I'm not entirely sure on the formula but I believe you gain half of your mainhand's AP on your awakening weapon. Plus you'll want to use skills from both, anyways.

The staff pretty much becomes useless after you get your awakening weapon. A few of the support spells might still be helpful. Ultimate Blizzard is maybe still good depending on your staff. But every other offensive spell is unneeded. The awakening spells have higher damage, larger radius, and lower cooldowns.

You can't get in trouble for making and deleting multiple characters in a short amount of time because you don't like how they look in the overworld right?
