THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST

Your attempt at a maymay is sad.

Plus I thought you had to be 18 to post on here?

Dirt bike and dual sport riders, don't even think about waving to real bike riders like myself.

CBR600 best daily sport commuter/occasional racer/local mountain carver.

Cheap to own, easy to work on, reliable forever.

Discuss.

we don't think about you at all

So...slingshot rider?

>not the glorious 2000 yellow one

Seriously, how bad is the lack of torque lower in the rev range?

Is it really painfully slow and nearly impossible to get up a hill, or is it just relatively slow compared to what the bike is capable of?

Wow, an actually really intelligent question here.

Some of what you've read is true - the bike is slower while it's under about 8,000 RPM. I mean, it'll obviously still blow away any cruiser, and it fucking hauls ass, but it really starts screaming above that rev reange.

The tradeoff is that its decent around town as a daily driver. That, and the fact that the powerband is well-known to be smoother than R6 or GSX. Those bikes tend to suddenly jump into power - a trait which can be hard to control for some riders. The CBR's available power ramps up more smoothly. Basically, you know it when you're approaching "race mode."

lol

I was just curious, coming from one of these and hankering for something lighter, with more points to hook bungee nets and soft bags to

>blow away any cruiser
Nah pham. Rocket 3 will smoke you easy

With 48 flbs of torque most cruisers would out drag it.

The new thunderstrokes have something like 120 ft lbs

I knew that they were high but holy shit.

lol, yeah, okay, the Triumph may be faster in a straight line, but when it's time to make a turn, say good bye to your foot pegs.

...

Sure thing street rossi.

Way to move the goalposts

>honduh riders
>out turning anyone

also
>turning
>not cornering
lol

Yea. Top is around 140 ish or so so not super crazy. But still nice with all that torque

Compared to the equivalent harley that p good.

What's the best bike to ride for a whole day that ain't a Harley?

Indian Springfield.

They embarrass harley in every way
Or the chief classic/vintage

Cruisers that'll blow away a cbr600
Ducati xdiavel
Suzuki boulevard
Harley Davidson vrod
HD Fat Boy S
Honda Valkyrie
Triumph Thunderbird/rocket III
Yamaha MT-01
Victory Hammer

Here in WA we have these things called "mountains"
I hear they're popular in yurop and nippan too.

Goldwing, any sport tourer, any ADV.

so it'll be nice to have more torks than an obselete 600 inline four

Here in WA we have these things called "liberals" that like to straighten out roads and post troopers on abandoned rural routes for "safety reasons"

the best mountain roads in WA aren't very sport bike or cruiser friendly
no cops up there either

hm

anyone else not able to upload images?

me too

same

R1200rt
>smooth boxer engine
>Plush heated seats
>shaft drive
>great fuel range and economy
>perfect mix of sport and touring

Just got some bar ends and techspec tank pads to throw on.

Error. Upload failed.

>heated grips

>Honda Dio (Production Ending)
Wow fuck everything.

have you guys put something like rainx on your visor to bead off rain drops?

Nah I just ride faster

No, get a gud helmet

>CBR600
>Cheap to own, easy to work on, reliable forever.
I think you meant single cylinder dual sport
"oops, cracked my fairing, gotta spend a couple hundred bucks to replace it"
"oops, gotta work on x, gotta take off all this plastic first"
"oh no my clipons broke off"
>getting the attention of every cop in the area
>fancy bike to attract thieves
>you needed to buy a tank protector just to prevent scratching your shit up
and it goes on and on
working on a dual sport is like working on a bicycle it's so quick and easy

Guys are GSXR's and Yzf r6's bad bikes or something. They are suspiciously abundant and cheap as heck on craigslist

They sold a gorillion of them, so the market is flooded with used ones. Supply is high, demand isn't as high, which means that the prices are low.

What site is this? I know I'll be called the newest of fags

also, gotta lift on your ds?
>lift it up by hand onto a log/milk crate/bucket/$20 dirt bike stand

dont get a carbed r6 unless you want rekt cylinders, 2003+ r6 are fine

Ready for a blog post?

I got my new Vulcan S a few weeks ago, and on my first ride out I lost control and went off road

Should've started on a used Rebel or something...

