I'd like to think there is a slight hold back on progress posts because people are focusing more on getting their project ready for DD13 than anything else. Thats correct, HOWEVER consider when you're debugging and you want do a breakpoint for whenever a variable has its value changed. You can't do that with just a field, whereas with a setter you can put a breakpoint in the setter
