Communism has never worked!!!!!

>communism has never worked!!!!!

Hmmmmmm......looks like it's working pretty well right now.

>IT'S BIG
>COMMUNISM WORKS
People could build ancient monuments since the bronze-age. And they'd be a lot bigger given the technology.

>art deco is never coming back

feels bad man

cool building user

...

>china
>communist

>implying anything even remotely approaching communism has ever existed

>china is communist
stop the memes

That structure looks like it's ready to fall over.

oh totally.
And I'm glad you got past the great firewall to post this.

It also looks like someone taking a squat. The tiny building could be the poopie/dildo.

China isn't really Communist though, only nominally in that it opposes the US.

Ive been to Beijing and have seen that building and let me tell you it is awe inspiring and larger than life. Let me also tell you that China isn't even remotely close to communism these days. You need pictures of mass graves and starvation to describe the "the good ole days".

>implying anyone in modern-day China actually believes in communism

The only feasible time China can actually be considered communist is when it fucks up, so that people can add it to their checklist of "things communism ruined."

Otherwise it doesn't count, silly.

The Chinese government controls the major industries does it not? The companies are state-owned are they not?

Less and less, I'm pretty sure state owned industry dropped below 50% in the last few years.

It's definitely more state controlled than someplace like the US, but it's hardly communist, and trending away from it, not towards it.

Doesn't equal communism

I thought China was state capitalist.

This term "state capitalism" needs to fucking die. It means nothing. Every capitalist country has a state. That's what makes it a goddamn country. So "state capitalism" is a completely redundant term that means nothing.

Doesn't it mean that the state controls the capital? There's still a free market, it's just all ultimately owned by the government?

t. someone who knows almost nothing about economic systems.

state capitalism is not about pointing out whether a capitalist polity has a state or not within its borders, its about the role of the state in the capitalist system, especially concerning regulation, capital accumulation and the direction toward which capital investment goes.

It's funny because it's not wrong.

>communists claim communism has never been tried when you criticize communism
>but communists don't claim the Soviet Union was communism

>capitalists claim capitalism has never been tried when you criticize capitalism
>but capitalists claim that capitalism is responsible for our current wealth

>capitalists claim capitalism has never been tried when you criticize capitalism

Who says that? Seriously, who?

They weren't as dumb as fuck as the Russians to switch from Communism to Capitalism in 1 day.

How stupid do you have to be to privatise non-productive industries like mining and oil/gas so suddenly? The Chinese were right to start privatising experiments only in 1 city, and only with things like agriculture and the service industry (restaurants etc).

>communism doesnt work
>in b4 not real communism

>communism works
>not real communism

Capitalists everyone.

I'm not sure China will privatize industries that rely heavily on capital.

north korea has one of th3e biggest hotels in the world.

shitty nations tend to build overly huge structures as a statement.

So ask them how capitalism dealt with the banking crisis in 2008-ish times. Ask them if government intervention to keep large businesses afloat is part of capitalism.

Then ask them what won the Cold War. Ask them if deliberately growing government to bankrupt the Soviets is a capitalist strategy.

I wonder if Communism could battle Islam more effectively than Democracy?

Communism is an economic system.

Democracy is a government system.

Apples and oranges.

>In 2007, anticipating the coming "Year of the Pig" in the Chinese calendar, depictions of pigs were banned from CCTV "to avoid conflicts with muslim minorities"

>They weren't as dumb as fuck as the Russians to switch from Communism to Capitalism in 1 day.
Russians werent dumb, they just found a great way to steal shit and get rich under the guise of giving it to people.

>want to eliminate every intermediary body between the state and individuals and eliminate civil rights
>expect rule of law to still exist

By definition, eliminating the bourgeoisie means eliminating civil rights.

Democracy means that prominent government officials are picked by voting. That's all it means. It does not denote positive or negative outcomes.

That's specifically a republic. Democracy is just deciding policy (directly or inderectly through representation) by a vote of the people

That's a bad feel.

>state owned
>communism

this board just keeps getting dumber

gdppp

this

usa too scared to invade communist china so they invade vietnam instead

lololololol got 'em!

>it's in the party's name so they must actually practice communist economics
>imblyign

Yes, and the Democratic peoples republic of Korea is a democratic peoples republic

>Major industries controlled by the government
>Majority of economy is state-run
>Majority of business are state-owned

>not communist economy??????

It sure as hell isn't what most people would consider capitalist.

>Major industries controlled by the government
>Majority of economy is state-run
>Majority of business are state-owned
that's all just plain wrong though..

>Communism has a state
>Communism puts the means of production in the state's hands

Historically speaking yes to both
