There any chance in hell you can eventually tie this into the repair/cooking style UI? It's fluff, I'm more just curious how much of an endeavor that is.

Yeah, that was actually how it was in the original Russian mod. It didn't really make sense to be honest. First off, you would need a weapon to "repair". Then you would choose the item to "repair" it with, but instead of repairing the first item, the second item would be broken into spare parts. Give it a try and you'll see what I mean. I wanted to open a dialogue box when you "used" the crowbar or whatever item, but apparently doing it drag-n-drop is the easiest method (so sayeth Alundaio).

You could also make a custom UI for it, but I'm not touching that shit.

What I would do is copy the trader and weapon files from StCoM over top of my modpack's shit, and then if you feel like it, you can manually add in the items from Roadside Picnic. There are like 3 or 4 items, you would just want to add them to the traders.

Ahh, neat. I've only just started getting my feet wet in modding more advanced than weapon tweaks and basic script alterations, so looking under the hood every chance I get like that has helped make a lot more sense of the logic at work in CoCs code.

As far as I can tell that's all there is to adding Misery-style animation to item use.

I tried to just use an existing toolkit reference to the script so I could hopefully avoid editing actor_effects_data at all. but no luck.

All I needed to do was add "actor_effects.use_item("toolkit_s_3_dummy")" to my script it turns out.

As long as you leave the important (uniquely named) people alive then they will spawn forever. If you kill the improtant people they will take a huge hit to respawn time. They will eventually respawn, just never to full strength, usually half or so. You will still run into them rarely in the Zone too, usually about 1/4 of the time you used to. This is all based off of personal play time.

Bad luck I suppose. Usually based off of faction strength, are they taking over other parts of the zone? Try hitting the main bases they have taken to slow their numbers.

also different condition of parts wouldn't be too bad to have (eg rusty barrel, worn grip), so if you disassemble some rusty ak, you get those. then you can clean up those rusty and worn parts using repair kits to turn them into normal part

The worst offender is the Cordon roof stash with medkits, that thing is almost always there.

The stashes you get the info about and some blue boxes in bases that are populated though its probably only in Cordon.

In CS the factions constantly put shit in boxes they camp at, no idea about stashes because they're more special with the upgrade pendrives so they probably don't respawn, at least the ones with pendrives. In CoP you get the rewards for missions in base boxes. Stashes are one time since they're outside of boxes.

No. Stashes are populated at game start and when marked stashes are created as rewards. They never repopulate other than this.

Does the HD models addon fully compatible with CoM?

In CoC Warfare, if 'Keep Last Base' is disabled, can you finish off factions for good by taking their last base and making sure any roaming squads are also killed before they can retake a spawning point?
