I mean, you can't really pass a weapon's effective skill to another unit with a fantastic skillset, but you could theoretically pass a great or effective skill to a unit that already has a good weapon selection to start.

Sounds cool but this seems like something that could REALLY break the game into pay to win where whales buttstomp everything.

Like right now all you can really do to pay to win is add +4 stats across the board which is powerful but not unbeatable or anything plus it also means you won't fight ftp teams cause of the higher star total.
But now we might see tons of regular non+10 teams with loads of bullshit like every unit with distant/close counter and rally speed on every unit that'll be fucking impossible to face without dumping money.

Yes, you have to upgrade them with skill points and many rank 5 weapons have tier 2 abilities or effective damage bonuses attached to them. Or both in the case of Falchions.
