Does anyone have any tips on getting better fps in CS? I used to run 10 fps in CS before on laptop, and I'm still running 10 fps in CS after getting a desktop.

Knowing the optimum rotation is maybe 20% of what it means to be a good dps. Being able to resume second optimal and third optimal rotations on the spot to continue after interruptions, fitting in as many attacks as possible, and knowing when to use your burns accounts for a lot more.

i mean i definitely try to be mindful of that, i watch for attack tells and keep phases in mind. i may just think too much about optimal rotations and stuff from having played so much wow where there's a lot of downtime to get a full "rotation" off.

I just spam my rotation and if I get interrupted, continue off from the next spell.

Thats how most dps do it. Thats also why most dps are shit, theres no reason to hold off on your highest priority skill for 4 seconds because you want to continue your cookie cutter combo that has cds totally out of sync, and thus not being optimal anymore. Certain classes do have some caveats though, I guess.

I'd do even less damage if I tried to readjust though, because I'd be thrown out of my groove and start messing up my cds until eventually I'm just using any spell I have that's not currently on cooldown.

If you wanna get good, figure out how to effectively weave cds together with what you have available. You're guaranteed to lose dps if you use the same combo for every situation, because every situation is not ideal or has the same geometry. Cable->Shadow burst is better than pend->whipsaw for instance if the boss is gonna turn around right after the last hit of sb would connect.

Pend->whipsaw is more dps but it doesnt have the benefit of being able to front load all its damage into the singular point before the boss turns around, and instead just does steady damage throughout the entire animation. So dps actually changes based on stuff like that when you have different skills that apply damage at different rates. Same way that fireblast can be taken advantage of to cast it while the boss is turning around, and then having it land right as its back faces you.

You do know that the "back" position only changes after the boss is completely done moving, right?

Obviously, thats why you can shadow burst for backcrits as the boss is turning and it looks like its hitbox isnt there.

Thats not true for all bosses, its a pain in the ass. Its not even consistent among the same bam, some of their animations have a dynamic hitbox that keep pace with their back and then the other attacks dont. Dickass bloodtalon is particularly bad for this.

If they just optimize the game and finally add housing (they were promising it since open beta), it would last for a couple of more years. With no new decent mmo soon, tera survives by default.

This was valid a year or two ago but TERA has become complete shit. Gear progression is garbage. The content has all been garbage except for MAYBE one boss per major patch. Costumes have been garbage for a long time. The +15 grind is garbage. Class balance is beyond garbage.

This game is dead and the corpse only remains animated due to closet pedophiles who refuse to let their wide-hipped lolis go.

My friend Rodd Toward told me about the Elder Scrolls Online, I think you should give it a try.

The ones that you actually pay for are decent, like FFXIV.

yeah i exhausted myself on tab target after running emerald nightmare in WoW a bunch of times. shit after years of playing it in general it's come to bother me that playing a melee class feels so underwhelming unless it's pvp, and even then it's like there's two classes that are even viable cause they're ridiculous somehow.
