DROPPED SPANNER IN ENGINE BAY

>DROPPED SPANNER IN ENGINE BAY
>IT DISAPEARED INTO ANOTHER FUCKING DIMENSION

FUCK THIS SHIT IM SO MAD HOW THE FUCK DID IT JUST DISSAPEAR WHERE IS IT

its either sitting on a frame rail or is resting on an engine mount waiting to jump out.

Also who even calls a wrench a spanner?

It's with all my lost 10mm sockets

>Changing oil
>about to tighten plug back into oil pan
>Drop spanner in oil drain pan

It won't help you locate it, but holy fuck will pic related change your life.

>Buy 98 Subaru Forester not long ago

>Working on it

>Notice tons of misc bolts/fasteners missing around the engine bay

>Remove under engine plastic cover to make template for proper bash plate

>Suddenly raining bolts and fasteners.

please stop calling them spanners
you're intruding on my safe space

MINE WAS A 10MM TOO WHAT THE FUCK

what does that do user

...

>>DROPPED SPANNER IN ENGINE BAY
i've got a box of tools that were left in my car by mechanics....
doesn't make up for when you lost my dip stick

Strong magnet+duct tape+wood dowel

kek

made me chuckle.

I actually cant see it anywhere user a magnet wont help

>Also who even calls a wrench a spanner?
bongs

I almost always have to fish out the bolt out of dirty oil when I change it

ausfag actually

>Dropped screw in dash
>oh fuck
>can't find it
>drive off
>shift
>hear a little something
>wat
>shift again
>wat?
>pull over, start popping trim off
>screw is wedged in the shifter linkage

>Dismantling intake manifold on NA second gen RX7 to fix sum sheeit
>two-piece intake, lower and upper halves, mating surface between LIM and UIM is parallel to ground
>have LIM on, replacing all vacuum lines/etc before UIM goes on
>remember completely trivial wire bracket that goes onto LIM with 10mm bolt, would have no effect if left unbolted
>drop into LIM

>1-day ship endoscope and bendy magnet grabber, retrieve

But I was about to lose my shit for a minute there

what kind of retard loses a diptstick?

My car has this weird fucking plastic trim under the engine. I have dropped the dipstick down there before while changing oil, since I just keep it out after checking and wiping when pouring from big ass jugs instead of 1qt bottles.

It magically landed sideways, just in front of the oil filter.

so an upside down bong

Screwdriver fell down the back of my engine and some how ended up finding its way into an exhaust heat shield. Had a rattle at idle for a while.

>Also who even calls a wrench a spanner?

Literally everyone outside of the US.

You spelled disappear two different ways. Both were wrong.

The fuck is a spanner?

You.

>10mm socket
>transverse V6 minivan

>His clickerhandle doesn't have a holdybutton for his squareyspinner-grabbers

8mm for me

>I dropped my only 10mm socket into my engine bay with the whole intake system off
>~50% of the bolts are 10mms
that was not a fun night

HERES WHAT YOU DO user

YOU PULL YOUR CAR OUT AND DO A FEW 100-0 STOPS

IF NO RENCH BUY NEW CAR

>waaah my wrench is dirty
Just blast it with brake cleaner and wipe it off you pussy

>not having extra 10mm sockets

You nobs know damn well the things are fucking cursed, if you can't go spend ten bux at Walmart for a set of backup sockets you deserve to lose it

>inb4 chinkshit tools
Go ahead and spend 80bux on reserve tools if you want

>taking me mums spark plugs out
>I6
>do first 5 easy
>last one is UNDER THE FUCKING DASHBOARD
>have to drop the spark plug socket in, then the extension, then plug in my ratchet
>then get a bendy magnetic stick to get the plug out
man i appreciate the ease of maintenance on 4 cylinders compared to 6 cyl

>Go at the local scrapyard with a list of what to remove.
>Work on the first engine (H25A) lose the 10MM socket in the worst place ever.
>proceed to curse
>Come.back home with 50% of what I was supposed to bring back
