The US market models were completely revamped underneath. The body panels, though they looked identical, weren't. The front torsion beam suspension was replaced with an independent macpherson strut arrangement, and the US market got more capable/reliable engines.

Grandpa drove one of these for years, said it was one of his most reliable cars. Also said it was pretty fun to drive but his was manual

My grandfather bought this as his last car back in the eighties. My grandmother sold it to one of my cousins for a dollar after he died. Horizons will take care of you if you take care of them, OP.
