I bet none of you have never actually taken the bus in your life. Fucking benchbusriders, you'll never know what it's like to be able to sleep 45 mins on the way to work or school, or browse the internet while riding, or do homework, etc.

first time I went to college it was a 2 hour commute one way. Later in the semester I'd get dropped off at the go-bus station and it cut down the commute to about hour and a half one way.

I'd gotten into that rhythm of taking controlled naps and waking up at my specific stops. Was pretty cash, but now that I have my license I can make the drive in 35 minutes (in good traffic)

Living in Mississauga makes public transit dildos. They don't have a grid style system like Toronto, so sometimes you gotta like 3 buses and it makes no damn sense. But license and car makes that a non-issue now.

I did once and I hated it. I was on the same bus with Shaquisha and Tyrone arguing about some stupid shit about why Tyrone was caught sleeping with another woman.

After that, i'm never riding a bus again.

>can't browse the internet while driving
Ask me how I know that you don't even have a license.

I had to last week when i went to pick up a charger for my bike
It was full of niggers and gipsies, all were either on the phone or staring away

That's what I'd guess from the description

I'm a paratransit bus driver. Ask me anything.

Is it comfortable?

I tend to use the train or the subway more but if I'm drunk somewhere late at night then bus it is
>tfw shitposting on Veeky Forums while busriding

Let me guess, going from est side 'sauga to Humber North?

Literally the exact same experience here, bussing took 2 fucking hours on three different busses (the 107 sucks big goat balls) but it's only a 30 minute drive

the local bus is okay, but adds 1-2 hour to any local commute that would normally take 30 minutes and isn't good for getting groceries or supplies
it's also overpriced, a year of bus tickets gets me a beater and gas money
>long distance buses like the hound
will not ride again, lowest form of transport and alcohol is necessary

lowbait, but I'll take it

could continue, but I think you got the point.

how many shits do u clean a month?

For the most part, yes. I'm 6'5'', so it's a bit short on leg room, but the seat is excellent, I have an Aux port, so I can listen to my podcasts while I drive, and I can drink my coffee on the go. The stock Ford stereo on the E-450s in fairly good, as well. I have decently new bus, and I try to keep the interior clean. A lot of how the job goes is contingent on your ability to keep your vehicle in good shape.

>mfw got head on a bus from a 50-yo woman
it was fucking amazing br/o/s take the bus

None yet. I do try to keep the interior in good shape by mopping it every morning before I start. Been in the field for five years so far. It's a pretty comfy job for Veeky Forumstists.

>the short bus

quebec
Although during rush hour you only see respectable people.

I make $30 an hour and get full benefits to drive the short bus. I ain't complaining.

I get car-sick in buses

central(ish) mississauga to centennial. Luckily I could walk to the 89 bus stop that goes straight to kipling/islington, which was a 45+ minute ride but the 50+ minute train ride from kip/isl to warden was FUCKING TORTURE LIKE HOLY SHIT!

The later ones were me gettinga ride to a go station and taking a train to union, a train ride upto yonge/bloor and a ~25 minute train ride to warden and a single bus to school.

Ontario public transit blows ass. Go-bus isn't that bad, but they still get busy as tits in the mornings

I get bus-sick in cars

the bus life is the comfy life

>in chiang-mai

best part was when the bus driver stopped at what looked like an abandoned city with a bus stop where they were cannibalizing other broken buses
a little pricey but best bus experience ever
way better than the train

this sounds terrible

I took my city's bus one time. Smelled like curry after I got off.

>ride bus
>get beheaded and eaten

while i was in school my home life wasn't so totally fucked that i needed to do any of those things on the bus

sorry you're black/a redneck

This. Several years ago I'd even perfected playing candy crush and driving at the same time. Still watch movies while I drive all the time

...

What fraction of your clientele are actually crippled?

How many hours a week, do you get overtime?

40-50%. I drive a lot of elderly people, as well as people who are temporarily disabled (like if they broke a foot or something which prevents driving.)

sounds comfy

40 hrs a week, usually they try to not work us overtime. All holidays count for 1.5 time, though.

