No, but it's still the best non-Rance Alicesoft game aside from maybe TT2.

Story wise I think it would lose to Rance IX, VI and 03, but beat the rest. Gameplay wise it beats all Rance games to me, but lose to Blade Briders.

CG wise, while I like it I'm not that fond of that artist work, prefer most other newer Alicesoft games over it on that.

Below VI and Sengoku. Better than any other Rance game bar KR.

Its basically better in every way other than not having characters I am already attached to from other games.

TT II is incredibly well done JRPG with good setting and plot and actual consequences for decisions.

not him but to me, Rance III and IV often felt like comedies at times, cheap comedies that have that campy feeling early Rance games have. Of course there is a charm to that, and I do enjoy that trademark humor, but I also think it diminishes the overall quality or grandeur of the games. It's hard to take fighting the final boss seriously when Rance is remarking how hot she is, it's hard to feel dramatic tension when Rance is constantly deflating it. I like Rance as a character, he's great at what he does, but creating a compelling story or pulling you into the world is not what he does. He's the guy that says what we're all thinking, the guy who challenges norms and sometimes almost breaks the fourth wall in his boldness. But sometimes you don't want that, and sometimes having a protag like that makes it very difficult to make a "serious" game, basically. So I think TT2 has that over Rance III and IV in that Seed is a serious protagonist.

They're both similar but, Daiakuji was the first game that started it all, it has a fun and intriguing game play system, the soundtrack is awesome, and the characters are a sight to behold. Only people who can read moon can play it though, unlike Daibanchou.

That's pretty much 0% chance of happening.

When KR was made that was the logical ending. Rance has too many other relationships now for that and it would infuriate the fans.

The ambiguity will be in fated girls where they will leave a lot unrevealed so people can believe their favorites are fated.

In VI, I'm up to the part where you have to activate the Maginot Line defenses to get the fiends out of Zeth. Is there any resolution with Feliss and Dark Rance? I saved her in the Disposal Dungeon.

They're not going to have Rance settle down, and there's only one way that him going off on another random adventure goes. And that's solo with Sill as if it was going to set up another game that they'll (probably) never make.

Anything else would be brave and close themselves off from future possibilities way too hard. Because lets be honest, if they notice none of their other series sell nearly as well as Rance, they're not going to leave it lying around.

The plot has already closed up future possibilities.

And shit with games like KR and remakes they can just do remakes and non canon games anyway.

Rance living in Rance castle with all the girls works as an ending anyway and hardly closes off the plot - killing Kayblis and defeating Ludo and sorting out Miki's demon kin issue is what will close the plot.

By that logic there can't be a Rance X because after Rance IX, Rance went back to his castle to live with his girls.

Rance X is going to be the final canon game of the series. That is established and planned.

A Sill only end ignores everything they set up in Quest and IX. Its no longer compatible.

Kayblis will be killed in X. Ludo will be dealth with in some way. Rance will have had a game in every single country. They can't really have Rance games after X because lets face it, those small adventures games like 4.x were pretty mediocre and can't carry Alicesoft.

Ending the canon series doesn't mean they can't make more Rance games anyway. 04 is inevitable. They can remake KR if they want. They can do more spinoffs and alternative routes. They can do Rance 0. They can do the gap year. In five years time, Rance VI will be 18 years old so they can even do a Rance 06.
