It seems like all of the original ships will have to be reworked for Item 2.0. I wonder if they will just adapt the current designs without change or will the Aurora, Mustang, and 300 series all get bigger.
I still don't know what will happen to 300s and Freelancer variants. They don't even show them in 4.0 ship releases. I have a 325A and a Freelancer DUR and I feel like I will be the biggest douche with worst deal for his money in 3.0. If I don't hear something until near to the release of 3.0, I will melt those and buy Cutlass and Gladius.
I'm sure the Freelancer will be awesome later on. It's supposed to be the hardest to scan your cargo, so a good smuggling ship.

As with all the engineers, just bring the right materials. Crafting three modifications of your current grade will unlock the next grade.
You'll want to bring a lot of materials if you're looking to get experimental upgrades.

Can anyone shed some light on how bounties work in ED? I accidentally hit someone and got a 6000cr bounty that is down for 6 days when in the past it was more like 6 minutes and a tiny fine. So I tried buying a Sidewinder and going back to the system where the bounty is so the authorities could kill me, which they did. So I paid the insurance on the Sidewinder, and not only is the bounty still active, but the 2 million or so credits I had yet to collect in my own bounty kills has vanished. Am I doing something wrong or is this game just a pile of retarded shit?

Vulture is great but if you want to go FAST while being an annoying hard to hit tiny piece of shit that can also go silent, you may want a DBS
Viper mkIV might be alright if you want a combat/multipurpose combo but be prepared for medium ship tier agility. great directional thrusters tho
Archon Fury makes good use of 'em.
He's one of the only dudes I watch; he has a loadout with Li Yong Rui's special multis, one regular multi and a rack of yuri's fsd fuckery missiles on a stealth dbs; I've seen him drop some pretty big game in it.
If you can get the rank the imperial courier is a great choice. Strong shields plus 3 medium hardpoints make it a good fighter. It still counts as multipurpose ship so it can be built for other trades if that's what you want.
How do you max out things like jump range? The wiki says the Python can reach up to 30ly But I've just bought the best FSD for this ship and it is well below that. Is this something to do with the engineer stuff I keep hearing about?

A rated FSD, D rated everything else. Makes for a shit ship but it jumps far. Also you can undersize things like the power plant or power distro if you can. makes the ship even shittier, but you get jump range
OR you could go to an engineer that does grade 5 FSD and almost double it with a good grade 5 roll
Yeah a grade 5 fsd will get you a really good jump range. In the mean time you can drop all core modules except FSD down to D grade to increase jump range.

I get that there's a few out there but I've never encountered an obvious aimbotter, it doesn't have to color your experience. in fact 99% of players being shit evens the scale with potential botters pretty well. I got 1st in the free for all mode the other night for probably the second time in my life in any game.

the DBS is a tiny piece of shit (for whoever is shooting at it) that is probably the best fighter in its class thanks to its great speed, agility, perfect hardpoint placement and superior amount of utility mounts. Kinda shit shields but that's par for the course at that size
the vulture fits in the same category except it has way too much shields and firepower for its size
FAS is basically a DBS, just bigger and better
I'm basing every comparison on the DBS cause that's the one ship I bought once I got out of an Eagle and fell in love with it. Three anacondas and a corvette later and I still compare combat ships to it

>Imperial Courier -- 3,000,000 (looks sweet, how long does it take to rank up to get it?)
>Diamondback Scout -- 570,000 (solid, but I can afford better)
>Viper MkIV -- 440,000 (ok, but I can afford better)
So either save up for FAS, get the Vulture, or rank up for the Imperial Courier.

I was drifting backwards firing at him, but thanks to how COMPLETELY FUCKED the flightmodel is the fucking decouple just turns on randomly and realigns you, so it started moving me towards some rocks. this guy was right in my face and I got a rear collision warning, so I slammed on the boost and did a hard upward strafe. he didn't catch it in time and went nose first into the rock, exploding in front of me. fucking great stuff.
speaking of boost and general mechanics, what the fuck are those retards at CIG doing, holy shit! boost is x? bravo you stupid fucks, trying to use freelook, decouple, boost or turning off comstab and gsafe is an absolute shitshow. you pretty much have to hit keys until you get the right one and then hit all the others again to reset what you didn't want, unless you want to stop and look at your hands.
and god damn, did they INCREASE ttk as well? I spent 15 minutes in 1v1 against a 300 series and did not get a single kill despite hammering on that shitter constantly.

Regarding the imperial courier rank. Not too long if you can find a good mission grinding system. Last I checked Aditi was quite good for rank if you took missions from there and delivered to the nearest populated system.
