I think people don't realize it but certain games appear good only because you exceptionally like a certain character in the game. Imagine the game without that character and the game suddenly turns shit. This is called waifu syndrome.
The likable character is usually good looking, white, cute, and has an innocent behaviour which gives the player a feeling to protect him/her at all cost. The devs fool the players into liking such innocent fictional characters, after the player gets addicted to the character he/she thinks that the video-game is 10/10. In reality it's not.
The people who fall victim to these fictional characters are usually virgins.

I can't think of a single game like that.
The original Bioshock should have never gotten sequels.
But then we would have never gotten Infinite and would have been stuck with Bioshock 1.
