>he fell for the sumo/dirtbike meme
fucking lmao a 800$ GS500 beats your 4500$ supahmodo
then u can see the tears rollin because they wish they'd gotten a proper bike and not a childs toy lmao

What's the best location to live in the US from a motorcycling perspective?

Southern california

Wherever there aren't cops.

it never rains there

If you're fine with crushing loneliness (unless you're in Santa Fe or Albuquerque), then New Mexico actually offers great on and off road riding, and easy access to the Rockies/Colorado.

Reminder to whoever did the SEM poll:
Post the results and write emails, fuckhead.

He already did

what are you on about

he posted the results some threads ago
no, I won't search them for you
yes, he should send the mails. Italian CB400 did the poll if I do be remembering correct.

I'd hardly call my 1000 big and heavy and it's not really like a 600 as far as power delivery goes. I have way more power everywhere and can pull pretty hard from low in the rev range. It doesn't have that big turbo sort of feeling like an 600.

That being said, if you buy a 1000cc sportsbike as your first bike you deserve to die. These things punish mistakes and as a beginner you will make mistakes.

Yeah I haven't been here, if I can't ride talking about motorcycles only makes the pain worse. Hence emails.

I haven't voted the last round because I'm not sure if I will be able to come but send me an email anyway.

Also I fucking did it again, motherfucking disk lock.

I bent the gear lever and broke the tip of the clutch this time, no other damage, not even a scratch. Gonna post pics later.

Ironically I have the reminder cable but when I tried to use it the first time I couldn't figure out where the fuck to attach it on the lock. Anyone?

Lol I don't even have a single normal lever on the bike now, they're all bent or broken. Still rides fine, at least apparently.

very deep

I'm so fucking disappointed. Went to test ride an 'excellent condition' bandit, it was a piece of shit.
>windscreen faded to yellow
>chain rusted and tacky to the touch
>motor warmed up before I arrived
>tyres almost down to the wear markers
>chrome bars rusted to shit
>engine covers all pitted and corroded
>zip ties holding things together
I took it for a test ride because I'd come ~40 minutes to look at it so why fucking not
>bars and pegs vibrate a lot
>bottom end torque only meh tier
>handling gets real floaty past about 6/10ths

Did I just get a bad example or are bandits as half baked as I just experienced?

>Only 34k odo
Why must baiku suffer like this?

While I've never ridden a Bandit, they're budget bikes and you can't really expect a "woah" effect out of those types of bikes.

Things faded to yellow, some zipties / patched plastics and rust can be expected on an old bike, but almost all of the things you mentioned are maintenance related.

I bet if
>tyres were new
>chain was well maintened
>steering bearings were in good condition
>owner was not a complete retard and was actually honest about his bike

Your experience would have been more positive. That said, Bandits are not bad bikes per se.

Rare recording of WRs voice that I taped when we were skyping yesterday.

>5k for a bandit
holy shit just get a gixxer, comes in better build quality stock

I'm so pissed off
Literally park your bike under a carport and half of those problems wouldn't happen. Replace consumables every 10k (how long does it take to rack up 10k on a bike?) and the rest of those issues wouldn't happen. Christ on a crutch.

Maybe because I'd just got off my TL, the torque wasn't mind blowing like reviews had me believe. But the TL is tuned for top end and has a smaller motor, so who fucking knows?

supersports are aids, sorry

dude
delet this

seriously

welp, stick to your budget bikes then

"I can dew not here"?

Can anyone suggest how hard it would be to put USD forks on a CB1100. I suppose you would need new clamps? the tripple clamp and the top one? and then new clocks?
I suppose either custom clamps to suit clocks and new larger diameter forks or a donor bike front end, not sure how a donor bike would work with the old dials but.

I'd buy this bike tomorrow if it had USD forks, that would be gorgeous. Don't even care that it's (relatively) slow and impractical.

:^) Wie heißt das Zauberwort?

enjoy going down the rabbit hole of upgrades user. Why not just enjoy the bike for what it is, keep something else for the hand-of-god handling experience? Otherwise ownership experience goes something like:
>buy retro bike
>spend $$$ buying full exhaust
>realise that carbs are leaned out
>buy jet kit to remedy
>spend $$$ buying USD forks
>spend more $$$ buying matching brake and mounting hardware
>realise stock shocks are overwhelmed
>replace with monoshock from R6 or similar
>frame still wiggles so better gusset that too
etc
Then you realise you're 2-3x the purchase price of the bike into it, still slower than a standard sportbike, and nobody wants to buy your frankenstein shitbike

>every OEM issues this advice
>yet the wanky $15-per-can chain treatment industry still carries on strong

Why do motorcyclists hate money

good points, well made.
Such a shame Honda stopped short of the USD forks on this one.

ich fick deine Mutter du hurenson

...

because chain lube lasts longer per treatment and tests actually show you go 35k km fine with it before your sprockets wear down

Jetzt werde ich dein Foto posten.

nein aber ich deines.

NorCal, better roads, less traffic.

and people with less of a brain you inbred hillbilly.

I don't understand people who don't wear anything more than a helmet

it takes a fraction of that time to put on a pair of gloves and by the time you're done with the helmet and gloves, it only takes a few seconds to put on a jacket

I lived in Socal for a couple of years, I hate to say it but you'll have to go back.

Where you from friendo?

