Does anyone else feel like the game has been steadily declining for the past 2 years or so, or is it just me? In particular at the professional level. There used to be so many good teams. Like every single team in the top 8 highest rated teams used to be extremely competitive and fun to watch. There used to be multiple studios competing for hosting tournaments too, and interest was high.

Slowly the amount of teams worth watching has waned. Most of the "top" teams right now are rookies, one hit wonders like DC, or unknown teams that just happen to be doing well. Where did the magic go? There's no fucking competition anymore. What happened to the days when any match between any of these teams against any other on this list was fucking HYPE

Even for a while after that, things popped up or people stopped being shit like

Even when China fell apart and the only 3 good teams left were Secret, VG, and EG, it was still exciting to watch every single tournament to see them face off.

Now what do we have to get excited about? Just OG, that's it. Sometimes EG does ok. What else? Team NP? Complexity? new-Secret? The Jr division of every Chinese team that is better than the main team but still sucks? These names are nowhere near as strong as the old ones. Even the casting studios feel like they don't care anymore and have their own problems too.

Eh. 7.02 seems to have fixed a lot of inconsistencies between radiant and dire, but it's still too early to tell whether there's a significant advantage for either side right now since the only tournaments going on are, what? DAC qualifiers and elimination mode.

Reports could use some TLC though, but you know, Valve is consistently against anything even resembling actual, human-monitored customer service.

Honestly I like it when every team seems unstable. It makes it seem like there isn't a clear cut dominator of the scene like past metas.

Though the instability could just be pros still adapting to the shifts in the meta, or it could be that other teams are just all around rising in skill, rather than the top teams falling.
