It's not a very impactful difference. The stronger ones just tend to do better in most situations however they're beat by other heroes in niché or not so niché situations.

That list is mostly for Hero League, where the meta is a lot of mages and other tanks; Arthas is best against melee assassins, or ranged attackers like valla.

Consequently, quick match is currently filled with melee assassins.

I figured as much; the closest thing I have played to a MOBA is Overwatch, and at the low levels there isn't much a difference between character tiers either.

You're starting with the right game then
-You've got a lot to learn, but two general tips that help a lot: When you auto-hit, there's a small frame where you need to charge your next autohit; use that downtime to move instead of just standing or following automatically (stutter-stepping)

-You can use your body to block the enemies path, its especially effective in this game compare to something like League of Legends (bodyblocking)

Honestly I think Arthas should get re-made. His model isn't bad, but he kinda looks like a doofus.
There's nothing really frightening about his kit either, he's mostly just a sliding ice-block. He doesn't really live up to the legend

You dish out dmg, slow the enemies down and grant your allies shields and movement speed. You're also supposed to jump on out of position enemies and bodyblock them to death which is easy thanks to your e.
Also offensive sancts beat defensive ones.

He's both and you're bronze.
He has very strong dmg for a tank, 2 slows and movement speed for his allies. Also literally the most mobile tank in the game so you shouldn't ever die except when you suicide to get your trait off. Early game your trait is supposed to make you trade evenly and late game you're a monster with more slows than anyone could ever ask for.
