I like that idea.

So who else is going to find and conquer earth to make them livestock in banks/utopia

fugg :DDDDD

You dun fucked.

What game?

Polaris Sector.

thread is dead, revive thread please

I am fond of pigs

I hate pigs.

It's funny because in the newest iteration of the namesake franchise of this general there is a Winston Churchill quote which there is a dramatic pause righter after saying "I am fond of pigs" before continuing, and because players usually skip quotes that is all they here, now it's a meme and you are posting an image of a pig like species from another 4x game. Very funny.

Welcome to modern gaming, where you're not supposed to get immerged in the story and just repeat the same shit all over and over again.

Dunno, it's pretty funny outside of context.

See the horns? that is a cow.

So late game ES2 it's impossible to switch governments. There's like 20 turns of anarchy between governments and you get unhappiness from pop not represented in the senate, even though there is no senate.

Right now I am rebounding between industrial and ecologist dictatorships every other turn, with all my systems rebelling. Is this intended?

You're a cow.

Were you not using election actions like round up?

is good?

haha very funny indeed!

There are no elections. I was doing fine under a democracy m, then wanted to change to federation and got hit with all the unrepresented unhappiness while in anarchy and now I have one turn dictatorships

I was kidding. It's something else.

That Stellaris mod recommendation list was a bit underwhelming..

For the sake of discussion, what kind of genre would you like the next AAA 4x game be?

I am dying for a new Gangsters: Organized Crime. It has all the usual things you would want from a strategy game: War/Diplomacy/Economics, with the added twist of having to play around a way stronger faction ( The government/police)

>kidding
hilarious

>a 4x
>based on crime
Huh? Like Chaos Overlord?

Yes, but deeper and more with a focus on actual gangland activites, and less chainsaw nuns.

Like Omerta? I found it pretty fun but a bit lacking. And the combat was utter shit.

Ugh, Omerta was such shit. It banked on my fond memories of Gangsters to get my attention. I got hyped, and then played it and realized that the " Gang Management' was basically a facebook waiting game mixed with a shit XCOM clone.

If you don't mind old games that really don't age that well, You should check out Gangsters: Organized crime.

I remember trying Gangsters 2 and hating it because there was no sandbox game, just a campaign.

And Omerta was pretty shit, but I liked beating the crap out of KKK knights.

Gangsters 2 has a really sad story. It was coming out around the time some RTS were getting really popular, and the devs wanted to cash in on that, by removing all the unique things from the game, and turning it into a shitty half Age of Empires clone. Gangsters and Gangsters 2 really have little in common ( Besides shit controls)

Wait... So which one did I play? I remember one where you start with just a car, a thug and you and you have to shoot a guy down.

That's Gangsters 2

Gangsters 1 had no real story, just a set of different maps, mixed with the ability to randomly generate a map.
It had a weird, turn-based structure, where each turn was a week. You would give your gangsters order, tell them who to extort, what businesses to buy, who to hit etc etc. When you were done, you would click finish, and the week would begin. you would watch your guys complete their tasks in real-time, and be able to issue them simple orders on the fly.

Gangsters 2 basically took the " during the week controls" and made that the whole game, gutting the management portion.

HAK HAK HAK

stellaris is basically game non grata until banks is released

>can't have the Prethoryn, Unbidden and AI rebellion duking it out while the rest of the galaxy are trying to stop them and survive the shitstorm
I know there's mods that allow for multiple crises but I would love having something that allows a second crises to happen and actually takes it into account, things like events, buildup to the inevitable clash between the two, some new techs and events that show how desperate the rest of the galaxy is getting and a bunch of Prethoryn mutating after constantly being around Unbidden and turning into monsters that are worse than the other two and turning it into a 4 way battle

If I go Xenophobe/Authoritarian, will I have any factions opposing purging all the filthy ayyylums infesting my new colonized worlds?

Enslave or purge the pro-xeno cucks

Is there any game where it's just a cluster fuck between 3+ major factions and you're just there trying not to die?

The War in Heaven if you stayed independent without the power to back it up.

store.steampowered.com/sub/149432/

How're the endless games?

>get a migration treaty with Star Fox
>they flood into my new colonies
>they're all pissed off about it and I have to deal with factions even though I'm individualist
>check their planets
>not one beautiful human anywhere on any of their fox-infested worlds
I'm not a xenophobe. I like aliens, I just don't want them around everywhere.

