All of the character development in Devil Survivor 2 is locked behind the fate routes. You have to spend time with them to get their depths.

No, Atlus is going to stick to handhelds with 2D sprites because that's how mainline can make money. They just need Doi to be on point, just like he was during 4 and Apocalypse.
All characters in DeSu 2 are shitty. No exception. Some however are just far worse than others. A shame really, since I do enjoy the designs for some of them but the writing just ruins everything.

What depth? All the DeSu 1/2 characters are walking bland anime tropes. Some just have some luck and are likable or have effort put into their dialog.

Don't get me wrong. I really loved the overall plot of DeSu 2. Gameplay tweaks, character designs, music (sans the really bad auction theme) were great as well. It's just that the writing is really atrocious and the endings were pretty dull. And those "comedy" parts were cringy as fuck.

Haha thanks, I sold my PS4 shortly after impulse buying it cause I wasn't feeling it; always been a largely /vr/ guy with modern Nintendo and Microsoft consoles. I do love my PS3 though. I just love games, whatever. Looking forward to ATLUS games in general on the Switch. Their 3DS/DS output has been so good, I can't imagine it will be bad on a mostly portable HD console. My hype is definitely more general, but shit that HD trailer looked cool.

I'm not really feeling anything towards either PS4 or a Switch to be honest. With or without a SMT game. But I really hope Nintendo pulls their shit together and actually make the Switch at least a moderate success and Sony works on boosting the library on the PS4. Xbone can suck dicks.

MC gets credit because he's the only one who has the charisma to keep the others in line, rally them behind a noble cause, and make women lust after him depending on the player's choices. He can even get away with peeking into the peeping at the girls during their exams, only getting a light scolding for Otome.
Yamato on the other hand is the man with the plan and a good idea of what to do after the Septentriones are defeated. Most of the JP staff are sympathetic to his cause, with only Fumi giving a slightly believable reason for her decision to side with JP.

It's cringeworthy how most of the characters's reason is "meh I guess". Makoto and Io in particular drove me insane with their wishy washy attitude.
However, in contrast, Daichi having the balls to stand up and offer a third way was fucking surprising considering how he was cowardly buttmonkey during the entire game.
I would have been happy with a 3DS successor too, maybe we'll still see one. Though honestly I hope we don't and Ninty actually focuses all their energy on the Switch. I love my Xbone though tbqhfam. I can play all my JRPGs elsewhere, and I play Forza and mostly backwards compatible 360 games I bought last gen on the X1.

Makoto is just very loyal to Yamato and wants to pay her debt to him for giving her a job and a purpose. Io just don't fit into any extremes, which is why she sides with Daichi: The both of them want to change the world but not thru either Ronaldo and Yamato's ways. Otome on the other hand just wants to mommy the world.

Makoto was loyal but it always seemed like she was a push away from giving up and siding with Ronaldo. Specially at the near end game. She even defies direct orders from Yamato and doesn't kill some of the rioters and shit.
Too bad Ronaldo decides to kill her on the Sixth Day if you side with him before the route split. Really, the only thing preventing Makoto from siding with Egalitarian is Ronaldo himself.
Why did he killed her though? It's been a while since I played DeSu 2 and only went through Ronaldo's route once. She seemed such an interesting character at the beginning of the game.

Yeah, not every game, they've been rolling out 3-5 titles at a time (they have to do playtesting on everything) and Catherine just got added recently. The emulator is pretty impressive and actually improves the framerates and performance of most games.
