Hey, I've read a little about Nicolae Ceaușescu's execution and the events coming up to the 1989 revolution and I'm unsure whether I can be bothered reading a book or such about whether it was justified or not. I was wondering if any people Veeky Forums could provide their opinions.
I've watched the show trial: youtube.com/watch?v=XsRQP7TifME which can be watched here. It's obviously baseless and the claims made that they committed genocide are unfounded as hospital reports show only around 1,000 people died by authorities in comparison to the 64,000 which was reported by western media. Also, the very fact they decided to kill them so brutally without an actual trial is quite disgusting.
Could any people on Veeky Forums provide greater information and are there any short books on the subject?
It is called an analogy. I never said the man was innocent. As outlined in the OP, I am inquiring about the revolution including facts and books about it. The original post was incorrect in its claim.

Frankly, if you're the head of state, you should do one of two things.
Don't allow your forces to slaughter innocent people to advance your policy
Don't lose the war
If you make both of these mistakes, you are highly likely to be prosecuted criminally.
Cry more, tankie.

Again, you are making assumptions about my position and are creating this non-argument about whether a head of state is responsible. The topic of the thread has gone awry.
