So will the switch to Lumberyard improve performance?

Pirate Cat best Cat.

Why the fuck is the game sending wings of mostly harmless eagles against me when I'm in an A-rated corvette?

I heard the inside was a different color. I like the natural green.

with networking, supposedly.

To make you feel like a big scary man

For 3.0 and beyond Lumberyard should remove lots of the server/network bottlenecks that currently hammer client performance.

What ever happened to the Redeemer?

Is it getting scrapped and were getting refunds?

It's definitely in need of a serious redesign.

Yup. The puke-green is replaced with red as the accent colour. I like it a lot more than the Covalex Cat.

I dunno man, it doesn't seem as comfy.

>Ok, so I can't fuck up and spend my actual UEC in any way except on Voyager Direct.

Yes and I highly recommend to holding on to your shekels.

>Any money I make or spend in the PU will be aUEC.

Yes and will be wiped between patches along with anything you have bought with it.

>REC is made in AC and spent on EA.
Yes

>Items purchased with REC are only available in AC.

No, items you rent will be also available in the PU (Crusader).

It's going to be awesome. Remember that small backdoor on the upper floor between shitter and shower ? rover entrance!

Current Redeemer model is pretty much a 3D concept, it needs completely rebuilding to work with damage states and to be up to new CIG standards.

It's funny that it was the winning entry, but Paul is being given ships like the 85X after making the universally despised Vanguard. Elwin, another TNGS hire, was one of the main people making the motherfucking Caterpillar.

The red struts frustrate me severely. The more earthen colors fit better.

Better than puke green. Besides, I'm not a corporate whore. Fuck Covalex.

When SC gets to a state of something like 4.0 or 5.0 (very far from now), I wish to dedicate myself to destroying vanduul ships. It's my calling. I'll join an org determined to kill them constantly in the real PU

Which gunship was Elwin involved in?

Alright guys, let's talk 325A loadouts.

I've spent about 6 hours in AC with the stock load out now, and I'd like to start experimenting with different load-outs.

What's a good S2 to replace the stock fixed wing lasers with? I'd like something with a little higher ROF than the stock lasers.

Also, opinions on leaving a high damage per shot S2 weapon on a gimbal for the front as a sniping / finishing / opportunistic weapons versus just stripping the gimbal off and putting a fixed S3 with similar muzzle velocity to my 2 x S2 mounts to maximize alpha?

I have a stick, but I've always been shit with it so I generally only use it in single player games. So, I'll probably be using mouse control.

I've been doing most of my fighting with the fixed lasers which has been easy enough with the mouse (coming from War Thunder). I'll switch over to the gimbal'd mass driver for long range sniping, punching additional holes when shields down, or to squeeze a shot or two in when I can't quite get the fixed lasers on target.

Seems autistic. Why?

I was so fucking hyped for the Buccaneer before they revealed the concept.

It looks cool, but I was hoping for the Drake equivalent of the 300i or Avenger. Something with a cramped interior space for long range loitering.

I don't remember the team name, but I'm quite sure he was the dude who was working alone, but still managed to deliver higher quality than the other teams.

Actually now that I think about it, he was team Skyguard iirc.

>there are people who wouldn't want to be in an organized effort to take this son of a bitch down

Why even play this game at all

I love the challenge they pose

Sounds like Pitchfork is right up your alley: their goal is to take back and hold former UEE systems that the Vanduul have occupied.

I was looking forward to a replacement for the bloated Cutlass, which also didn't happen. Buccaneer turned into a pure fighter, which it will probably be pretty good at. It's geared up to be a decent short ranger, though.

I can't remember what it was called but it was a bit like a futuristic AC-130, with a turret on top. Concept was cool but very space-plane-y.

The model was very high quality but he couldn't keep up with the others because he was on his own. I don't think that the interior was finished.

