When will this meme die?

the corvette

it destroyed the company

The meme will never die because the glory of the GM and the small block v8 god machine will live forever.

ITT, boys that are mad they will never own a vehicle with 8 cylinders.

nobody wants an inferior layout

v6s are objectively better

Shitting up and then getting rid of the Pontiac and Saturn brands but keeping Buick and Cadillac.

Lots of people want them, they sell very well. That's the subjective part you mentioned.

As for the objective argument, these are automobiles, not robotic Landers for the surface of Mars. Using the absolute objectively on paper most logical engine isn't always necessary for mission success. Objectively every small and midsize vehicle could have a v6. But alot have 4 cylinders. The best engine on paper isn't always what people want.

so you admit v8s are inferior?

Probably best move would have been keep Cadillac with lux cars only. GMC with lux truks and suvs only. Dump Buick because redundancy. Keep Pontiac as performance only brand with hot versions of the common platform, and keep Saturn as a eco-friendly Subaru alternative and roll out the EV junk in that brand.

No, in many applications like full size trucks they are not inferior. Could a turbo v6 do the job, yes but alot of truck buyers dont want added mechanical complexity of turbo.

It all depends on the application. In many applications a v8 would be unnecessary to achieve good performance characteristics. A v6 camero is probably enough to rustle most peoples jimmies, but a v8 rustles them more. Fuel efficiency, weight, I mean if these are factors for you then a v8 is the wrong engine for you.

Your Japaneses, German, etc. car was likely shipped to you via a train pulled by a GM locomotive. You're welcome.

I don't think they're doing anything wrong. Almost every 2nd vehicle here is a GM. Their trucks get used for fleets and get used and abused with little maintenance and yet they stay reliable.

Of course you'll ignore this and say BTFO and something about some fruity race.

why get a v8 tho? a V6 weight less and delivers more power

>getting rid of the Pontiac and Saturn brands

Why keep something that doesn't sell and make money?

But Pontiac was making money, GMC was doing poorer.

Does GM make trains or engines for trains?

Locomotives and Engines.

I don't see Ford making any...

Yeah and as usual for GM they ruined EMD and Detroit Diesel just like every other company they've ever owned

Government Motors

Reminder that the 3.5 ecoboost weighs more than Fords 5.0

Holy shit you're a genius!!!! You should apply for CEO bro!!!!!

Not him, but don't be a faggot. CEO's don't necessarily have good ideas: they have good connections.

He has a point. Compartmentalizing the brand's to do different things could streamline their goals and diversify their marketshare. Instead they homogenized their brands and end up competing with each other.

>Dump Buick
Probably not the best idea

usatoday.com/story/money/cars/2016/10/18/gms-buick-see-sales-soar----because-china/92363996/

it weighs less than an lt4 tho

bump

>release shit cars
>go bankrupt
>Big Nig helps you out
>continue releasing shit cars

>the president does things not congress
>the president does things instead of just approving things
>the president's influence expands beyond appointed positions that should really be elected

american civic education

shhhhhhh. let the trump supporters enjoy their presidency

Tork, powa, sound

>delivers more power

Not if you compare the same setups.

They got a bailout in 08, its like your grandma that is only alive because of her twice daily dialysis and 100 pills at every meal

>90% of jobs obummer created were part time or contract

Discontinued van Duramax fleet.
Now it's Benz all the way
