I don't think GM is worried because Corvette's have a cult like following. It would be pretty funny if the ZL1 is actually better than the next C8 Z06. I feel like GM waited too long to give Camaro's the "premium" package. I'm not even a Camaro fan but the ZL1 looks like a fucking beast

The current ZL1 already did at 7:29. I'd expect this to be hovering around the 488 GTB in lap times.

So you pay more for a car that slower than a base ZL1 with the automatic? I don't get why it's manual only. The carbon fiber isn't going to make it faster than the auto version.