Why don't more people see that the bus is a scam?

My area:
Bus is $2.50 (even more during "peek" hours)
That's $5 to and fro
Transit takes 2x the time
Cost of riding the bus daily to work is more than a fucking car payment

That's if you find a free seat. And even if you got a seat, bus suspension is shit and you are going to bounce like a basketball ball.

t. user from Madrid

So you pull ~$50,000 plus a year after taxes for driving a bus? Not bad at all.

Yeah, not to count the health and dental coverage, as well as the retirement.

I still take the bus because my uni is downtown and parking is too expensive. I got 2 parking tickets already

What the fuck, Veeky Forums? I thought busriders were socially adjusted adults.

Fuck the greyhound. Jesus fuck. I wanted to kill myself the whole time.

Have fun riding the niggers of public transit

Must suck to live in an area that doesn't offer an annual bus pass that discounts the prices per ride.

Sounds like a good life, bus-driver-bro.

Sat next to a bum who shat himself and a bus driver who soon got into fist fight with him after he peed on the floor. His pants were still full of shit during the fight

Every pro has its con

lel, I drive a Glaval bus too but mine's a larger one (28 passenger + 2 WC) and it's on a Ford F550, not an E Series.

The F Series actually has a better turning radius despite the longer hood believe it or not.

>I bet none of you have never actually taken the bus in your life

I have a bunch of times but I work late. That makes the transit center park and ride dangerous. The dindu can and have done muggins there year after year.

I wish mine was built on an F-series. The legroom on the E450 really gets to me after a while, plus the interior is pretty bad, unless you got a thing for hard plastics lol. Diesel or gas? Mine's got the 6.8 v10.

Des taking a waterpark bus count? if so, then pic related is what I've been on recently

Shuttles are okay because it's not like you're taking them every day.

>yfw buses make more power than your car

Mine has the 6.7 powerstroke, tons of power. We have around 5 identical buses to mine as well as a few with the V10 gassers.

The F Series has a way better interior and more legroom like you mentioned.

Come on, don't pretend they're not a blight on NA

I depended on transit for years until I got my first car at 26. Was just used that any errand would automatically be a 1h ordeal due to bus times. Holy fack did I see the light when what would be a pain in the ass transit was 15mins in a car. Grew up using Oakville,Burlington, Mississauga and Toronto transit. I now live in Brantford after buying a house.

stop posting that egghead slut will you

>traveling in the realm of the mole people
Enjoy your enslavement.

>he hasn't taken the buspill yet
Seriously, if any anons here are interested in a decent, fairly comfy job with decent benefits, get into your local paratransit company. I go on shift at 1:30 today, and will be on till about 9:30. If this thread is still active then, I'll post pictures and answer questions as I get layovers, coffee breaks, and the like.

I learned from the simpsons at a somewhat earlier age that public transportation is for losers.

I did for the first 23 years of my life
After getting a car I haven't touched one of the pieces of shit since

Although, I did enjoy when it was just me left on the bus on a warm afternoon long journey home, falling in and out of a super comfy sleep

stop being such a beta bitch and keep your seat, being pregnant doesn't entitle you to whatever you want. I only give up my seat for people with broken legs or whatever because they obviously can't stand

>quebec
>respectable

>Living in Mississauga

I thought we had bad traffic in Vancity till I drove the 401, I was sure there must have been a fatal crash or construction, but nope just normal rush hour.
I don`t know how you don`t have regular suicides on that highway as people loose all hope crawling along at 5kmh in some shitbox.

I drove a 60 foot articulated for 3 years till I decided to fuck it and go back to college

anything you want to know about the big bus?

I'm going by what I hear from NYC's MTA, but I heard that artic drivers only get paid half a dollar more to drive than a normal 40' bus. Is that true?

Compare to the literal white trash and the kids too cool to go to school they are.

t. david bouchard

It's not the pregnant that are barking, well mostly.
It's the damn old fossils that apparently think they're entitled to have a seat for having passed a certain age.

