pistols are useful

>enemies with +3 HP from dark events
>faceless hunt mission right after
>its the haven without any mechs

oh boy I cant fucking wait

Nth for important tip.
The very moment the AVATAR timer appears and it's counting down, you HAVE to infiltrate the black site no matter what.

Base infiltration is 16 days with no one assigned. Full squad is 28+ days. Boosting the infiltration will bring a full squad down to 19 days.

Legendary difficulty has 24 days total on the timer. Commander and lower has 28 days.

Be quick. Otherwise you'll be starting up a new campaign like myself.

Only if you have some pistol perks from the AWC
>getting fan fire as the first AWC perk
Damn son

Nah, the counter is pretty much independent from the missions, they just happened to fill the bar just then.

...

I dont care how many times I have to reload like a shitter to get this shot, I have to find out if you can execute the traitor before they turn into a faceless.

>the counter is pretty much independent from the missions, they just happened to fill the bar just then.
What?

I thought the geneva convention is only supposed to ban things that are ineffective anyway. Banning useful stuff sounds like just a pretext for suing war losers.

Given how faceless works in vanilla, hurting the hidden form will just do damage to the faceless for and activate it.

>reload to get a shot
you do realize that seeded rng means you'll always miss the same shot because you're rolling the same number every time, right?

Nothing ineffective about mines. Problem is that they stay effective long after the conflict is over.

Well thats a fucking downer

All you have to do is use a slightly different order in actions to get a different result. So even just moving somebody else before making that shot will change it to a different roll.

You were just unlucky

Right, I thought they restrict war crimes to stuff that's inhumane without being extra effective, like hollow point bullets. If they're banning legit effective weapons, which either side will use if push comes to shove, then it's just a way for winners to sue losers.

Picked up SWAT 4 on GOG and I am very pleased with how nice and accessible the sound files are. I'll go through these later and make some "Sir, you're in my spot." Voice packs.

>hollow points
>not effective

Silly user.

>I thought they restrict war crimes to stuff that's inhumane without being extra effective
Meh, I'm sure that is their stated purpose, but no one actually believes that flamethrowers and napalm aren't effective weapons of war. It bans torture too. It's more virtue signaling than anything else and usually the only people held accountable are western nations.

Abiding the GenCon against countries that haven't even signed it, stupidity.

Well the idea is that it's more economically harmful if you wound the enemy soldiers rather than killing them.

>You were just unlucky
Did you not read what I said? Long War 2 1.1 patch notes states that Legendary difficulty has 24 days total on the AVATAR timer. Commander and lower has 28 days. Base Infiltration for the Black Site is 16 days without people. That's by default for everyone. Adding more people increases the time--for me it increased to 28 days because I was a full squad of magnetic/laser weapons and predator armor. If you're talking about the total time after I had chosen my operators then yes, that varies between each person who does a black site. But 16 days base infiltration is default for everyone, so depending on how many people you send, what equipment they bring, etc you're looking at about 6-8 days added on at the least assuming that you don't go full madman with only conventional stuff.
>stealth run it with 1 person
I didn't think of that till now. Still wouldn't have helped me since I had 7 days left till the timer finished and I didn't realize this magnificence till then. Unlucky about not realizing this sooner? Sure. But the facts still remain.

Hollowpoints are better at disabling hajis, then you can just tap again if no one's looking, otherwise it's mountains of paperwork. The regulations are moronic. Marines aren't even allowed to knife downed muds.

Help me fucking decide on which class to use for my LW2 playthrough

Forgot link: strawpoll.me/12227939

The commander is pretty fun, but I also like playing an ethereal mastermind too.

I don't understand the question

That's per block of progress. Dark events may increase it though.

The AVATAR timer has appeared. The AVATAR timer ONLY appears when all blocks are full.

Oh, so then it's a git gud issue.

Petty.

So I guess it's a bad idea to remove mods mid playthrough?

BF4 Ports When?

Yellow alert.

>extract VIP mission
>seemingly no enemies and no VIP icon either
>only extraction location icon
>reloading doesn't work

WTF?

Depends on the mod.

>Patrols behind your team
>Crits your waifu's ass
>*heh, nothing personal xcom

More MGS ports when?

Hello everyone my name is user and I save scum

Kys

hello user

>can't extract

ayy lmao

the faceless dark event is actually good for you because you can build more meme beacons

Time to own the place.

BF1 ports when?

My game is bugged to where I'm on a VIP rescue/extract mission but there's no VIP or enemies.

I can't even extract my soldiers at the evac point, and reloading does nothing. Also, everything seems sped up and for some reason I see stats regarding stealth/detection on the upper right. WTF did I do?

>Marines aren't even allowed to knife downed muds.
Unnecessary. We aren't in Korea, and we're in no danger of running out of boolet. Any Marine who wants to knife a downed enemy instead of just shooting him is a savage and needs more discipline.

What the butt is up with the Workshop? Gaben trip over the goddamned server cables or something?

>Unnecessary. We aren't in Korea, and we're in no danger of running out of boolet. Any Marine who wants to knife a downed enemy instead of just shooting him is a savage and needs more discipline.
gtfo

Fuck you, neverserved. There's a reason that we have discipline and Haji does not.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with putting down the enemy, knife or bullet. It's only undisciplined if it's against current policy, there's nothing undisciplined about the act itself.

>Install Long War 2
>Deactivate all mods but my cosmetic shit
>Crashes when I open the black market
>crashes if I try to manually assign someone to the team

Why are video games so hard?

The first step to fixing your life is admitting that you have a problem. Tell us more, user

I think that XCOM2 RNG is probably reseeded when you load a save. At least I'm pretty sure I've had things happen differently after loading a save.
XCOM1 had a completely deterministic RNG, though. It actually made savescumming easier in some ways. You could load a save and take the three shots you already hit, with the same outcomes, and then do an extra action to get a fresh result for the one shot you missed the last time.

