1st for fast update for Starsector.

2nd for Stellaris update and vegan sandwiches with plantoid

Mh, alright.

I think I'm gonna try using the Commonwealth of Man preset, I'm gonna change their FTL to warp though.

4th for ISB finally letting me turn xenos into money

This actually should be a option in Stellaris - having refineries that turn biomass(food) into minerals or energy.
Whole 2 and half resources really piss me off.

Guys. Don't die on me. Hold on.

That's what I did. Just changed it to warp and gave them kinetics as starting weapons.

I like still having their backstory missions.

Wait. What?
They got some story missions?

How good kinetics compared to lasers?

>Revolts
>Spent around 50 turns with the ai in control
At least the ai built stuff to keep the cities that aren't the capital happy.

Though england came to be from a revolution with the US, 3-4 of my cities earlier wanted to leave and form the ottomans.

>Being able to upgrade your troops the same way as ships, giving them new upgrades as you research the tecnology.
>Different kinds of troops offer different strategic advantages and combat bonuses.
>Being able to genetically modify your soldiers and give special abilities to your Xeno troops.

The day Stellaris become a fraction of a game SMAC was is the day I'll praise Paradox.

Better at shields, worse at armor. Overall equal

Not much of a difference really. I think statistically they're slightly better late game when you get kinetic artillery, but you can change over to that anyway.

Countering ship type makes a bigger difference. I just like the look of guns over lasers.

Yeah, they go looking for the lost sister ship of their colony vessel.

On the one hand I'm excited for the next starsector major update because it looks so kickass.

On the other hand all my mods will break.

Don't worry they will come back bigger and better.

>transport ships are giving way more HP and armor
>they can now board ships to render them useless
>can now hack disabled ships to become hostile to their own faction
>can add that ship to your fleet

>all that cut content for C&C : Generals
The pain!

>C&C:Generals
>You were able to capture all infantry in this game, only Colonel Burton was not able to be captured. Most of them have unused surrender animations and voices for surrendering. Each faction had their own way of capturing infantry:
>America used the flashbangs to collect prisoners of war. Some removed voices for the Ranger directly reference this. The POW truck took them to the detention camp, where they powered up the CIA Intelligence special power.
>China used stun bullets to collect prisoners of war, which were removed from the final game. The POW truck took them to the Propaganda Center, where they powered up the Defector special power. This special power, removed from the final game, converted enemy units to your side.
>The GLA used tranq darts to collect prisoners of war, which were removed from the final game. The POW truck took them to the Prison, a building which was completely removed from the final game. There, it powered up the Demoralize special power, which made enemy units fire at only one fourth their normal rate.

>Walls were planned for this game, just like in the first Command and Conquer game. They were removed, presumably because they needlessly slowed down an otherwise fast-paced game.
>There are various straight and corner pieces for walls for all factions, as well as selection pictures and tooltips. Presumably you would build the walls using the removed line build feature, which allowed you to build buildings along a straight line. Each faction got a specific wall; according to the tooltips which are left in the game, they were as follows:
>America got a security fence. It blocks vehicles from passing and triggers an alarm if enemy infantry tries to pass it.
>China got a concrete wall, which just plainly blocks troops from progressing.
>GLA got a burning barricade. This one does not really block anything, but the fire damages units passing by.

Fuck you for removing these. I like walls.

>playing the Inca in the middle of the Himalayas on an East Asia map

So, now with global food, blockading agri-worlds to starve the enemy empire is a legit tactic in Stellaris

fuck... look what I just found, I knew I had it lying around,
of course the box case and actual media must be long taken to heaven
funny to think how long its been and that I was basically a child who didn't even understand it

Wont that take an eternity to actually kill pops? if Pops even die from starvation i only recall them getting unhappy and stopping growth

and also, since no one replied in last thread
whats your favorite 4x game iteration?
game + mod allowed
mine was pic

>>transport ships are giving way more HP and armor
>>they can now board ships to render them useless
>>can now hack disabled ships to become hostile to their own faction
>>can add that ship to your fleet
JESUS.

Unhappiness across every single pop can cause some serious problems if you can keep it up though.

Sounds pretty fun.

why can't you use the bed in this game?
also, any tips?

They're patching in beds for Banks.
Start building a military, preferably spearmen.
Beeline armour tech.
Build a third library to fill out the city at least until the next era.

why does stellaris still not have trade

These things, they take time.

I unironically don't understand why they didn't put in at least a basic trade system

I mean they're happy to rip off plenty of other stuff from civ or sins of a solar empire, both of which have easily stealable trade mechanics, but the one thing their game needs more than anything else still isn't in it

They figured 4x trade (the kind through the diplomacy window) was good enough.

t. wiz

where the FUCK are my trade outposts?

wut is this

These decisions were made by the pre-Wiz folks. Wiz just decided not to prioritize it compared to fixing up factions and all the other shit done so far.

nice try wiz

woops totally wrong general

wut is it

You may as well answer that guy's question now though.

>pre-wiz folks
Wait a sec, i thoguht he was the lead for this project.
Also, Civilian Trade needs to be in core, the devs got caught having it installed during a stellaris spotlight video, so they obviously like the idea, why not just make it official?

