 powerstroke had forged internals.

Ford's Transexual Establishment

...

oh

It's the Ford truck enthusiasts forum

Because the DPF and the way it goes through a regen. It dumps fuel in the #7 cylinder to raise the EGTs hot enough to burn out the DPF. Get rid of that piece of shit and you won't have any problems.

He's talking about brakes

thanks

this is true but i was saying this

They are a spare parts company, sell shit cheap make a profit on fixing it and replacement parts.

Ford a shit anyway. The father of my gf has a painting & carpentry company with multiple Ford Transits. Over the last 12 years he had 4 of them with a failed valve spring which caused the piston to slam into the valve and demolish the engine. His mechanic also said they see that more often with Transits

It's an I know more than the mechanical engineers at ford episode

7.3 powerstroke has perfectly fine pistons.

Should buy old Volvos, non-interference valves yo

Chrysler does the same shit.

>replacing rotors on buddy's '05 Dakota
>putting calipers back on
>C-clamp drags a tiny bit on lip of piston
>snap
>full quarter of the piston breaks off
>OH COME THE FUCK ON IT BARELY TOUCHED

At least the replacement caliper had an aluminum piston

As are Suzukis and Toyota FE engines.

Yea but Volvos don't rust out in a decade

> '82 Volvo has less rust than a '01 Toyota
> Toyota has rust sealing out of literally every seam

Come to where I live m8
>'64 Ford has no rust
>'79 Toyota pickup has no rust
