What's the point of having license limits for motorcycles?
>guy becomes 18 years old with a car drivers license. >can immediately buy a Ferrari >no problem
Now with motorcycles:
>yeah, A1 to ride motorcycles up to 125cc! Can't trust you with anything larger! >oh you want to ride a 1200cc BMW motorcycle? Nope, please take this special license for it!
Why? Just fucking why?
Nicholas Cruz
Because the Ferrari is a million dollars and you can get a liter bike for a grand on craigslist.
It's also a much faster way to kill yourself.
Gabriel Wood
You know why, and yes, it works, and no, we don't care that you're Valentino Rossi reincarnated because no, laws doesn't exist to specifically annoy you because believe it or not, you are not the center of the universe, and no, teens aren't flocking into Ferrari showrooms.
Gavin Watson
The tiered licensing you find in Europe is a direct result of putting liberals in charge. They impose their invasive "let me protect you from yourself" agenda on the population while lining their own pockets and ultimately diminishing the liberties of citizens.
Like you said, there is nothing stopping an individual from buying a car and ramming it into a crowd of people but somehow they feel the need to regulate motorcycles which are statistically shown to virtually injure no one but the rider themselves
Adam Brooks
places that hate motor bikes hate sports cars too its just a knock on effect
Austin Brooks
The issue is that Veeky Forums is virtually the only place that thinks "well if he only kills himself what's the problem" is an acceptable mode of thinking, so of course their logic seems alien to you. I'm sure that single-rider accident won't cost 10k or more in supplies, property damage and man-hours regardless of the number of victims.
So yeah, tell it to the guy who has to scrape a pasted teenager off the blacktop.
Bentley Bennett
>You know why, and yes, it works, and no, we don't care that you're Valentino Rossi reincarnated because no, laws doesn't exist to specifically annoy you because believe it or not, you are not the center of the universe, and no, teens aren't flocking into Ferrari showrooms. QFT

fast motorcycles are way more accessible than fast cars
William Sanders
>a very fast motorcycle is about the same price as a shitbox hatchback >those who choose to ride a motorcycle are inherently less risk averse than those who choose not to >motorcycles are significantly easier to crash >motorcycles are significantly harder for other road users to account for >motorcycles require a greater degree of skill to ride in every day conditions than cars >as the capabilities of a motorcycle increase, the level of skill required increases, whereas for cars this does not apply
Noah Russell
We have them on Cars in Shitaly
Ian Diaz
We have no license limits here in 'merica
Wyatt Carter
If you're gonna nanny me OP, you can at least make me lunch
Kayden Rodriguez
People willingly smoke cigarettes to the point of getting cancer and kill only themselves, and people over eat to the point of heart failure and kill themselves, and those are allowed behaviors,
Both cost just as much to treat as a single motorcycle accident.
Caleb Rivera
You obviously aren't very aware of how the world works.
Lucas Long
There's already enough retarded cunt bikers on the road, we don't need more of them.
Christian Bennett
>tfw I could have taken a motorcycle permit test at 16 on a hayabusa Thank God for burger
Wyatt Turner
A bunch of politicians who knew nothing about motorcycles decides to make and agree on laws they believed would stop those "dangerous" things
Juan Wood
>can't rebut >no you just don't know how anything workat
Jace Hughes
Yeah, and they're completely uncomparable. One is a health problem over a long time. The other directly impedes traffic and costs my tax dollars to fix.
There is not a teenager on this planet that should be on a literbike. None.
Ethan Rodriguez
>The issue is that Veeky Forums is virtually the only place that thinks "well if he only kills himself what's the problem" is an acceptable mode of thinking
So Libertarians only exist on Veeky Forums now? I bet you're one of those people that think it's excessive to retaliate against a knife robber by shooting him in the head
Brandon Bennett
>he has to pay for other people's healthcare
David Diaz
>people being obese should be illegal >teenagers who can barely drive a car, let alone a motorcycle should be allowed to zip through city traffic at 120 mph
Noah Cook
Because most teenagers can't be trusted with powerful vehicles. Test out of their bracket and prove that you don't have ADHD and have some semblance of self control.
Adrian Sanders
Ok, I'll bite.
First of all, obesity and smoking are issues that are busy being tackled in order to reduce the appeal of both. A prime example of this is forced identical packaging for tobacco. Despite this, these occur as a result of personal behavioural traits that are significantly more difficult to legislate out than it is to preemptively stop a 17 year old getting a superbike and getting in an accident.
Ban smoking and obesity and you create a black market that is over time ultimately more destructive and costly than it is to slowly introduce legislation that reduces the appeal of such behaviour and stops it organically.
Inversely, banning 17 year olds from riding motorcycles does none of that, and possibly the only people who could moan about it are 17 year olds who want a fast motorcycle.
There is also of course the fact that hamburgers and a packet of cigarettes will cost differently to a motorcycle.
Your argument is essentially saying 'we have 100 eggs and we need to save them so they hatch, the eggs are slowly being depleted due to a variety of reasons such as dropping, rolling and people intentionally stepping on them. dropping and rolling into danger exists, so why not also be completely fine with people going and stepping on them'
Noah Morris
I don't think hypothetical things like disrupting traffic and spending tax dollars in case of an accident are good arguments for giving up freedom.
Thomas Edwards
Because you live in a statist shithole. In the US you can get a liter bike at 16 if you want. *eagle soars above*
Eli Howard
>Healthcare Talking about the body cleanup and roadway repair m8.
Anthony Martin
>freedom
Are you this seriously deluded that the concept of a kid on a fast penis extender literally shitting everyone's life up is more appealing to you than general orderlyness and good standard?
By your logic we might as well rid children of the terrible freedom denying communist oppression they undergo by not being allowed to operate motor vehicles from birth.
I bet you also moan about bad drivers.
Bentley Jones
>body cleanup >literally takes 2 minutes
and
>road repair for a motorcycle crash lol
Caleb Rogers
To be honest I'd happily have limits on what cars new drivers can own, it'd stop the dipshits crashing them and driving up insurance premiums for everyone else.
Obviously, what I'd really want is for insurance not to be a legal necessity, but that'll never happen in the UK.
Christian Davis
>muh fees fees shut up statist numale
Jaxson Watson
>retaliate against a knife robber by shooting him in the head Of course it's ok
Luis Murphy
This.
>as the capabilities of a motorcycle increase, the level of skill required increases, whereas for cars this does not apply
I'd say the same is true with cars, but to a much lesser extent. It's definitely easy for someone who isn't used to driving a fast car to underestimate it and have an accident. This is why there are so many videos of rich youtuber/hedgefund kids getting powerful cars and then wrecking them within a month.
But yeah, the rest is spot on.
Lucas Robinson
in a country where if you crash than the rest will have to pay for your crippled ass it makes sense
Luis White
Because must 18 yo males are too stupid to handle it
Brandon Powell
You realize the guy in your pic is riding a 125?
Xavier Bennett
how the fuck did all that shit get out of his body?
Jaxson Baker
if that's true then it illustrates the point even better.
Chase Gonzalez
looks like some 3rd world lawless shit hole
Jackson Anderson
at least he wore a helmet!
James Diaz
Exactly can you imagine if he was driving some more powerful. He would look like ground beef
Noah White
hand one 18 year old a hyabusa and another an equally priced car and see which one dies first
Angel Thomas
If neither has any experience I'd say the kid in the car dies first because the kid on the bike is already in the hospital with a broken leg after pulling a wheelie and failing to take off.
Jayden White
A fast motorcycle is a hell of a lot cheaper than an equally fast car.
This means anyone can access a fast bike, but not everyone can access an equally fast car, hence the restrictions.
Also anyone with half a brain knows you need to learn on a forgiving and not retard fast bike first, so you don't kill yourself when you do get on a properly fast bike.
The laws are the laws, no point bitching about them because they're not gonna change any time soon.
Might as well do your time and be done with it, rather than whining that 'da gubmint wont let me do X' the whole time. Makes the whole process go a lot quicker and be a much more positive experience.
Isaiah Davis