>10 hour bus ride on the hound
>Shitty stink child
>sitting behind me kicking my seat for 7 of those hours
>no alcohol
>retard mom doesn't notice or care
>AFTER 7TH HOUR LOSE MY FUCKING MIND
>kneel on my seat and stare at the kid
>he doesn't stop kicking
>STOP KICKING MY SEAT OR I WILL KICK YOURS
>he stops kicking
>mom actually notices her child is a shit, and mumbles an apology
>tell her to parent her child or i will
>back of the bus is looking at me
>half like a madman
>half like a savior

Don't do that

I'm gonna

I've never actually seen an articulated bus. All the public transit agencies in Wisconsin have 40' Gilligs or New Flyers for the most part.

Flatnose buses are the best, we have Bluebird school buses that are front engine flatnose and they're great for city driving.

What the fuck, that's awesome. All I get on the bus are smelly indians talking loudly on their phones.

My best experience was when 2 black kids started playing craps right there

could be there, but here we got payed the same

for sure ... I`m better at parallel parking a 40`footer than I am my volkswagen

The 2nd time I rode the bus the only gay guy in our town hit on me. I was 15. Only like 3.5 years ago

Gilligs? I drove Low Floors with the Cummins/Voith combo for a few years. Good buses.

New Flyers mostly, some Nova Buses
we still had MCIs and GM fisgbowl 40`ers in our fleet when I started.
The MCI was a licensed build of the GMC Classic

Busriders should all be rounded up in a bus and driven off a cliff. Busriders are the scum of the earth.

I used to build buses

If I took the bus to the factory, it would take me ~1.5hours.

If I drove, 10 minutes, which would be cut into 5 if I went WOT @200kmh, but I rarely did.

>7
>mom says i can't wander past 4 houses up or down my street
>bus stop in front of house 4
>lurked on their lawn for hours
>noticed a pattern in the buses
>always same drivers, same route numbers, same buss
>figured out buses just do big loops around the city and always end up back in front of house 4
>started using my allowance to tour the city via bus

Most of Veeky Forums probably hasn't figured that out yet

sounds nasty, but I'd like to read a greentext of it

I rode a 4 hour bus a couple times, wasn't awful but I'd rather not do it again.

Holy shit, is this name a meme or are we talking about someone specific?

my local transit authority runs Gilligs with the 8.3 Cummins ISC, not sure what trans though.

They typically do a rebuild at 200K or so and then the buses get auctioned off around the 350K mark when they aren't worth fixing any more.

They have some New Flyers but they're mostly older ones used as spares or on the routes that go into nigger areas.

> Nova

Haven't seen a GM bus in years and years. They were super common up until the 1990s then just suddenly disapeared.

Pic related is what I drive most of the time.

>Haven't seen a GM bus in years and years
the 2 stroke turbo diesel was a baby killer to even the most hardened climate change denyer, keeping them on the road would make politicians look like seal clubbers (even though seals are not endangered, people get mad because they are cute as pups).

For my first year of uni I had to take a train for an hour, and then a bus for another 40 minutes. And I had to do that twice a day, 4 days a week.

I fucking refuse to ever take public transport again.

Most major corporations support mass transit. My company does that to reduce its taxes. A monthly bus pass is discounted to $50 per month. To reduce chance of re-selling, they also are customized with your name printed onto them and a barcode for the scanner. Report if stolen of course and the pass will be cancelled.

i am paying $400 for car insurance every month now so I can drive 20 minutes one-way instead of taking the bus for 1 hour (2 transfers).

i am losing so much money compared to the time I wasted but it is worth it to me because FUCK THE BUS. I am much happier even if the money stings a bit (that is another matter).

>music festival finishes
>charter busses into the city center
>get an aisle seat

>bus

>moped
drive 10 minuts and park wherever I want
also cheaper than bus and drives whereever whenever I want

Only losers ride the bus, meaning all of Veeky Forums.

>60 foot
>big
We have 25m( about 75 foot) busses here in germany.

are those the double articulated buses?
would be fun to drive

also wonder where they put the engine and drive wheels, the New Flyers have the drive wheels in the back, trailer section which can make driving them a challenge in wet or icy conditions
