Can we all agree that DaS3 is the easiest game in the series thanks to the bloodborne stamina and heal mechanics being mixed with souls formula

Dark Souls 3 confirmed hardest Souls game last thread, difficulty fags with nostalgia go home

No, we can't.
Fuck off to /v/.

I found dark souls 2 to be eaiser. It had some difficult encounters, but the bosses were pretty easy. It got harder in the dlc though.

10$
assuming the next DLC is equally good per unit of size (and that the size increase is proportional to the price increase), then the season pass will have been worth it.

Tbh I think DS1 was harder but ONLY thanks to bullshittery mechanics/area/whathaveyou.

>american time on Veeky Forums
>pointless, retarded arguing instead of simple game discussions begins once again

>dat glimpse of Velstadt kneeling if you run out of Vendrick's Memory

dat fealty

It got harder than vanilla dark souls 2 that is.

>the fact that unpatched 1 was more challenging proves that anything less than it wasn't difficult
the reason why it's hard to name 5 games that are more difficult is because it isn't a clear criteria

Assuming you mean "learning and non-menial talent required to pass," I'd say games like hotline miami were harder (unless you used the rabbit mask in 1, but if we're comparing design mistakes like that then I can just as easily say that manus is the easiest boss ever cause you can shoot him from outside the fog) given the broader and more complex array of bad options I has to sift through to find the best course of action.

Most of the other games I find more challenging than souls are PvP games (harder in the sense that they're harder than souls's PvE and PvP combined), though those are a sketchy comparison since a lot of the difficulty comes from players rather than developers, even though developers may have given players a large amount of room to create difficulty (which is less the case in souls PvP, save for when you make it literally impossible for an opponent to win, which typically requires minimal ingenuity). I'm referring more to things like quake than fighting games; a fair bit of the skill in fighting games is what I'd call menial (though making players have to practice combos is often a necessary evil on the developers part).

There were bosses in games like undertale which were harder than souls bosses. Obviously the game as a whole is more laid back, so I'd be hesitant to call it harder, and there are some ancient wyveren tier fights since the game isn't prioritizing difficulty, but from boss to boss in souls games you don't really change much. you need to figure out when their hitboxes are active, then you can usually roll in almost any which way. In UT hitboxes are displayed in an obvious fashion, and you're expected to figure out what to do about them instead of just identifying them and using iframes every time.

Word limit/oregano.

Was that image of a summoned magic curved greatsword legit for dlc2?

I think it's the 30 second apart bonfires that do it. DS3 PVE is easy as fuck unless you're a sorcerer because rolling/healing is brainless.

The difficult bosses are the ones that punish rolling, but Champ and Sully can get parry spanked no problem.

This leaves NK and SoC, with SoC not being too bad overall and NK only having his rough second stage.

>european time on Veeky Forums
>thread is dead

>it can be cheesed so it's easy
Those can mostly be chalked up to design oversights on the developer's part. Manus can be shot from outside the bossfog, people still call him one of the harder bosses of ds1. Not to mention pre patch DWGR

Husbando material right here

it's the pontiff Curved sword WA

Fucking Ice Rats.

burnt ivory king is more of a man to be frank

aw damn.

I really want to summon a curved greatsword

get destroyed

>DaS3 imagery and gameplay
>music is of Sir Alonne, a DaS2 boss

It's more of a shame that DaS2's director decided to ignore him. If he had been done right the first time, then maybe Miyazaki would have saw fit to bring more of him back than his greatshield.

>he doesn't keep following you, becoming stronger and having fewer weaknesses each time (e.g. can't be parried anymore)
>he doesn't use a different weapon with each encounter, and with each defeat he doesn't drop a fragment of his soul, allowing you to trade for his weapons which gradually unlock
>he doesn't use the environment against you, like you did against him at FoFG
>you can't get his armor after defeating him one final time

There was some dark souls 2 intro footage.

I think that Jailers are way creepier than Mind Flayers.
The fact that it almost looks like they're floating when they walk.
That creepy little laugh they have as they creepily run toward you...
Or maybe it's just my fetish for masks.
All of it seems creepier than tentacle face.