He only became lead after release. Before that, it was on the backs of untested folks who made poor decisions.

TELL ME WHAT IT IS

>give your empire a cool ass name
>encounter said empire in one of your games
>they advance government types and get one of the stupid randomly generated shit names

Stellaris was badly designed by people who didn't play or understand 4X games.

FUCKING SHITTER FUCK OFF BACK TO YOUR GENERAL

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

>be relaxing in my empire just researching and chill
>suddenly fanatical purifiers declare war on me
>defend myself and protect my galaxy by wiping them out
>somehow I'M the bad guy

>Destroying someone because it's their culture to subjugate and annihilate you
Absolutely haram.

>Settles a city and forces mine on a hill.
Might just remove them before the sending the elephants into them.

I thought beating up fanatic purifiers doesnt confer a penalty?

Anyone know a good Civ4 mod focused on a single star system, instead of a whole galaxy, like the one included with BtS?

>these worlds are both size 15
I dont understand

the one on the right seems like it has a lot of shitty desert

>Huge army on top of it
>Doesn't like slavery
Slavery is where all my hammers are coming from.

Again and again

>Not liberating their planets
>Not leaning back in your chair and watching their former empire be a pathetic shell torn apart by ideological conflict
>Not making their puppet government an ally/vassal

hate this

SMAC(X) was great because you could design and name your own units
"fuck off miriam"

which mod?
I just found a complete pack for Civ4 from GoG, including Col too
fucking amazing

any SMACfags here?

>Revolutions
ahh good times

Rise of Mankind - A New Dawn

sorry, I got back to my corner and masturbated
if you really want to know is japanese porn in rpg format or in other words an h-rpg
check /hggd2/

welcome friend....
sometimes I feel like same fagging because of the lack of replies, but at least someone else on thread has refined taste

Anyone?

Is this game feature-complete? Can I build my industrial star empire?

>civ4 mod
>single star system
wth are you talking about user?

user which h-game is this I like the art

Alright you shitters, let's do this

9 chooses leader and 5 chooses civ. Options not shown are no tech trading, vassals, villages, or events.

Like the Final Frontier Mod. Does that Stellaris game have modes for focus on single star systems, at least?

Chairman Mao.

Japan.

Is the SMAC mod for Civ4 any good?

It was pretty fun and had a lot of potential, it's a shame the mod maker disappeared off the face of the earty.

>it's a shame the mod maker disappeared off the face of the earty.
He's living it up on Planet by now.

>Try to come up with good builds
>Always come back to F.Indvidualist/Materialist Indirect Democracy or F.Spirituralist/Collectivist Plutocratic Oligarchy because anything else is just dumb and suboptimized

FUCK. I wish the other ethics/government actually played differently, because as is there are only 2 builds in the game and choosing anything else cripples you for literally no benefit/fun. For example pic related is the best build in the game and any deviation from it hurts you.

Like, why did they make the bottom row have the best government forms, when it's available for everyone? Shouldn't you lock away the best governments behind shit ethics for balance (aka, how pacifist worked in the past)? This is driving me insane.

How would you guys feel about an organized crime civ?

Didn't play CIV VI yet, how it is compared to CIV V?

5th edition sucks, 4th edition is much better. Is DnD at 6th yet?

That explanation carries you only until you have terraforming tech. And even with todays tech you could terraform desert if you wanted.

Oh come on 3.75 is best.

Sooooo...
Auto-cannons or plasma throwers?

I heard plasma throwers are the best thing of ever but right now it says my level 3 railguns are better, AND cheaper. Auto-complete gives me one of each, level 2 plasma, level 2 auto-cannon, and level 3 railgun.

And my auto-cannon gives my ship such a bigger "damage". My combat speed is pretty high so I can't imagine the difference between starting to fire at 40 distance as opposed to 20 being the selling point.

Well.
You're trait choices ARE shit.
Talk about sub-fucking-optimized.
>Warp

The other one is way less dense so you need bigger shoes or you fall right to the core.

You typically want the longest range weapon to do kinetic and then everything else plasma. Short range kinetic weapons are a bit pointless. You use kinetics to strip the shield from range and plasma up close to cut the fuckers open. So Railgun, Plasma, Plasma.

Oh. I'll try that but my railguns only have 5 more range than plamsa. They do fire a bit faster so hopefully that makes the difference.

Also doing the corvette spam to see if that works. Pretty neat seeing the first few volleys completely miss. But then it's sad when the next one all connects and it explodes without a chance.

>Stellaris
Why are people playing that over distant worlds?

Yeah I figured you weren't using destroyers still otherwise I'd have told you to put L/M Railguns on them and have the vettes go full plasma.

>Starsector
>Coming out: Never
Such is life in the hyperstorm.

Fun.

That's the same thing I do and for the same reasons.

xth for flagships

Is that a plantoid oversized ship or something?

>Does that Stellaris game have modes for focus on single star systems, at least?
???

Has there been any mention of a release date for Utopia?

Flagship

That's a big ship. What mod?

Couldn't tell scale as well from the earlier picture and I don't have plantoids so I wasn't sure what I was looking at.

>That's a big ship.
For you.