Adam Morales
ferrari are safer than bikes even the slower ones
Josiah Collins
yeah but they discourage this type of behavior like they discourage teenager to get a bike they can't handle
Liam Cruz
move to america, cuck
Julian Stewart
>Letting a kid buy a bike that can do 130km/h in first.
Benjamin Fisher
Well then.
Easton Murphy
Once a drooling retard, always a drooling retard. Age doesn't factor into this. By this logic we should also ban certain groups of people for stereotypically being in/ causing accidents (women, old people, spics etc, does that ring a bell to you?)
Now I'm not saying hand every prepubescent snotty brat a license and car keys, but its mind bendingly retarded to limit a WHOLE FUCKING !!!AGE!!! GROUP'S (not demographical groups) mobility and liberty because there are people who have no sense of danger/responsibility. The concept of consequential events is foreign to them.
See how ridiculous this is? Unless you supported Jack Thompson back then OR a decomposing bitter old hag, why the fuck would you support this retarded legislation made by morons OVERSATURATED AND STILL HUNGRY for power and control over us?
Anthony Powell
Because politicians don't understand motorcycles. They're idiots that simplify the world with "common sense" while sitting up in their ivory towers. They feel good when they apply "common sense". They feel like agents of justice. They feel in control, they feel heroic.
A shame, because common sense is just another term for opinions you refuse to justify with facts but are more than willing to "justify" with heaps of rhetoric.
Oh yeah, it's slow, so it's safe. "Common sense". Now shorten the wheelbase, beef up the brakes, stiffen the suspension, and give that 125 a very narrow powerband
And every newbie who rides it will crash on their first corner and break their collarbone in a 50mph fall
But common sense dictated that a small-engined motorcycle would be safer because slower speeds are safer because f=ma. How could it be? How could common sense be wrong? It's almost like the world operates on knowledge and sense that is anything but common, and in fact restricted to specialists. Specialists that are rarely, if ever, involved in representative democracies that exclusively staff themselves with lawyers and bankers.
Jose Powell
>break their collarbone
more like their skull and half their skin because nobody ever buys a good helmet, or good gear, unless you tell them their motorcycle is a fucking beast
scooter riders don't even wear gear
Zachary Gray
Whoa there, you're getting a little too close to the truth for a site like this
Thomas Powell
Who cares?
The end result is europeans going to the track to get their fix and becoming great racers to while americans fuck around in canyons with their 600s before riding home to watch nascar

Aaron Lopez
You dont have to get a new licence in italy though, you just have to wait a couple of years and then they just assume you can drive powerful stuff
Isaac Peterson
As an EMT I would rather spend my time scraping dead teenagers off the road than dealing with fatass patients. God fucking damn fat cunts are the fucking worst. The amount of time and effort it takes to deal with a properly obese patient compared to just a dead body is insane. We need multiple crews to move them, a special van with a hoist to lift them in, a driver with a special license to drive that special van and then half the time we can't tap their veins because we can't fucking find them in a river of fat. Not to mention the smell. I'd rather pick up litrebike pieces anyday, and it only takes one crew and a short amount of time.
Dominic Ward
To stop teenagers from fucking killing themselves on big bikes. Once you're a big boy, you can get the Direct Access Scheme and get any bike you want. But you have to prove you're a big boy first, and not an immature little teenager who just wants to twist the throttle and go fastsies.
