Having Shadow Reaper as a complimentary pseudo wincon is really nice for control Shadow. Forcing an opponent to blow hard removal on a 2-cost creature can give you such breathing room to set up Khawy/Morde shenanigans.

You either need to have a ward up, or you need to have a board state/health that doesn't allow your opponent to just ignore your board and hit you in the face. The counterplays are extremely limited, which turns the games into draw dependent rng.
