i've narrowed my SSF HC builds down to either hierophant or berserker

hierophant has nice defenses with a large mana pool, MoM and warlords mark + blasphemy, but lacks the damage to scale into t12+ maps. as a bonus illuminated devotion makes leveling incredibly easy which is nice

berserker is more of an end game build. if i could get some decent CI gear then it would be fairly easy to scale into end game, but getting the gear needed would be difficult/impossible, and leveling would be torture

i've always enjoyed the novelty of a CI marauder but i'm afraid it will be too hard to pull off in a SSF HC league

life is actually easier to play in SSF in my experience. ES/CI builds pull way ahead in the endgame stage wherein you'll be trading and dumping a lot of currency into your gear, but it's hard to get there playing SSF.

Anything Raider is unironically a solid SSF option, frenzy charges make her a generically good caster/attacker from the get go and much of her power is frontloaded meaning you got a build going as early as cruel lab

Can't wait for the trade shitters to burn out in a week like every league, while SSF elite are still going strong and enjoying the game the way it was meant to be played, old school and solo

It's always a shame to see self-hating farm equipment.

I have an idea:
PF BV (or any skill really) with max block+aegis aurora
You get a decent amount of armor from a granite flask of iron skin, so the aegis isn't just for the block chance.
Even a post-post-nerf Rumi's combined with tempest shield and a couple reckless defenses will put you to 75% block, and PF has no issues keeping flasks up. You'd end up with about 9k ES (more if you sacrificed a damage aura for discipline) and 20k armor. Since it's BV you'd still end up with plenty of DPS.

He also has several ex of gear on that character, like 290pdps 8% crit Vagan foil, essence rolled 6-link astralis, +1 curse voice of the storm, insane rings, uber atrizi gear etc.

It's nothing really groundbreaking, you'll probably struggle with mana though, BV is expensive, you don't want really want spell echo since it double dips on less poison damage and if you use WM you lose the blasphemy Enfeeble necessary to justify Reckless Defenses

Wasn't planning to do poison. I did non-poison BV PF last league and it still steamrolled guardians/shaper.