They are breddy good, and that is a awesome price.

>sign migration treaty
>have nicer, richer worlds than shitty Foxicans
>be surprised Foxicans swarm across the border
They have to go back. Luckily Banks will give an expulsion option.

They're not sending their best and brightest, folks. They just aren't. They are probing anuses, they are abducting cattle and I assume some of them are good ayys. We're gonna build a force field to keep the ayys out and the ayys will pay for it.

Believe me, I know force fields. It will be the biggest, best force field within 10,000 light years. It will make the force field they have on Tau Ceti E look like it's made out of Legos. And after we build the force field we are sending every ayy that is here illegally back to their homeworld. It's time to make Earth great again.

I spoke to their leader, their head guy the other day, and he said "President Trump, you can't build a force field and we certainly aren't paying for it." You know what I said to him? I said "Draxzlor, the force field just got 10 miles higher."

Man there used to be a good deal of crime mgmt games, wtf happened? You had your gangsters, your crime fighters, your dope wars.

How do you even get the prethoryn to spawn? I always get unbidden.

You wait a long fucking time (like 200 years since the game started) without getting jump drives or synths and hope they will actually spawn.

I've played through about 10 games and have got unbidden everytime except one which was robot rebellion. Fucking swarm never pops up

>without getting jump drives
Not even the basic one? And is that just the player or the other civs too?

Fuck, that's gonna be rough (playing hyperlanes only atm)

I saw a "Flagships" mod posted here once upon a time, thought it looked cool.

Then after having to deal with a resurgent Titan on top of having invade my allies rear.. I thought it would be handy to have my own super big fuck you all ship.

Thought it would have been in the mod list.

If anyone is wondering the hisho law in ES2 is +15% manpower refill on fleets. Looks like it happens outside friendly territory as well. The haroshem have a law that makes everyone consume 20% less food

>warp into system to engage enemy fleets
>fleet spreads itself thin and focuses on a bunch of transport ships while the enemy fleet just blasts me apart

ok I know stellaris combat isn't anything stellar, but that's fucking stupid. I'm pretty sure if it let me focus on one fleet at a time I would have had that battle easy

There is absolutely no reason not to always send 1 corvette first to system to check things out (if there's any doubt whether or not you'll win) before your main fleet goes in

Theres a mod that unfucks targetting priorities, but it really shines when the transports or resource stations are lumped into the main enemy fleet.

I use it and my fleet targets the fleet before it goes onto transports.

On higher difficulties (immortal and diety) on Civ V, how the hell do you deal with militaristic neighbors in the early game? I just got finished getting gangbanged by the Zulus and the Swedes.

I knew what was in the system but I hadn't engaged a battle like that before so I didn't know it was going to make the targetting focus on these transport ships and little fuckers while the main fleets just went to town on me.

I successfully conquered India and then Kongo, securing the entire continent of Gondwana for myself, before meeting anyone else. Feels good.

Now I need to fill in the gaps of the continent before those colony happy foreigners get any ideas while trying to build a few key wonders.

Beam up my sides to the Kek Enterprise.

>psi drives dont need to connect to a wormhole
oh fuck the unbidden this is worth it

I'm pretty sure you can just tweak a config somewhere.

i ususaly dont even get to crisises because i win by owning shitton of planets before they trigger.

automatic escorts on transports or a way to tie them to the fleet when?

I dont micromanage them for 1 fucking microsecond and the AI, i sweat of fuck teleports on top of them with shitty corvets and shit.

>tfw using capturing cities for the sole purpose of monopolizing a luxury
Is there a better feel?

Are hanger/XL battleships worth it, or are they just for memes?

Civ 6 fixed a lot of movement bugs from Civ 5 that not even Vox Populi could fix.

Monopoly bonuses are so satisfying in VP. I hope they introduce corporations and monopoly bonuses in a Civ 6 DLC or at very least move their asses and release the modding tools so others can do it for them.

They took so many other ideas from Vox Populi that I can't imagine they aren't aware of the value of monopoly bonuses. I can't remember if they were present in Civ 3 or 4.

Ever since populous and more recently, From Dust, I always thought a 4x with exaggerated continental drift and plate mechanics would be amazing.

What are some good must have mods for stellaris? I have alphamod but is there anything else?

