Generally because it outperforms every medium at it's BR and sometimes above both in gun performance and maneuverability

I don't think any of the Cancer II tanks are specifically OP, it's just that Germany at 6.7 has an entire lineup of extremely potent tanks while every other nation has tanks with critical flaws or their only good tank stuck in a premium bundle

I find nothing more annoying than killing a Tiger II P at 6.7 because I know that just means they coming back to my location with a Tiger II H or Panther II or the fucking Sla. 16.

Every other nation I kill a tank and I expect the team to have one less heavy/medium tank, so we can sweep the map and end the game quickly.

It's armor is getting unfucked soon, but even with HEAT-FS it's a massively oversized M60A1 that reloads slower and is slower.

War thunder has bounce mechanic for HEAT completely wrong

HEAT shells, HEAT-FS included, have hard impact angle limit for fuzes to work.

For example, WW2-era M67 HEAT for 105 mm howitzer could penetrate 130 mm of armor, which in theory would allow it to penetrate glacis of T-34 (45 mm at 60 degree = 90 mm) easily. However fuze limit was about 62 degree, so if tank was angled by more than 20 degree from direction of fire, compound angle would exceed limit of fuze, and shell would simply fail to detonate.

It's also why 90 mm HEAT-FS M348 failed to defeat glacis of IS-3 tanks used by Egytian army during Six-day War. Despite having more than enough penetration: 300 mm vs ~262 mm (110 mm at 55 + 43 degree angles), compound angle of over 65 degrees was too much for M348 to fuze.