Games design with real difficulty in mind would pose a challenge against a player trying their hardest to win.
Take whole actual genres that require some effort from the player like Bullet Hells where at best a boss has one blind spot in a single pattern and everything else forces the player to not hold back. Or roguelikes RNG fuckery, even if you pick the more forgivable ones like DCSS, they still require more of the player than Souls does. Or rhythm games, specially those that forgive nearly no mistake.

Souls series, even 3, is a thing people have to actively gimp themselves to add challenge whereas games that are hard from the get go ask nothing else from the player but that they clear it without pulling any punches

>RNG is difficulty
what
In most cases RNG is completely player-independant. Reacting to a randomly generated level might create difficulty through variety, but "hey, this time you rolled the dice and got a spear that deals a 10th the damage" in the roguelike sense isn't.

>rhythm games
I mean they're probably the best thing to compare the souls games too due to the similarities, but if anything I'd say what makes souls easy aside from cheese is just the fact that they're essentially watered down rhythm games as far as boss combat is concerned. You just do it a bunch of times until it's muscle memory, there's often little to no ingenuity. Yeah, it's hard, but only in the most straightforward sense. It's difficult in the same sense that going to the gym and getting yolked is difficult.

>press circle
>nothing happens
>die

>Manus can be shot from outside the bossfog
I just knew about this...

Best mob in DS3 imo, along with the Failed Dragons

They're just annoying. Just rush them so they can't bullshit my HP even while I'm staggering them.

Something about how their strengths were attributed made me apathetic after a while. I was usually pretty conviced I was going to lose my health either way, so I stopped worrying about it, and they often couldn't realyl catch me. I'd have preferred it if the slow-down effect came on more quickly and the health drain were slower.

Neither are creepy to me, but both are a cool challenge. Just wish that section of the game was better designed or rather, expanded.

7 days until Nioh ruins the souls series

>only 5 weapon types
>mystic arts are just generic buffs to your playstyle

>Archbis**p
Fucking FromSoft

>Dark Souls gave me a fetish for masks/humanoids without a human face

What fetish did Dark Souls give you ?

how grating would an offhand estoc / warped sword build be?

ds2

>Dark Souls gave me a fetish for masks/humanoids without a human face
more like haydee

>What fetish did Dark Souls give you
Nuns kinda; prior to this point I'd ironically only seen them portrayed through pornography, where they were usually pretty un-nunlike from the get-go instead of pulled into the mindset against their will. It's less of a direct dominance thing and more of a hatefucking thing almost, I just want to give Irina dark tomes because I'm mad she's able to be so un-edgy that easily or something. Though ds more or less just gave me the idea of that, I don't think of ds directly when those things come to mind.

I have a SL 100 Pyromancer, mainly using the gargoyle spear and Onyx blade and I want to respec the character for the upcoming dlc as I never tried the Demon Fist.
How do I build this? I figured I must have a bit more End to make numerous strike and a bit more physical stats like str or dex
Or perhaps I just need to focus on Int and Faith?

demon fists are str weapon

Fuck really? I don't want to do another str character. I thought that the int and fth scaling mattered more

Did someone say Donger Man?

How do I fix my game being minimized everytime I click on my second monitor?

the solution you're looking for is borderless fullscreen window mode

t. guy with 2 monitors

pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Glossary:Borderless_fullscreen_windowed

open gesture menu

how terrible you need to be not only to need summons in ds2 but actually get hit by any of his attacks when you can strafe him to death

Literally just google "borderless gaming".

Not him, but when I run DaS3 in borderless fullscreen I get weird lines, well not lines, more like tearing. Not really visible when not moving but the lines are still here. It gets really visible when moving.

That dog kinda looks like Nito from the thumbnail, with the nose as the skull.

>only difference with mound makers is that they invade a little higher than reds and have invasion rules
what a waste

Fug, I thought that was the whole thing. Didn't notice it was a dog.

protip: look more closely at the video, it's not personal footage

Deactivate vsync in game and in your graphics card software, then download and install Riva Tuner. Lock your frames with. It'll also give you better frame times, therefore a smoother experience.

