Old thread

...

Halt! Roll for pic related.

...

a bit dim, perhaps place a pair of tiki torches?

rolling

Better deliver

I'll build it when I start playing again in a few weeks or days.

Bumping.

I want a fresh serber

Where is fresh server

...

...

Lowered the basement by one tile as per user's suggestion.

Man this general will never be alive again, huh.

just a bad board for terraria, everything is anime trash

dunno mate it used to be alive

Looks nice, put some light in the attic (you don't need to put proper lanterns, just put some gemspark wall behind some items so that it's not pitch black).

...

...

Oo, that water wheel is nice.

...

anyone here uses Thorioum + Tremor ? me and 2 friends started playing the other day and we got lost

what kind of armor+weapons should we get ? also Eye of cthulu first or the Zappdos ripoff boss ?

...

Time for another

...

lets do this

Completed! please rate

The variable thickness of the vertical walls is a bit strange.

could you specify? Thanks.

...

Thanks for the clarification, thought you literally meant the planked walls

Alright fixed hopefully

Well, it's a bit more consistent now, yes. The diagonal parts on the left side are still kinda bulky. Overall it's not a bad build, user.

I'm going in.

I will do this tomorrow, will post the build

thanks bud

Does this seem okay? What should I change?

It's going to be a single-room house with an outdoor crafting station/forge thing.

Looks pretty good
What's that thingy to the left of the spear rack in the forge?

Thank you. I think it was gonna be a platform with a bottle or something on it, nothing set in stone.

Maybe you could slightly slope this right part down, not as steep as the left

Stop dying. I love you.

...

Are any of the overhaul mods actually good?

Might just settle for QoL mods.

BUILD IT ALREADY.

I'm working on it.

Here's a screenshot. Spooky Wood is just being used as a foundation to make sure everything is in proportion. The weird roof made the house a lot taller than I thought it would be, so it'll probably be a two-room house.

Needs to be wider and shorter, the proportions are very weird compared to the sketch.

I agree. I didn't take the angle of the roof into consideration when I sketched it, not sure how to fix it. I want the roof to be smooth and I want it to form a tangent with the corner of the house. I don't know if making it wider will just make the roof abnormally large. I'll try tinkering with it.

>I want the roof to be smooth
They actually tend to look better when they're staggered. Just change the angle, it doesn't have to be a perfect 45°

Tell me if this looks any better before I scrap the whole thing and start over with the new roof.

Walls are just there to make it easier to see.

No, you have to have a proper slope on the upper part of the roof, these tiny little diagonals just don't work.

Also I wouldn't be afraid of making a slope on the upper left corner of the interior either, since you clearly can't fit a more angled roof with ceilings that high.

You can notice how the structure on the sketch has a tall but still distinctly horizontal appearance, and the one you built in-game is just all vertical somehow.

OK. I'll start over and try to plan it out in the second draft. Thanks for the input.

Another day though, it's 2 AM over here.

ahoy
max ms is irrelevant as it is counted when loading into a world and as such appears insanely gigantic at times

An entire, separate background layer when? I want to be able to walk across the world without having to jump over my fucking house.

Are you debloatifying tModLoader?

Terraria 2, maybe?

What tablet are you using?

Is TEdit not working for anyone else?

Hasn't worked for me in like a year or more.

Wasn't working for me a year ago, but I took a Terraria break shortly after.

Still not working. Any idea what's wrong?

Nope, I just know that none of the versions I downloaded since then have worked.

I've been able to use it fine.

What are the types of walls here?

Are you using W10?

No, 7.

good way to keep the thread alive (sort of)

Rolan

Nope, 8.1

Quick question to everybody, what would be the best paint to use for a marble-color, planning to use a gold chandelier for that luxurious marble house.

White? But dont' we already have a marble chandelier, though?

Yes, but the golden chandelier looks way more modern than marble chandelier. I think it'd fit the build better

I should have clarified, i mean the chandelier dropped by the Pirates.

Which ones in particular do you mean?there's a lot.

The white ones behind the paintings and keg, I'm assuming they're painted

Blue Dynasty Wall painted white.

Thanks

If "debloatifying" means "fixing some of the most basic shit", then yes.

Cottage attempt 2: Will I Ever Learn How to Build a Roof Edition

This looks worse.

I wish there were halfslopes.

Like, a slope going up until half the width of the tile?

Yeah, so you can have 1x2 ramps.

I think this is better.

...

...

Update. I actually like this so far.

Maybe one day I'll learn to build.

just do it user
build a lot
build more
spend literalaly every waking moment building, even if you end up with a mediocre build
learning to build is honestly a quantity over quality kind of deal, because you learn a lot more from a bunch of small, hastily built shit with different features than one big build that took a lot of time
try any old idea that pops into your head and build it
look at other builds, look at unique things they do, then copy the feature shamelessly a few times, apply it in different situations
rinse and repeat

Done! Sorry if this is annoying anyone.

If it's ideas you're having trouble with, try rolling for
From there just do so many builds and practice with how you do it. Detail is what makes good builds pay off.

Steampunker is best girl.

Finished the roll I got, it was Luxury themed.
rate pls

Just use the normal chimney. Also, I don't like those orange/yellow walls.

Should I paint them or outright replace them with the smooth marble walls

I don't really know. paint them first and see if it looks better. If they don't, replace them with something else. I think granite painted white looked good with marble walls, but I'm not sure.

Aight, here we go.

Thanks for the advice, will try this later

Ugh, a cutlist base? Okay...
