So I actually finished the game awhile back but haven't really gotten to talk to anyone about it, so some of the specifics will be just a little vague.

I loved the game. I thought that Goro needs maybe 15 minutes of more writing to be one of their best characters. I thought that the supporting cast was only lacking in part of the Christmas cake area, and aside from that was top tier. I wish the end of the game was a little longer from a gameplay perspective.

The main thing I want to say is that the way it addressed its problems was definitely different from what I expected since it wasn't a

It's a lot more defeatist in that sense, but in showing this it feels like they're trying to say that there's more to life than just accepting x as the standard and eventually turning into something like it yourself, and you can stay z if you work for it, but it really can't be done alone.
This felt like the reason for having the Phantom Thieves be social outcasts, and then solve the co-op problems through Mementos even when it wasn't totally necessary, like it was a stand-in for outside help/good will in general, but fuck if I really know what Atlus was thinking. Using Phantom Thieves for this purpose in the first place is symbolic as fuck but there's too many different ways you can look at it.

his coop is automatic because he ended up bonding with joker despite everything, it being non automatic wouldn't make sense in that regard. i'm also hard pressed to think about how they'd work in his coop being non automatic in since you'd miss relevant information about his character if you don't end up doing it(like him mentioning his mother's death beforehand in the cafe or something). and, y'know, that ends up being a big deal.
