Read the General problems FAQ before asking questions. If you still need help, post your specs (speccy screenshot), OS, emulator version number and details of what's wrong.
Please contribute to the wiki if you discover any inaccuracies or have relevant information to append.
READ THE WIKI BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS LIKE: >Where do I get games OR >What is the best emulator for...
Check out the wiki for the emulator you're using if you run into trouble, there may be a solution there too, often including recommendations for optimal game settings.
>Tear Ring Saga has an English patch >Saturn version of Policenauts has an English patch >Japan version of Ace Combat 3 has an English patch
Yeah, this is old news, but I haven't been up to speed on translation patches lately. How well do these run in Retroarch/Mednafen? I cannot test myself at the moment.
James Scott
But Cemu is Windows only
Nolan Bailey
it can barely handle dolphin
Jaxon White
>How well do these run in Retroarch/Mednafen?
Perfect.
Ian Torres
Cemu runs under Wine
Owen Wright
>byuu's forum is still closed
Jason Campbell
>barely handle dolphin it runs dolphin just great.
Oliver Young
>Runs games at 30 fps with occasional drops >Perfect
Lincoln Green
No it doesn't. Wind Waker is one of the lightest GC games to emulate it runs it 20-30fps with drops down to 3fps.
Kevin James
Just like on the real thing.
Ian Thomas
> >>Runs games at 30 fps with occasional drops >>Perfect
Wii runs at 30fps

Nope, you can read it now, though you can't register to post.
Ethan Powell
That marcan42 guy who hacked the PS4 is pretty capable in low level/hardware stuff. Why don't the emudev scene have more people like this guy instead of fucks like Squarepusher who do mindless frontend refactoring all day that doesn't contribute to the emulation accuracy? Even byuu can into reverse engineering.
Thomas Robinson
Those types of people are white hat and don't want to be involved with emulation and shit.
Colton Carter
Hi marcan42. Stop trying to bait SP.
William Russell
Why is Ps2 emulation so shitty?
Adrian Long
>Even byuu can into reverse engineering.
Not really. He wishes he could but he mostly relies on others for decapping or low level hardware analysis.
Grayson Fisher
Despite being insanely talented, marcan and other console hackers are immense moralfags.
Landon Anderson
>or low level hardware analysis If that's the case, then what did he actually do?
Andrew Taylor
>Why is Ps2 emulation so shitty? because recaptcha hasn't blessed it
Benjamin Sullivan
Just wait until our lord and savior thegangster256 optimizes hps2x64
James Phillips
I'm having problems using any games. I recently built a pretty highlevel pc but everything still seems to have terrible lag when I play it despite dolphin saying it's running 60 fps like in super monkey ball
and I get this weird glitch in Paper Mario The Thousand year door where frame rates drop to 30 then jump back up to 60 at set intevals.
Noah Jenkins
working as intended
Jonathan Phillips
>Try to get RetroArch to function properly >Tell it to load a Gameboy Color ROM >CRASH
Michael Rogers
i think there might b a problem with retroarch lately
Leo Moore
>get linked to 3DSchaos.com in the last thread >get a 3DS rom hoping to use it in citra >wait a year to download an 800 mb rom because I'm not paying for fast downloads >try to run it, can't cause it is encrypted >look up how to decrypt it, you need a hacked 3ds
motherfucker if I had a hacked 3DS I wouldn't be emulating.
Dylan Gray
Well with the Christmas deadline not being met, I'm honestly wondering what's going on behind the scenes.
Julian Rogers
you people are ridiculous
Gabriel Cruz
what?
Ethan Williams
>mindless frontend refactoring
It feels like you've repeated this phrase hundreds of times on here, like it's your nametag. And it's been wrong every single time.
It's obvious you know nothing about programming, though. And good job taking a shit on frontend coders for no reason.
Hunter Bell
not him but I agree that sites like 3DSchaos should clarify if their roms are encrypted or decrypted, often times they don't.
Jason Carter
You citrafags are the worst
Owen Murphy
You can manually decrypt most CIAs to CCI for use with Citra on your own PC.
Colton Diaz
No, you can convert decrypted CIAs to CCI, you can't decrypt without a 3DS.
Sebastian Martin
Working fine here with the build I just made.
Daniel Nelson
See. People show off RetroArch automatically detecting files and making console-specific lists.
My copy just refuses to identify game files at all and then throws a fit.
Landon Adams
>you can't decrypt without a 3DS. Yet. Hopefully all the hype from 33c3 will bring in some talented hardware hacker that isn't a fucking moralfag and can dump the bootrom(to get crypto).
>that shader fucking kys
Carter Gonzalez
I don't use the playlist feature, I just use Load Content and detect core. It requires up-to-date core info files and to have the core downloaded in the cores folder.
Robert Ortiz
>fucking kys
Problems?
Jacob Gonzalez
I just might have to.
Brandon Rodriguez
So how is Beetle PSX going?
Angel Turner
I have no idea where twinaphex's own cash comes from, he spends too much time on rarch to have a job and he refuses to use the donations yeah lol, and him sure he's not the only one pouring time into the project that leaves govt disability/pension/etc, and savings or mom's basement yeah but the rest of us aren't putting in 12 hours per day good point
Caleb Jenkins
Are you on Vulkan?
Tyler Butler
What is the best neogeo emulator? (I want to play Metal Slug Series again)
Years ago I used neorageX, then kawaks, but the wiki says kawaks is shit. IT IS
Jose Hernandez
FB Alpha core.
Jason Sanders
Nope.
RetroArch can't even fucking load or recognize NES roms. That's sort of pathetic.
Connor Nelson
MAME or FBA is fine You'll need demul to play 6 though
Nicholas Cooper
>That's sort of pathetic story of its life.
Nolan Allen
Good thing 6 is a shit.
Isaiah Sullivan
What's a good keyboard to Pad mapper?
Citra doesn't seem to detect my gamepad
Colton Perez
Oh no
Yeah, Retroarch uses a database file that can automatically list romsets with thumbnails and boxart and cheats and all that fancy shit
But it also skips over some games, and it most definitely skips over translated roms and romhacks. I have to manually launch those all the time.
And last I checked, Gameboy Advance boxart and thumbnails were utterly broken and missing, Gameboy wasn't complete, and NES had some missing art.
I don't know what to tell you, RA is an ambitious project, it's the kind of shit I set up and put on a jump drive so I can stick it and use it anywhere
Asher Roberts
Nestopia seems to throw a fit regarding romhacked games.
Anthony Parker
nvm, joy2key works perfectly
Jackson Morgan
Post your retro achievements!
You DO have retro achievements enabled, right?
Carter Gray
if I wanted modern cancer why would I play old games?
Jaxon Murphy
for >f >u >n
Brody Diaz
>You DO have retro achievements enabled, right? Yep, and here's usually how it goes: >testing a random game for a second/taking a screenshot for this thread >randomly get 30 achievements because it's buggy as shit
>actually play through a game >achievements don't work
Jayden Nelson
god I love Waifu Factory
I 1000% support the Citra team
Nolan Barnes
works for me my man
don't know if they broke it
Alexander Cox
>install lakka on rpi3 >crashes at random well ok then
Fellow pooranon here. Can't afford a PS3 yet the only main reason I want it is for MGS4 and Jojo ASB. Can RPCS3 run either of these yet?
Gabriel Nelson
If you can't afford a PS3 what makes you think you can buy a CPU that can emulate it?
Asher Bell
because I spent all of my money recently on a PC setup.
Kevin Walker
bump
Brody Reyes
where'd you get the pokemon rom
Adrian Fisher
Is Soul Reaver (PS1) just a mother fucker to emulate without sound problems or is PS1 emulation just a fucker?
Logan Jackson
→Use mednafen/RetroArch.
Jacob Watson
May give that a shot I was using PCSX-R with bios and limited frames helped but was still buggy as fuck. Just wanted to smooth out textures a little though, good game, but the best version is the fuck ugly version.
Jack Thompson
>____iso sites >for games that are 2Gb+ >2017

