The kind that can't complete a single lap of a track without overheating

Maybe not the most bizarre, but VW's VR5 is certainly fucking weird.

Btfo

Gm fangirls blown the fuck out. How will they EVER recover?

Let the triggering begin :^)

The kind that can't go more than 6 ( S I X ) miles without blowing up

Was Veeky Forums always this shitty?

Trying way too hard in this thread

assmad gm fangirl detected

>not posting the whole image

At least he's trying at all. Unlike gm

unlike gm

Did you forget about the W8 motor...?

Forgot to attach image omg.

I didn't, I've actually seen a W8 Passat in the flesh.
I just picked the VR5 because it's such an absurd concept.
The W8 makes some kind of sense (test platform for W-configuration engines, very short block for 8 cylinders which is ideal for Audi's AWD system) but the VR5 is just "let's just cut one cylinder off the VR6 because we want another engine option".

Good sounding though

Multiples of 5 cylinders almost always sound great.

...

It's been shitty for at least the past two years. Before then I can't really say

you have a lot of things on this Youtube channel :
youtube.com/channel/UCE1rh8YHogAaKFRaUawqL9A/videos

from weird engines to bizarre swaps, there are a lot of fun stuff

for exemple : youtu.be/uJw_uYfdjZw

So the gt350?

H-24 Napier Sabre.

I'm obviously a new fag here, but I swear this board has no mods, shit barely stays on topic and threads hold barely any discussion past retarded memeing and shitflinging. It's astounding, it's almost /tv/ tier

Still waiting..... ;-;

it was pretty bad with the stance gang around but now that this is Alphone's private shitting street it's unbearable

watch this
>delticc

looks like pretty shit balance

I dont get it. Is he paid? I'm struggling to understand the level of boredom or autism that would make this an acceptable pastime. And for so LONG, too. It's relentless.

If I could filter "btfo", "fangirl", and "cuck" from my phone I'd probably never notice him. But I can't.

Anybody suggest an android browser that allows filters?

>Is he paid?
no, he advertises Ford for free.

W-what?

It's for diesel, greater apex seals = greater compression

Suzuki's U4 comes to mind.

This is an engine block with 2 I2s parallel to one another, each with it's own crankshaft, eventually being connected further down.

It worked for Suzuki in MotoGP, back during the two stroke era.

They were quite dominant with it.

BRM-16, a 'flat 16 with a total of 1.5 liters

youtube.com/watch?v=0CmGJucRDBk

This is one of six rows of cylinders, each row being constituted of 3 cylinders and 6 pistons in a triangular arrangement like pic related. There is a crankshaft at each apex of the triangle. Air intake and exhaust is made possible by a turbocharger or by superchargers, as there is no real succing cycle.

Wonder what the longevity of those linear bearings would be.

I had a K75RT and it was ridiculously smooth to the point it felt like it was electric. No vibration at all at any engine speed.

Probably not bad considering pistons do the same thing.

Did it had an oil leak ?

is that a Komoto Dragon. did it throw a piston

much longer than a crank bearing thats for sure

can it pick winning powerball numbers

Dont forget they made a W12 for the Phaeton as well.

what does btfo mean?

That looks like a mechanical nightmare.

I think oiling might be an issue with this

v16 is weird right?

Holy shit this engine has a face wtf

>V4
>8 valve per "cylinder"
>500cc
>1980's
>130hp

...

It had well over 130HP in proper trim.

HRC version had about 200hp, but those parts were not for sale to the public.
And that bike and engine exist solely because Honda hated 2strokes so much they were fucking determined to beat 2stroke GP bikes with a 4stroke. They did not succeed.

N15 engine when?

...

Wrong. They were extremely successful in the 50cc division in the 60s and 70s

Looks reliable and super practical. I bet it's a breeze to manufacture and a great value cost wise. Why is everyon eso stupid and only we're smart enough to know that this engine is the answer??? How is it possible for everyone else to be so stupid?

I know so successful! How is everyone except us and Honda from the whatever years SO STUPID? This engine's obvious superiority is slapping everyone in the face, how are they so dumb that they can't even see it? If only [every engine manufacturer in the world] werent so stupid and as smart as [us] and [honda] the internal combustion engine would be 500years more advanced. Isn't it so tragic how smart we are and how stupid everyone else is??

btfo

Shit like this is why I want to start learning machining. Even if it's a totally retarded concept, I'd love to make and put that in something.

Turbine Motor?

How would that be an issue?
the great thing about this design is that the crank always has even pressure on each side meaning that it can be made of super light material, like magnesium, or aluminum, and best of all the crank can use journal bearings.

OPAC says that this alone should increase efficiency by 13%

I mean ball bearings, not journal.

ppdp

>all that extra shit
>those huge ass rods and linkages
>save a few pounds on the crank with weaker material
Eureka

>mfw i thought the W8 was two individual four-bangers put together
>mfw im pretty sure thats the W12 but with six cylinders.

>Yfw the w12 is just 2 vr6's

Pretty sure the Junkers bomber engines were the same design.

Bin dun befo

Commer TS3

Makes me kind of wish someone would restart the name as another retro bike.

Ariel restarted a few years ago by making the Atom and now the Nomad, remember? They're also building a new bike, the Ace, based on a Honda V4.

arielmotor.co.uk/ace/overview/

Literally didn't know it was the same company. Grazi.

Honda V3

They sure had some strange ideas for their race bikes

Beating the fags off

>yfw the entire chamber has to be one gigantic seal
>yfw wankel memes to the power of 10

chekd&rekt

This really should be an option now

Chevette, literally a V8 engine cut in half. thats why they ran so choppy

...

Because grown man children.

Z06/NISMO shitposting did it for me

This is entirely why I'm studying mechanical engineering, actually.

Beat me to it.