When does this shit fuck off? It's been a couple weeks now. Want to go back and start creating other builds.

mound makers get different behavior for the white soapstone as well

Haha PCfat.

You probably still have invalid content present. Only way to be certain is to delete all of your characters and start again.

>using CE
I'm going to laugh if/when From retroactively bans everyone who ever used that. Especially after seeing what Valve did to lmaobox users.

They can also invade boss rooms, shit's fun as all hell.

souls newfag here. if i want to start pvping should i go all the way to ng+2 for the rings or are the +0 rings good enough?

+0 rings are fine.

have they said the recomended level range for the ringed city?

Depends on your SL
For SL100/120/125 you should probably get the +1/+2's(or life+3)
For lower SL pvp(50-ish) the +0's will do

That being said the differences are small and not that big of an impact on how well you do

thanks

Nah I deleted literally everything.

that would be a waste of time.
start pvping when you're past SL50

>past SL50
spam that red orb in the undead settlement as soon as you get it nigga

alright thanks for the answers
im gonna be sl 50 range so ill stick with the +0s

>not PVPing at SL30
Better to get started at low levels, where more people don't know what they're doing.

No, but I'm guessing it's just before fighting soul of cinder. Would fit perfectly too.

>Soul newfag
>have him fight twinks or ganks with little weapon variety

most players are dogshit so it wont really matter

the increase is very small anyway

If it was das3 he wouldn't even attack

>Weapon with really fun move set
>Can barely use it in PvP because anything other the fastest R1 spam will get me killed

Which weapon?

They basically do already, but it's piss easy to get around the bans. And because valve and fromsoft don't have any connection with their servers valve doesn't give a shit what you do in dark souls 1/2/3

>dogs in DaS

Dogs are annoying in every game

>yfw you get trolled by an invader the same way you troll people when invading.

Crow Quills. I'm actually exaggerating a little, some of the L1 moves have let me catch and kill people trying to get out of my range.

>6 wolves + big wolf while an archer is shooting timed explosives at you
Fuck the snowfield desu

Not as bad as das 3 ones
>Poke with tiny dagger
>Dog was pushed across the room
Bloodborne engine was a mistake

Punching a dog and watching it go flying is so satisfying though

What's up with the beginning of Dark Souls 2? It's easily some of the most unforgivable parts of the series. With no ADP, terrible stamina in a game with a very large focus on stamina management, and no 100 physical shield, it's pretty brutal. Combined with only 1 estus flask, maybe 2, a dwindling supply of lifegems, and the HP loss on death, the beginning is easily way harder than any other part of the game.

slight giantess fetish

>without a human face
but then how can they provide thee succ?

*unzip*

>dogs in DeS

Nameless king is hard with 20 vig 20 end

Just beat the game and I am so fucking shit at farming souls. Got my ass handed to me all the time with the damn winged knights.

This is growing on me
Last time I did the Dancer I was having real trouble focusing on the fight

I will provide the succ

S-stop

>You can literally drink flasks and use gestures while staying in his hit distance between combos
>Hard
Don't even try to play old souls games

Dude you just run through. I get the millwoodbow as early as I can on every character.

stray demon is so hard

They're fun to fight at first but once you find out that their gimmick can be completely trivialized in many ways, they're wasted potential without another pressuring factor. It's justified that they're naturally weak in close quarters and can be separated for 1v1. But for new players who find out this tactic, it becomes a tiring grind and for experienced ones who have tried more than one way, killing them is a joke. They're the only thing that's legit threatening other than the basilisk spam.

>invade some guide using shitter using hidden body to cheese the game
>he uses it against you thinking it actually makes him invisible.
Silly motherfucker.

Just want them large titanite shards though
Ds1 bosses suck dick for the most part.

gwyn so difcult

At least, he could punish you for being retarded
Aside of being hit by Soul of Cinder 4x combo, the biggest punishment in the das3 is needing to roll away and use instant flask

what did Vicar Amelia look like while she was still human?

>I will provide the succ
fair enough
