Let's say blue car crashes on red car, who would be at fault? Considering red shouldn't be at left-most lane if he's going straight and blue shouldn't be at the middle lane if he's turning left.

If they are side by side, blue. Why would you not avoid a car you can clearly see?

Blue.

Blue is merging turning. In most cases the car turning is at fault.

If both cars are doing opposite of what their current lane is intended to do, then they're both at fault. ????

blue
>changing lanes in an intersection
>this diagram appears to be all lanes straight unless turning right

It would be blue, but every traffic eneginer In there right mind it make a dedicated turning lane to go right, and the rest straight so shit like this don't happen.

It looks like it's OK for red to go straight through.

this is some retarded shit right here, have they never heard of traffic lights / roundabouts?

Usually, if blue lane can turn, red lane must turn. Where are you at that this is not the case?

how bout now?

wrong pic

This makes it more complicated
In my head since blue still hit red, blue should be at fault?

This example doesn't make any sense because no real life road looks like this.

Come to Pittsburgh or several other shit American cities.

Blue. If you turn into another car, it's your fault.

a cop would right a ticket for failure to yield to right of way and changing lanes in an intersection to both of these drivers

depends on the intersection. If the left lane is for turning only then yes they would both be at fault but if not all the blame would be on the blue car.

2 lanes to 2 lanes, even if skewed. It looks like red's still doing the right thing.

This, if it was a turning lane then opposite side of the intersection would not have road to drive on, or be a median.

you can only catch one car at a time

How is this failure to yield to right of way?

Superior Roads

No, if the left lane is a turn lane, there would be three lanes, and two after the intersection. That drawing is crap.

If user is wondering if someone is going straight in a left turn lane, and gets hit by someone turning left from a straight lane, then they're both at fault. They both get tickets and split cost of damages. Hopefully both are stripped of their licenses, cars scrapped, and both are shot and bodies burned to make sure neither will ever do that stupidness again.

not OP,but what about now?

why can't both be at fault?

>It looks like red's still doing the right thing.
you're right, red would be a special kind of retarded to say that they were going straight and not left, and who's to say red wasn't just turning wide anyways

red would only be at fault if the collision was out of their lane

insurance rates?
Only one officer present at the scene?

Red is at fault here. The law says (at least here in yurop) that when merging lanes, cars coming from the left lane must yield to those coming from the right lane

Is the left lane marked turn-only? Is the center lane marked as a turn lane? I assume no to both. In that case, *probably* only the blue car driver would be liable. Truth be told, in most crashes both drivers are somewhat at fault.

then it will be 50:50, or maybe a bit more for the blue since it bumped into red.

Blue for turning in a non-turn lane

Blue for turning in a non-turn lane

Blue for turning in a non-turn lane

Ayy Michigan Lefts!

Eh fuck it, Blue for turning in a non-turn lane.

How is this even an issue? In every case blue has turned into red.

...

>OP in charge of designing intersections

>doesn't mark the only lanes that matter in the discussion

The highway engineer.

Blue at fault

Always give way to the cars on your left when LHD

you've given us this info:
>two cars at a cluster fuck 6 lane x 6 lane intersection
>red car goes straight
>blue car turns into it
>who is at fault
It's fucking you for asking a retarded question

Why aren't these lanes marked?

Everytime I'm driving with someone out of state they complain constantly about Michigan lefts and how much they hate them, despite being the superior method. I can't stand it.