Ultimate TNGS would have been Boomslang exterior with Redeemer-like interior, modelled by Elwin plus Shimapan guys.

stop promoting reddit here

If only CIG would give us this level of FOV as default the game would stop feeling like a console shit-tier shooter.

Honestly that seems like the kind of ship that should be most common. Single crew ships with small, comfy interiors and a little bit of cargo space that are well suited to solo adventurers.

Oddly enough, it's also the most neglected ship category out there with pretty much only the 300 series and Avenger having the right mix of capabilities.

I don't want a pure fighter, I don't want a ship that requires a second crew member to be 100% utilized, and I don't want a specialist ship.

Looks alright, Brutus was my favorite though.

Is this mostly an ED or SC general? Not sure what to invest in

Holy fuck look at this shit in game

youtube.com/watch?v=JlGed0BpAfw

I dunno, man, the exterior of the COVALEX Caterpillar fucking sucks due to the advertisement for an in-game shipping company, but the interior green feels better to me. Opinions, though.

>Buccaneer turned into a pure fighter, which it will probably be pretty good at.

It reeks of NPC fodder to me, for Super Hornet pilots to mow through while they stroke their micropenis.

It's got a very odd mix of guns and if the Herald is any indication it will have zero flexibility on missiles. Cockpit view looks good and I'm sure it will be fast, but I think that between the Hornet, Gladius and Sabre this niche is already covered.

Been playing for months like this, m8.

Fair enough. The red accent colour made me a lot more aware of the interior though for some reason.

Just got SC, the download apparently has 0.27KB left, and it won't finish. Any ideas what might be wrong?

SC. ED is RIP beyond fixing. SC still has hope. See OP for details on either: note that SC has plenty more in the way of updates and videos. That's not coincidence.

I want to solo that thing. Maybe there is a moment of vulnerability when it is parked, or you can cheese it with Stealth and EMP, but I want to take it down by myself with nothing but a pistol, a knife, and what I take from the dead.

It's a bug.

DO NOT restart your launcher.

Use a VPN to finish the download, the free one that CIG recommends is tunnelbear.

Are there any large ships coming in 3.0? I'm a size queen.

I know about pitchfork, but that's at the end of the beta. I plan to do it as a full time career if possible.

too bad the displays are microscopic if you do this

If that doesn't work, just open up installdirectory\Cloud Imperium Games\Star Citizen\Public\Bin64 and run StarCitizen.exe manually.

where's this image from?

I think the constellation aquila? I'm not sure, but the largest ships we currently have are the Caterpillar, Starfarer, Retaliator, and consellation andromeda.

And I thought I was autistic in thinking that a dedicated group of orgmates would be able to take it down. Then I found you.

They removed FOV options in 2.6, m8

Scroll down, each patch adds a few more

Look at , there's definitely a happy middle-ground

For the plebs they did, yes

I'm not dumb enough to do it, I just want to try.

What do you mean

I mean there is still a way to change it

Will trade anime ships for FOV secrets

What are some good weapons to slap on a freelancer? I got some REC and I'm not sure what to spend it on.

Sorry but I can't risk my #842 leaderboard ranking by sharing trade secrets

>caring about a mediocre leaderboard ranking in an alpha game

Tarantulas.

I call shenanigans

literally top 1% of citizens. Feels good being elite.

>literal flab folds
>fucking man face

Is this the "40 year old motel hooker" look?

make a user.cfg file and add cl_fov = 75 (or whatever number you like)

Thats the pleb method that got locked out

This would be fine if they'd swapped out all the greens for reds but it seems like every surface that's not red or yellow has a green tint still. Maybe it's just my eyes.

I will find you.

I'm a careful man, I didn't mention what mode

SS and timestamp your post. When PU goes gold in 5 years or however long it's going to take, I'll help you track down and serial murder him if he doesn't share his secret.

We'll get every single 842 in every mode if that's what it takes. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words.

