what's your favorite decade for cars, Veeky Forums?

70s>60s>90s>50s>80s

sweetspot for me is the transition time between 80's and 90's

definitely the 90s.

Although the 2010s might be another favorite since i'm digging the hybrid stuff.

The one to come.

70's - 80's - 90's - 2010's - 2000's - 60's - 50's - 40's/Pre-war vintage.

70s
80s
90s
30s
50s

Everything else is shit.

Liking the gay boxy design of the 80's, anything other than the 80's is good.

>707hp sedans
>$30k 430hp pony cars
>corvettes raping gtrs
>teslas

this one

You do realize the 70s through the early 90s were boxy as hell, right?

Hell nah, brother.
Have you seen the Austin Montego? This gay-ass boxy car practically embodies the year 1985!

Look at these straight edges! I'd love to see the designer's side parting!

no they werent

not compared to the designerless 80s

and the 90s is famous for its aero styling

Oh yeah, so round.

Oooo. Just like a bubble.

the overall design of the lambo countach (pictured above) was pretty angular, too, and that was developed in the early 70s.

American car design a shit

wow this was the same year

once again

same year

yeah and the Countach is ugly too

>moving the goal posts
That has to be the most angular Jag I've ever seen.

Good God, what did they design that on? An Etch-a-Sketch?

1900-1910. Cars went from 5hp to 200hp in five years and they raced them on epic dirt road circuits (which they didn't close to the public) for hours at a time.

I havent moved the goal posts at all I dont think you know what that means

you posted a 1977 car I posted a 1977 car

that Scirocco still looks loads better than the 80s one

>only the cars I post are relevant

The Jagaur XJ was deisgned to be sleek, beautiful and refined, not your average Austin box from the 60's or the ostentatious Yankee land barges. No vulgar uses of chrome

Besides, you've never seen the XJ40 then, have you? Designed for the futuristic, space-decade of the 1990s.

then in the 80s it turned into an ugly box like many cars

perhaps you should learn how arguing works

you post and I post a rebuttal

American trash was about a decade behind, so it makes sense

Pic related is a 1991 entry-level car.

00's because I'm a degenerate subie fag

True, not compared to the 80's. The 70's designs were angular, yes, but not as boxy (angular and boring and shapeless).

anecdotal examples, dummy

angular != boxy

why are you even arguing with 14 year olds?

i second this minus the Tesla, seems like the Auto industry is going out with a bang before electric and self driving cars take over in the decades to come

that's what i meant

10s best decade

Late 60s/early 70s because American land barges with massive engines (my dream is to build a brand new 69 Camaro from scratch using a dynacorn)

90's. Specifically Japanese cars. Nothing else even matters.

90's>10's>00's>80's

>putting prewar and postwar together
>putting them at the bottom of the list
Literal absolute shit taste.

1990s

But the MG Montego Turbo is amazing and you know it.
Remember Russ swift doing mad J-turns in the adverts?

Amazing, I thought that car was pure sex when I was a kid, now it just looks fucking ridiculous.

It still looks ridiculously edgy sporty, it's just the size of a fucking tank and completely irrational to drive even as a one of a kind sports car.

1960 to 1985 mostly due to mechanics and style
also some pre 1940 cars because comfy

90's Nip sports cars make me rock hard

agree

Looks like that car is about 3 feet wider than its supposed to be.

Like they only drew out a side view and forgot they had to make a car and not a motorcycle jet.

none of those have flat panels or hard edges
even coach built cars from 1900 are not so flat

This, some 70s-80s ones as well, but the 90s were the golden age for Japan.

So many great cars in a fuckton of different configurations.

>groundbreaking designs from 1991 onwards
