The only way a turbo increases fuel economy over a larger NA is through never being in boost. If you don't drive like you're trying to get the best mpg for a fuel economy test you're not going to see better mpgs, and might see lower in some cases.

I think this car is good if you spend under 15k on it. Slightly bigger than a miata but still small and light for today. Plus I've seen these things run autocross and clean up more powerful cars like wrexys/m4s pretty well. About 1200 needs to be factored into your budget for the torque dip though.
