Battleborn was never THAT bad. It is a good game.

The only problems I had with the game are the performance (which should be fixed with this patch) and the pre made groups in PvP which probably killed the player base.

the price is good if we're looking at the same price for the amount of content + this update today

It's only worth it if you really enjoy the game. The new missions are mediocre, the new characters can be grinded with in game currency.

That being said, the new DLC characters are usually high tier and gave a nice boost if you had only a few characters unlocked, but now the entire roster sans DLC characters are unlocked from the start.

The skins are just a few more to the many other palette swaps you can unlock, the extra stories add lore, and the new characters you can unlock with a fuckton of in-game currency iirc but don't quote me on that last part, I have the season pass and don't remember how getting the new characters works for plebs
Shouldn't affect gameplay as far as match-to-match stats, think you get a legendary item as well

The season pass gives you
-5 extra story missions (the third is coming with the current patch)
-5 bonus heroes without paying with ingame currency (the fifth is now released, but only available for non DLC owners in one week)

The five bonus heroes are extremely expensive and the story missions are good, but you really don't need them at all (no advantage in PvP).

If you ask me, I only play Phoebe or Montana and have played every mission only 2 times. The DLC is probably not worth it.

Every hero is viable and the DLC heroes are not P2W.

With the base game you have 25 good heroes and can buy the last 5 without the DLC. And the bonus missions alone aren't worth the $20 if you only want to play PvP.

Kinda, it's mostly the vets who've put too many hours into perfecting his playstyle. Every once in a while you'll play against someone who doesn't know what they're doing, but the Miko on their team is competent enough to keep them alive.

mmmm, unless you wanna play the same 8 missions by yourself over and over, might be weak. There's an online story matchmaking system. A challenge system that unlocks lore for you to read as well.

Battleborn is literally the best game I've ever played. Not even a meme. And I've been gaming since 2009.

Dof you mean the quick melee or melee characters in general?
Quick melee is based on the character for damage, but it usually pushes enemies back if you're overwhelmed with enemies or a quick pop of damage to finish and enemy while reloading.
Most melee characters can't survive for long if played recklessly and require healing from a healing character, activated gear or teleporting back to base.
Pendles,Rath,Boldur, Shayne&Aurox come to mind as good melee with a little training.
Gear is pretty important for melee, adding more health, move speed or attack damage will help a lot.