...

Serves you right. When around an ayy, watch your pay.

genociding xenos for the sole purpose of monopolizing power

When the Fox Empire sends its furries, they're not sending their best. They're not sending you. They're not sending you. They're sending foxes that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing rebels. They're bringing factions. They're terrorists. And some, I assume, are good people.

But I speak to colonial governors and they tell us what we're getting. And it only makes common sense. It only makes common sense. They're sending us not the right aliens.

It's coming from more than Fox Empire. It's coming from all over the Federation, and it's coming probably -- probably -- from the Fanatical Purgers. But we don't know. Because we have no protection and we have no competence, we don't know what's happening. And it's got to stop and it's got to stop fast.

>Sign a Migration Treaty.
>Be surprised when people use it.
This is all on you.

You should have verified their Ethics and Habitability Preference first before making stupid decisions.

Fanatical Spiritualism is eating up large portions of the federation. They've become influential. I'm in competition with them.

They just built a temple on Abraxis. Can you believe this? They built a temple. When I have to build a building, I pay taxes. They don't have to pay taxes, because they took an old loophole that when we left the Roach Empire, I said we should've removed.

So now the Fanatical Purifiers have the lythuric gas, and what they don't have, the other zealots have. And in 20 -- and I will tell you this, and I said it very strongly, years ago, I said -- and I love the military, and I want to have the strongest military that we've ever had, and we need it more now than ever. But I said, "Don't hit the roaches," because you're going to totally destabilize the federation. The zealots are going to take over the federation, and they will get the gas, and it turned out that zealots are now taking over the roaches. Think of it. Zealots are taking over the Roach Empire, and they're taking it over big league.

We spent $2 trillion in the Roach Empire, $2 trillion. We lost thousands of lives, thousands in deserts. We have wounded soldiers, who I love, I love -- they're great -- all over the place, thousands and thousands of wounded soldiers.

And we have nothing. We can't even go there. We have nothing. And every time we give the roaches equipment, the first time a bullet goes off in the air, they leave it.

Last week, I read 2,300 corvettes -- these are big vehicles -- were left behind for the enemy. 2,000? You would say maybe two, maybe four? 2,300 sophisticated vehicles, they ran, and the enemy took them.

AUDIENCE MEMBER: We need Trump VII now.

TRUMP VII: You're right.

forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/stellaris-dev-diary-61-indoctrination-unrest-and-faction-interactions.999954/

Banks is going to add so much. There rarely is a game where every weekly dev diary generates this much hype.

its almost like stellaris is being released, i can't wait

Thing is Trump VII is empirically right, love or hate the guy's presentation, he's no dummy.

You have no idea how many times I wiped thinking I was living peacefully with my neighbours the entire time. They built up, took advantage of the migration treaties, then swallowed me whole.

I now exclusively play fanatical xenophobes.

With only three other civs left on the other continent and with the ability to choose Apostle promotions made it very easy to win Religious Victory. I just chose the "remove all competing religion from city" promotion thanks to the City-State Suzerin bonus and the additional actions from the Hagia Sophia to convert them all.

boop

>Not gobbling up your neighbours when you don't need those defence pacts anymore

trying to get NZ into space... this game looks so unfinished but its like the vici 2 market, complex but simple looking at first glance.

Has ANYONE here actually done a pacifist run in Stellaris?
Not even necessarily with the pacifist ethic. I mean avoiding wars to cede planets and trying to be friends with as many empires as possible while respecting each-other's territory.

I did. I just had to do a nice, good ethnic cleansing first.

I tried, but it was just too boring.

I've played 3 or 4 campaigns to late game and have never seen these guys. The Unbidden always spawn instead. Am I just unlucky or is it very rare?

>want to do one last game of Stellaris before Utopia hits
>can't bring myself to start a game because Utopia is on the horizon

I did for about half of one game then went full militarist coping the unhappiness because there's nothing else to do mid-late game

Horatio?

...then just don´t do it.
I am pretty sure you have unfinished games, or other things to do.

I need a game, strategy or city-building or whatever, to tickle that huge capitalist boner.

I had a lot of fun in Freelancer buying and selling food, dioxygen and medicine, but now I want to maximize my margin and process the food, dioxygen, medicine and small arms to sell.

Got it from Make Love not War and I dont own the base game
