"Tech" is a fighting game term that generally refers to breaking out of an attack, be it stopping a throw or using an ukemi off the ground to get control back quickly. In For Honor's case, teching refers to the counter guardbreak.

Raider was the first class I really played before switching to lawbringer who is basically the same thing just with a slightly better charge and an overhead that is better. They are both classes that fall short when the opponent has any braincells though.

If you lower the debuff stat it also makes almost every blocked attack unsafe. The window for guardbreak becomes shorter aswel. If you play 4v4 modes you are basically playing a different game.

max -attack is around 20% reduction in damage, I believe.

This works only for some classes. If you are Conq, for instance, you go out of stamina in a bash + 2 heavies. Which is not worth the defense or attack. Ironically one of the best items for that scenario is a lower level one that still affords roughly base stamina.

There is a reason why wardens 50/50 is strong and its simple: the effort input/output ratio is skewed to the defender. It is much easier to execute than it is to consistently prevent.