Is there any way to know what changes or improvements have been made whenever the bleeding edge version of Citra updates?
>inb4 that one spastic that shits on Citra in every thread shows up
Nicholas Moore
play the PC or Dreamcast version
Zachary Gutierrez
What shader?
Alexander Lopez
Best n64 emu for android?
I have a nVidia shield tv so the hardware is beefy enough, assuming anything works
Bentley Torres
I am not very bright, when I try to run PS1 games in Retroarch, it just closes with no error message or anything. After searching for some time, I found out the problem may be my BIOS files, my scph5500 and 5501 match the checksum, but my 5502 did not seem to and I cannot for the life of me find the same one anywhere. Can anyone help?
Hudson Jenkins
Because the library is enormous and there's only a couple of guys working on it. If it had a team like dolphin's then it'd be the Mac daddy. It works fairly well in my experience, it's just a bit of a beast to wrangle due to per game configs being necessary.
Gabriel Lopez
Has beetle-hw been fixed so that it works again in OGL yet?
Daniel Gomez
PS3 emulation is many years away. Just save for a PS3.
Nolan Barnes
There's a post At the top of the thread When will you get it into your thick head? Before asking a question Just learn this lesson Read the wiki, or fucking kill yourself
Caleb Evans
That's a cute rhyme and all, but that one is not there. I already checked.
Hunter Gray

Nathan Wright
I suppose it'd have helped if I mentioned that the md5 was e56ec1b027e2fe8a49217d9678f7f6bb, which is not in that list.
Ethan Lewis
Can I somehow port a SNES savegame from my android Retroarch to a SNES emulator on the PSP?
And what snes emu is best on Psp? Thanks
Cameron Brown
Copy the .srm file to where the PSP emulator wants it.
The PSP it too underpowered for decent SNES emulation. PSX only works because it's more like a virtual machine.
Regardless SNES9xTyl is the best iirc.
Hudson Edwards
Thanks I'm trying that after remembering to read the OP
But it won't start, it says corrupted data or something, latest release. I'll troubleshoot after lunch
Asher Evans
Do you have CFW installed?
Landon Walker
If you don't the last dev build of PROcfw is the best iirc but I cant find it anymore.
James Jenkins
Yes I have cfw 6.60 iirc
Camden Wright
Happy new year mudlord.
Eli Nguyen
>Yes I have cfw 6.60 iirc Welp I forgot to run the fast recovery thing
Now it "starts" and then autoquits
Robert Stewart
Release 26 worked, something was wrong with the new one
