ah yeah you use high excesses, i prefer to keep them well below 1000, usually 400-700. I think on 1000 it went down to 1200.

i shopped around hard, i was getting shit like 3k for comprehensive and even worse, aami was the kindest.

My excess now is $1000 and its miles cheaper compared to a higher excess with aami which should've been cheaper but wasn't.

I very little to no interest in getting a job through my degree, realised I'd much rather a career in the automotive industry. Professional job market in my field is also fucked.
I've been browsing mechanic apprenticeships, they talk about it suiting school leavers etc.
I'm 22 and have heard that they often won't take on older people due to having to pay higher than an 18 year old, Is this true or am I fucked and it's too late to pick up a trade.

I work at a call centre 24/hr weekday and 28 weekend. Easy to get commision and bonuses. last fortnight i got 1140 for 42 hrs work before tax. The pay is great but the job does my head in, I'd rather earn much less than that as an apprentice but be physically active and do something i'm passionate about.

Go for a pro job in that mate. I worked as a tradie mechanic and it's the least respected and most poorly paid trade of all. Plus every cunt customer thinks you're trying to rip them off if something is expensive. I got out after a workplace injury and a coworker telling me how shit the trade can be.

I still work on my own cars, that will never not be comfy and fun.

I'd stay away from the automotive field unless you're planning on starting your own shop later on down the track. Even then it's going to be dicey because of self driving cars, EVs, and everything becoming more and more dealer oriented.

Seems that way. Went to Adelaide myself earlier in the year for work. Supermarkets close at like, 5PM on Saturdays, open for four hours or so on Sundays, everything else is pretty much closed on the weekend.