...

why doesn't drive 2 have grom

ride 2 rather

because 30 minute laps arent fun

on a grom they are

no

I'm east of Sac'o'tomatoes.

my hand finally healed over

>image.jpg

Nice fingers, user

>putting on gloves and helmet before jacket

oh I put my jacket on first when I do it; I'm just saying in the grand scheme of things it doesn't take that long to put all the gear on

they dont do it because it takes time they want to be outlaw and cool

Are dual sports a meme or just dirt bikes and supermotards?

keep it trimmed and wet

just like ur moms pusi

GRAB THE POPCORN FUCKERS

Poor SV650S owner here,
going to buy a breaker bar and torque wrench soon
1: can I just go for the cheapo 20-200Nm torque wrench and just do the sub-20 nuts by hand?
2: what nuts should I get for the breaker bar? I have no ratchet set yet and the manual doesn't specify. I know from Tamsen Cooper videos that the front sprocket is 32mm, what else is going to require force?

I WAS WAITING FOR THIS ALL DECEMBER

theyre not bad bikes but are kind of half baked. its a 1200cc engine slapped into some frame. if you dont cover and baby them, you'll quickly lose grips with your maintenance. here's the vid that sold me on mine, but i bought it for $2k usd, salvage, and needed work.

this is a bandit after i took a nap and it rained. very obvious this happened to the PO cos the 1 & 4 spark plugs are slightly rusted.

>I have no ratchet set yet and the manual doesn't specify
get a $40-$80 ratchet set and a metal pipe from a hardware store that fits your 1/2" ratchet

all of them are a shit meme.

dirtbike has zero purpose, an ATV does everything better. People mod them for streetuse and they're still shittier than a gs500, a beginner street motorcycle.

shit dude at 2:20 saved it kek

that's pretty smart, I'll save money on the breaker bar then.

>atvs are light and powerful
>atvs can be street legal
>atvs can single track
Kek no
>GS500
Is slower than a drz. Which is pretty much the slowest dual sport you can buy.

Why do people on Veeky Forums instigate and insist truths when they are obviously wrong?

I didn't died today

>atvs are light and powerful
>atvs can be street legal
>atvs can single track
who cares? a 4x4 gets you forward 100 times better than a dirtbike. And why street legal? Get a proper bike instead of your half-assed "dualsport"

a drz doesn't do 175kph

My wr450 will do 175kph
4x4 doesnt move shit better. Have you ever even ridden a motorcycle?
Have you tried climbing steep hills on an ATV?
Have you tried accelerating quickly (lol) on an ATV?
Wont happen.
Fuck off nobike

And tell me, when do you plan to hit 180kmh?

150kmh is plenty enough for a motorcycle unless you plan to race. Not saying you can't use the power of a big bike but you really never need top speeds.

There are better ways to kill yourself.

noice

>My wr450 will do 175kph
downhill, with the wind behind you, near redline

why so mad? it's proven that 4x4 does better than one tire with no balance at all.
youtube.com/watch?v=YV2H2mGs_-s
4x4 will always beat 2x1, no matter what.

>n-no it's ok to be slow you don't need more
are you seriously defending being slow? wow I wonder why everyone doesn't ride a ninja 250. Oh yea, because they're slow, kek

as said, zero purpose.

So in your head, a heavier bike with less horse power (GS500) can go faster than a lighter bike with more horse power (WR450)
Wew lad

>slowass dirtbikes
>talks about accelerating
oh gosh the delusion begins

go pack to the playground with your toys

>he thinks doitbikes are slow
Top keke nobike
Top kek indeed

whats 60-120mph time then?
or right it doesn't even come close to 120

fucking kek the delusion continues

Nigger are you seriously defending doing 180kmh on the road?
No, seriously, what are you, a real nigger or something?

I said you can use a big bike's power but the point that you never really need top speeds remains. You wanting to go fast is a totally different matter.

people are doing 300 and you are worried about 180?

welp, that's why you're riding kidsbikes I guess

...

Why do i need to do 120?
Max speed limit here is 80mph

How's riding subliter bikes working for you, Eurorapes and Autistralians? Lmao

I'm sorry you live in a cucked country and don't get to enjoy any bike over 250cc

Im in america... i have a 450 and 530.
Post your bike kiddo

I'm pretty sure my father is gonna die soon.

Not sure how to face this.

Need quick help here, looking to get my motorcycle license but need to get a permit first, thing is, the MP only last 6 months, is there any possible way to renew it? Or would I have to go through the entire process again, I wouldn't be able to get my full license until about 10 months after I get my MP.

here we are.

post yours.

if he's old, and he's lived a long life, and you know his body is deteroiating and he's suffering, just think of it as a a sweet release.

however if you know he owes money to the yakuza or something and they're coming soon well idk get some homefront setup and defend until the last breath

also does this trigger you? is it too fast for you? are you sweating bullets?

that's right, leave the fast bike to the adults.

>Autistralians

>lol people do even worse therefore it's ok
What kind of fucking response is that? What kind of point are you trying to make?
Nope, Italian.
I'm just stating facts.
How soon are we talking about? Use the time you have left the better you can, you can only do that. Don't hide your suffering and talk to the people close to you.

I knew it was you.
Why are you such a stupid faggot?
>honda
Oh

nice.
look at those bikes. only good for playing in the dirt, like kids.

This argument is settled. Have fun.