Big dent in the gas tank now, and I'm laid up with fractured vertebrae

When I get heal up I'm buying a used Rebel to learn the ropes on, I had less than 20 miles experience when I crashed

Best part is I'm financing the new bike, and I'm not even skilled enough to ride it hahahaha

Cycle Ergo

cycle-ergo.com

Pretty neat to fiddle with

Yup, now you know why everyone recommends buying a shitty used bike to make your mistakes on while learning.
But don't waste your time with a rebel, that's a bit TOO slow. What specifically happened on the Vulcan? Whiskey throttle? Can't countersteer?
Heal and up just get back on that thing, learning from whatever mistake you made. Keep the dented tank as a reminder while you're still learning, then get it fixed or replace it once you've been riding enough to be more confident. Take it easy.

-1/+2

"fixes" 600s imo.

perfectly appropriate bike to learn on, you just need to learn.

How hard did you try to learn or did you just start riding?

Is it worth selling my 2005 Honda Shadow VLX 600 for a 1995 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500
I heard they are light for having a big engine around 650lbs and have good acceleration
My shadow is still fun and comfortable to ride it's just slow

so you just didnt do the msf course or what

why are image uploads dead

Hello is this the daily boat thread??

I'm a merchant Sailor, does that count?

Just a lack of experience

I got spooked, almost falling over while stopped on a steep incline, rolled on the throttle of something much more responsive/faster than I'm used to and went sailing off the side of the road

I had taken it... 8 months ago

I was a bit shaky riding again, but decided to head out onto the open road instead of a parking lot to get used to the bike

Still a novice, less than 3 days/20 miles experience

Not only that, but I didn't even toodle around on it for a bit to get used to it before heading off

I suppose I do just need to man up and go practice with it before getting ANOTHER bike

Yes

Toot toot Mr. Tug Boat

.

>I had less than 20 miles experience when I crashed
>Best part is I'm financing the new bike
We told you bro.

Still looking for a dual sport, but gosh this is such a clean ZX600.

chambana.craigslist.org/mcy/6013185623.html

Idiotic behaviour can't be treated. I'm sorry, but we have to put you down before you kill yourself.

Wait, Craigslist has reasonable and friendly ads? Thought it was all just hillbillies and jackasses

VFR. 200* for kick, 1200 if you can't shift, 2014 if you need tcs.
First and last mod--upgrade the electrics.

Usually it is.

It's not a bad ad, it's been taken care of decently, he's not asking *too*much, and the info and grammar is fine. If only I didn't want a DS...

You probably would have done the same thing if you were riding pic related or any other bike for that matter.

Just do what you said you were going to, go practice in a parking lot, bonus points if you take a buddy who is confident in their riding ability who can give point out any of your bad habits.

>can't post images on Veeky Forums

the fucks the point of coming here then?
fuck this website im out

The vtec is shit compared to the fi but the fi is ugly as fuck compared to the vtec.

All you can hope for is he had great insurance.

Octo pls suck my dick bby

Did they ever fix the DCT? I heard the first version shifts at weird times.

we post images yet?
No. fuck sake why?

Post boipucci

Post boipucci

just got my Honda Africa Twin CRF1000L today,
holy fuck I'm psyched. I should never have left honda (used to have a Cb900). KTM were so shit, cheap and unreliable. This thing is comfortable, reliable, quick enough, versityle, balanced. So keen.

the only 600rr's worth buying are the 2003 - 2012. The newer bike is fugly as fuck.

Easier to drive price down.

2003 had conventinal forks and looks shitty because of that.

I can't believe Honda still puts conventional forks on anything. They look so dated. I appreciate the practical difference is minimal but teh CB1100 would look so much better with USD forks.

>KTM
>Cheap
top kek m8, they are bits and pieces bikes made from all the most expensive aftermarket parts available

The stingy cunts own showa for gods sake.

Showa does make the forks and rear shocks used on bikes like that though...?

I dont think your dick will reach that far.

Yes, most jap bike forks/shocks are either kayaba or showa.

You need to leave that nigger island and come to cucklifornia bby

yamaha used to own a significant portion of ohlins

They only own pianos m8

He was saying that bikes like the cb1100 don't have showa suspension though

>Notice oil on the exhaust pipe
>And down the engine
>Looking around for a leak
>Notice the oil cap isn't done up at all
>Maybe half a turn thats it
>Been like that for weeks since I last check it
Do you ever wonder how your bike is still running? I swear I've done so much dumb shit to it

>learned to wheelie on this bike
>used to jump it 4x a week on the way to the city
>fork seals completely intact at 56,000 kms.
>mfw "muh fork seals" excuses

Bikes are hardy.

>Fork seal has been leaking for 6months
>still havent fixed it
This is my wheelie excuse.