>I think that XCOM2 RNG is probably reseeded when you load a save.
It isn't except in one area, which for some reason is hack rolls.

Because you like it that way, user.

Delete everything and reinstall the game. Sometimes, the ghosts of dead rookies can infest your config files.

>Game is specifically designed to make savescumming hack results easy

>hack mech as the first action of the turn
>success
>mission is going fine
>game freezes on enemy turn
>have to quit and reload
>try to hack again as the first action
>hack percentages are now lower than before
>fail the hack

I'm pretty sure its reseeded if you make different moves anyway on the same save
, which is why Savescumming is so easy.

>western nations
>accountable
Has this ever actually happened?
You can't really enforce international law, anyway. The only time actual consequences come to effect is when one side has already lost the war. The warcrime trial is just for propaganda purposes. If the occupying army simply wanted someone dead, they could just SHOOT him.

Is it worth doing Alloy Plating in the Proving Grounds? Does it just grant a blanket improvement to all my ceramic plating or do I have to manufacture a bunch of new shit?

Kind of wish LW2 wasn't so vague about this sort of stuff.

Show me your multicam

>manufacture a bunch of new shit
This. You get one for completing the Proving Grounds project, and have to pay for the rest.

...

>Has this ever actually happened?
Idk, there has been attempts to bring US soldiers to International courts a couple of times, but fortunately no one has been dumb enough to let that happen. We still don't use stuff like napalm anymore, and we at least pretend not to torture people.

You also aren't allowed to shoot downed enemies. You need to call it in, they dispatch an officer and medics to the scene, the officer needs to write a full report and the downed mud gets sent to whatever medical facilities you have on site.

>lightning
>trigger discipline
>3D
>resting the stock next to your armpit
>using one hand to aim a rifle
Bitch is asking for a bruise and going to miss.

Well that's garbage. Are there any must-build Proving Grounds projects (other than the obvious plasma nades and mandatory skulljack) or is it mostly pointless in the early game when you're still strapped for supplies?

I'm playing Long War 2 and I never seem to get any enemy corpses after fights, I'm not using explosives or anything. I've killed 2 or 3 squad leaders but I can't get a body so I can make the skulljacker, anybody else experience this? Saw nothing on the steam forum.

You can't get bodies from missions that require you to evac

Any mission you have to evac for isn't going to give corpses.
If "eliminate all hostiles" is part of the mission objective, you will get corpses.

>like 6 months in
>advent are now rolling berserkers and heavy mecs when i only have basic lasers
>have no alloys/elerium at all to get predator and advanaced lasers
i think its time for a new campaign
also how do you guys get an effective amount of alien mats early game? barely found any

But they all require you to evac so how the fuck can I get them?

Buy the from the black market and render corpses.

Raids and base defense missions

Thanks, I've never had a defense mission come up and only one raid which didn't have any leaders in.

Beagle found the Tweet Creator.

>CROOKED Council

>Resistance members rescue mission
>Everything is going to shit
>Manage to get to the final stretch with both VIPs and everyone barely alive
>Specialist and gunner covering a doorway while the others are out of LOS getting closer to extraction
>Last turn
>Specialist gets sectoid mindfucked and is disoriented
>Everyone is able to extract but the specialist is 3 tiles too short
>Put him in heavy cover hoping to save him on a later mission
>Gets shot and dies

I dont think Im cut out for commander, he was even my first officer too, RIP.

>hack an advent mec
>somehow this also gives me mind control of a viper that was standing next to it

lmfao i have no idea how a glitch like this happens but ill take it

OK

My Sides are OUT

you have to go on for them

...

coilguns ignore armor?

What are the most important buildings to go for in LW2 early on?

GTS for officers

send help all my assaults keep dying

Use command to keep them alive.

At what point do you start considering building workshops and AWC and such? Workshops feels like it was a massive waste of time on my first campaign so fa, AWC is ok but it feels I've sunk too much into two buildings that don't really help hugely.

Workshop probably isn't worth it, but AWC means more perks and less wound time.

Is the Max Squad Size Fix mod not necessary anymore?

I might restart I'm maybe a few months in and it feels like I've blown my load on stupid things, which is a shame because I haven't had anyone die yet and I've got some pretty decent squads.

>It's only undisciplined if it's against current policy
Wrong. If your enemy is still kicking enough that you feel a need to "put him down", it's better to do it with a firearm. It's safer for the trooper in addition to being more touchy-feely U.N. humane.

Unless you're trying to avoid detection, there is no reason to risk getting in close enough to kill a downed enemy with a knife other than pure-D bloodlust.

There are also reasons for this. HUMINT being the primary one, plus the fact that any enemy that knows he faces execution is much less likely to surrender.

what is the best starting continent for enemy unkown

brasil

why is the tower mission even a thing

Excuse me user this tiny octopus needs your help.

Is there a mod to equip my doods with the same set of gear faster?

For example I can currently afford only ten magnetic weapons. Finding them and changing them over from squads and people then fucking about with mods, then doing the same with armour is frankly just an annoyance I could live without.

I'd just like a button that gives them all laser guns if I have them in my stock.
If you can tell me what mod that might be it will make tiny octopus really happy.

>go on solo rescue op with rookie because lol second mission 3 day timer and shinobi is otherwise occupied
>stelf all the way up to the cell
>avoid FUCKING DRONES by one tile
>feelin good
>check to see if rook can make it to evac in one turn
>confirm escape route
>pop cell

>engineer VIP has 12 movement

Not Created Equally was a mistake.

all of my officers die
the people who aren't officers usually live