Luckily, I can see you coming thanks to my >90 degree FoV

Write down all their names. I'll need something to do once the universe goes live anyway, and having a kill list and partner sounds like a fun way to get started. It'll be our personal quest. You for perceived slights against you, me for profit.

Dropped

You better prepare for the storm, maggot.

God damn it

what is this, the canopy and hud are completely different from what we have now, is that in the most recent german mag?

here you go familia

Now find me some delicious Caterpillar Onee-sama.

Well there is that vanduul scrap hanger decoration which loosely implies that there might be a good market for vanduul trophies.

No this was a render by one of those CryEngine fags on plebbit. Probably using a really old Gladius model or some shit but not anything relevant. It just shows how cool the game would look with a decent fucking FOV.

>Found out that your trick to change FoV also got hit between 2.6 builds without knowing
>Enouraged some anons to kill some shitters with leaderboard positions hundreds of places below you

mixed bag of a day

>tfw too intelligent to believe ruses without proofs

Is this in spectrum?

No.

How do I access spectrum?

ptu.cloudimperiumgames.com/spectrum

nice blog

I was kind of hoping CIG would create some kind of "guns for hire" system. Obviously the UEE needs whatever help they can get fighting back the vanduul, so maybe they'd pay people certain amounts of UEC for killing certain amounts of vanduul, with escalating amounts for larger targets (a single soldier is pennies, and a capital ship is a boatload of money,at the price of them being hard to kill). Through being an autist and reading the lore, apparently there's a place on Selene (Vega II) in Vega called the children of Orion who do just that: go into vanduul space, kill some, then come back for pay.

I don't really expect some ultra complicated system for it. I just want to hunt large vanduul ships like their bombers, whatever frigate they might get, etc with some kind of return.

If not that, I'd gladly take up missions to destroy rebel groups on planets or something.

What makes a tarantula better than a Mantis GT-220? Any advice on missiles?

>tl;dr Mercenary System

>What makes a tarantula better than a Mantis GT-220?

Better accuracy, no windup time, high damage per shot. More efficient overall.

Right now laser cannons are pretty good, so maybe try the M5A's.

>Any advice on missiles?

No idea what the Freelancer gets but S1 missiles are garbage, might as well use Marksman. Best S2 missiles are Tempest and Dominator. Not tried all of the S3 missiles but the Arresters are very, very good.

I don't think spectrum is available to you unless you had access to PTU

Yeah, but for Vanduul.

It's a skill cannon. A few volleys will kill an SH. The mantises are fine, but they run out of ammo fairly quickly, and you're likely to miss most shots. If not the Tarantulas, get the C - 227 repeaters. Never run out of ammo. Overall energy weapons are your best bet, but for AC Tarantulas are bomb

>my #842 leaderboard ranking
Aimbots are being used in Star Marine, and exploiters are at the top of Arena Commander.

Stop caring.

is it just me or is the shotgun total shit? maybe it's a lag thing but I get 3 good hits on people and they turn around and headshot me with their AR.

Lag. I've had shotgun users blast me in one shot.

Lasers > Ballistics

figures, shotguns often have that problem in online games.

The PTU is completely open to all backers now. I think the 2.6 PTU testers had a client version of Spectrum to test out or something, but the version right now is just the web-version on the PTU site which any backer can copy his account to to try it out.

No it's not just you.

1) Energy shotguns 900 years in the future still require a pump action mechanic, because TACTICOOL SHOTGUN.

2) Point blank missing with shotgun is not bullshit 'because reasons'.

3) Aimbot shitters bypass the 5-6 second TTK and simply go for head shots.

4) Bypass armor all together by shooting people from behind, because armor 900 years in the future doesn't apply to your back, only chest and legs because MUH SPACE MARINE.

Poor design decisions, and hardly any weapon balance has been tweaked since they basically released it a few days ago over Christmas.

Odd. I had to copy the PTU password I was given to keep accessing spectrum.

Hey there shitter user, didn't get enough ridicule yesterday?
