It was meant to support the Apache.

stealthly, heavily armed scout helicopter, main purpose would have been designating targets for the Apache. Was gonna replace the OH-58 (RIP) which it looks nothing like. Now the army doesn't have a scout helicopter and wont until Future Vertical lift in 2030.

The OH-58 had new life because it could control drones, but they just added that to the AH-64.

I literally never use SAU

SAU just takes control of the stick for you to make you fly level.

Just fire Kh-66s in pairs though, plane is nigh unflyable with just one, esp in a combat situation.
