Why do people want hood exits on naturally aspirated cars?

Is this new rice? Is it old rice re-iterated? I don't get it.

nu-rice

Show him who's boss and race him

that back pressure

Back pressure is a meme anyway

Nothing new and makes sense for performance applications where you don't need anything after the collector.

that looks pretty cool for a 15 second car

Your a meme

140hp never sounded so loud

>Back pressure is a meme
What in the fucking fuck are you going on about?
Do you have 6 mufflers in a row for
>dat souper quiet ride
or maybe you can admit that backpressure is not just a meme

Yeah dude that's what mufflers do. You wouldn't even need mufflers to create backpressure, even if someone wanted it for some reason.

are you implying I was saying that mufflers are the only thing that produce backpressure?

sure why else would you bring up 6 mufflers

Anyone who thinks "backpressure" is a factor in exhaust performance is retarded.

backpressure is a meme. just be quiet.

>dat souper quiet ride
i guess. why else?

It would make sense with a larger displacement engine, but a sub 3 liter engine would not run into the problem unless there was one hell of a turbocharger on it

I have 5 mufflers in a row.

facts right here. back pressure is only detrimental to perfomance

thats probably the worst placement of an intercooler ive ever seen.

Holy shit, got more pics?

Why do people want hood exits at all is a better question. It looks fucking stupid and sounds terrible.

For racing it's illegal.
And for the street, the +10 hp doesn't matter.

Basically fuck you

dozens. what do you want to see?

I think
Inadvertently nailed it.

Pretty sure that while it is still loud AF, it doesn't have the same farty rasp that a long, body-length straight pipe does on a 4 cylinder.

Also wouldn't it seem slightly less loud aimed skyward?

All of dat engine bay

...

it was a fun project. cheap, fast, reliable, ultra sleeper.

What car is this? and where did you get your turbo setup?

But it is.
In 2stroke motors.

yeah its really bad. on my turbo fiero im going to do intercooling like the rs200

dsm.
overnighted the turbo setup from japan

>pvc pipe

it provides down force breh

ah yes, the pvc card. the easy lay for haters. its now gone, but at the time...

so cheap
weighed nothing
ONLY directed airflow
smooth as fuck on the inside
never saw pressure either way
fit intake filter perfectly

I guess I could have left it off, but after all that effort I was damned to run a filter.

what is that tank in the top left for ?
I assume it if for fuel

Looks like an air/water intercooler

thats the tank for the intercooler. i made it out of a scrap file cabinet.

goal was 100% of the action to be under the hood. anything goes in the engine bay. close the hood, the car is bone stock. what more room do you need?
interior _completely_ stock
exterior bone stock everything down to the wheels
etc etc etc.
It's why I have 5 mufflers in a row on the car.
anything outside of the engine bay is pointless *to me* to change.

i am strongly considering altezzas and a wing however.

Is that a 20g turbo?

yes it bolted directly on.

Stock internals or what? What kind of power are you making?

I'm aware the 20g bolts directly on lol. When does boost come on?

haha naw, not this car. maybe in the 800's? no clue really. im slowly collecting parts to make 4 digits without changing much, the dream is to add a shot to overcome lag and shoot for the moon. all unadvertised of course. nos would be my first inconvenience with the car, but it is a 122ci engine after all...

comes on? same as any other 20g. i bolted it on in half the time a ls1 swap takes.

I'm becoming skeptical about you now.

Your intercooler is aluminum, they don't generally make file cabinets out of aluminum, nor do I expect you to make welds that good.

20g's will make 500 horse if you're lucky and have all supporting mods with meth injection.

You should full well know when you're car builds boost.

the file cabinet is clearly welded to the bottom of the intercooler, and in my 15 years of welding i may never achieve ascetically pleasing welds.

that aside, the 20g had some shaft play and the meth injection was shotty. im still trying to upgrade to 2.5" ic pipe so my CW bearings stay stable.

with any luck itll break down next week, obviously because they are very unreliable when blindly purchased on CL after nearly 10 incompetent owners.

WELCOME TO THE PE/O/PLE'S COURT
This week.. Dyno Dissenter!
The Plantiff, Claims that a 20g turbo cannot boost above 500HP
The Defendant Claims he is making 800HP+

That car is pushing 52psi on e85 and belongs to a guy with the username "beaner"

I'd like to file a motion for discovery as the defense did not submit the requested metallurgical evidence relating to one "file cabinet intercooler tank."

nope.

Just the optimal setup for power on these engines, doesnt have any ill effect other than noise, benefits are ease of removal just unbolt the header and the exhaust is removed just like a bike, also with no exhaust dangling under the car you wont scrape..a common issue with lowered cars.

Because your turbo header arrived before your turbo did, that's why.

what stock turbo has a fucking polished compressor and turbine housing

>headers
Why are people this dumb its an exhaust manifold

Your a bad at grammar

You're a bad grammar!!! You're a bad grammar!!!!

Is that fucking pvc pipe on the left there?
