dk is the current main tank of choice, war is the off tank

both of them are good, dk takes a bit more effort than war

DRK is fun as fuck and is current best main tank, while WAR is also fun as fuck and is best OT. Avoid PLD right now because its mind numbing.
Starting as a tank is good because you can get your queues a lot faster than as a DPS

In 8`man content there are 2 tanks, and off and main, 2 healers and 4 DPS.
The offtank usually just beats the shit outta things along witth the DPS unless there are Mechanics that require tank swaps/extra add pick ups.
While the Main tank usually holds the boss in place.

black mage is kinda weird in that it doesn't really get massive DPS increases over THM until you hit 50. that said, there's not really any reason to not unlock it immediately, especially if you don't have blood for blood or internal release. i think just being a black mage gives you a decent sized base stat boost over THM, anyways.

all the jobs are straight upgrades over the base class and should be picked up asap
