I had to take the bus to and from work for about 3 months before I had my truck again when it was sitting in another state.

My commute took an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes every day. Then I got my vehicle and the commute went to 15 minutes. At the time I was making about 12 dollar an hour, that's maths out to a little over 6 grand a year of time spent sitting. Multiply that by all the people you are disenfranchising by forcing them to drive the bus, and you end up with a massive loss.

Also you're pretty dumb for assuming that you can just build up the infrastructure to have public transportation in most rural areas. That would cost an absurd amount. If it was feasible, it would have been done already
