>Want to use DS3 wikidot >Its kinda shit, lacks information Damn shame too, my favorite wiki for DeS, DS1&2.
Zachary Martinez
but since dark souls is supposed to be so hard I actually thought it was the first level
Jaxson Murphy
The DS3 wikidot is probably shit because the community that made the early wikis good just isn't there anymore.
You absolutely can go to the catacombs and beat it as your first level or first level(s). I usually do the Burg first, but I recently did a cleric character and went to the Catacombs after Burg to get Rite of Kindling since IF YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO, catacombs is super easy.
Jayden Reed
Recommendations for the direction to take on a caveman build?
Wearing only a loincloth and using the Great Club, been putting everything into STR and VIT.
Jeremiah Taylor
Why do people draw the Emerald Herald with such huge knockers?
Ethan Bailey
>VIT if you're going to wear rags then there's no point to level a stat that allows you to wear heavy armor unless you meant Vigor which is HP, then it's fine
Isaiah Campbell
you probably had the divine sword you got from the undead dragon with the master key. You expect new players to know this? It can take several hours to clear the graveyard and then several days to clear the catacombs
Eli Diaz
Get to 66 Str, infuse your weapons with Heavy and twohand those bad boys. Pick up Power Within and RTSR if you're a real man.

Why is there blood on her hands? Did she murder Gypogean Gael?

i just reinstalled ds3 after dropping it 13 hours in. i loved the first half of ds1 and ds2 was just ok but enjoyable. does 3 get better or is the first few hours indicative of the rest of the experience?

If you take painting as a substitute for videogames, then she's pretty much a Veeky Forums user.
Robert Davis
It's paint, I think. That or she has some weird skin disease.
Carter Hernandez
Have you never seen old timey painting supplies? They're on the table right next to her.
What a useless question. How far did you get in those 13 hours? What are you having problems with?
Xavier Peterson
the last thing i remember doing was beating the deacons of the deep and then going across some bridge to a courtyard area where the were fast enemies with swords. its been a long time since i played any. as for what was wrong the game was just so underwhelming. everything was in a fucking castle and the atmosphere felt the same the entire time. also a lot of parts felt cheap; not actually difficult or skillful, just cheap.
Xavier Phillips
Nah, I didn't. You can go for the Necromancers or kick the respawning skeletons into the shafts.
>it can take several hours to clear the graveyard If you're incredibly bad and incredibly stupid, yeah. I didn't bother with the graveyard, I just ran across it.
>does 3 get better What did you dislike in the game?
Nolan Brooks
Yeah, that's what I meant. I plan on keeping it at L70 for Pontiff PVP, so I don't think I can grab power within. It's in GA, right?
Jordan Moore
another thing is i was using the katana or uchigata whatever its called and going with a dex build
Anthony Rivera
Hey, you still here? Sorry about the delay, I went out to eat. I made it to farron swamp and found the +1 wolf ring. Since you'll be twinking, if you do happen to do farron invasions, would you mind giving me the wolf ring when you reach rank 2? Otherwise I'd have to farm about 24 wolf's blood swordgrass.
Brody Jones
You should fill in all of your armor slots with something otherwise you take a huge damage penalty. Ragged mask, master's attire/gloves and loincloth should still look good.
Jason Lewis
If I want to make an INT build, is it worth it to go for heysels pick or should i just do court sorcerer staff/crystal longsword? Already have an MLGS build, not going to make another one
Jayden Martinez
The first few levels are actually pretty samey, that's true. The game doesn't start to really diverge in terms of atmosphere and design for a little while, so it's a fair complaint. Right after the Deacons (or before, if you switch around) is the obligatory shitty swamp area, and then all the good parts of the game are immediately after. I remember being blown away by Irithyll just for the change in atmosphere myself.
If you're like most people, most of that feeling of taking tons of cheap hits is the removal of poise. Like Bloodborne, it bothers you less once you adapt to mashing dodge the instant you get hit and never trying to force openings against multiple enemies, but it does leave a bit of a cheesy taste in a lot of people's mouths when some faggot dog nips your heels and locks you into a staggerfest, so you feel like you have to play reactively against common mobs for the next hour. If you REALLY hate it, try playing with a poise enabled weapon, since they patched that.
I'd bet actual money I'm right. If you don't believe me, download the CE table and switch that shit back on.
tl;dr: the levels do get much better and more varied, the gamestyle is a thing you get used to, or patch out if you aren't on console

Because tits>ass

Post Sister Friede feet!
Bentley Gray
alright ill just force myself through it some more if im that close to the game opening up. sounds like i already went through most of the awful shit (the swamp, i cant imagine worse level design than that). thanks user
Isaac King
you get a damage penalty for having a spot empty?
Carter Williams
In DS1 terms, you've basically rung one Bell of Awakening.
Except the game doesn't drop massively in quality after the midpoint. The difficulty just spikes and stays there. Prepare your anus for snow town.
Katanas are also actually really, really bad in 3. Try a different weapon.
Carson Diaz
A little, its quite exaggerated by everyone though.
Cameron Thomas
whats a good replacement weapon thats still fast
Jaxon Sanchez
He means defense. For some fucked up reason, your flat defense is lowered for having no armour in slots; more for multiple empty slots. Being naked is practically a death sentence, as you'll take tremendously more damage than just the lower absorption would imply. It's even visible on your status screen.
Mason Sanders
Any straight sword(Longsword in particular)
Dylan Miller
The reason katanas are bad is that they're actually pretty slow. If you're wanting to stick to dex, and still in the early game, try out the estoc, corvian greatknife, lothric knight straight sword, great scythe, or lothnic knight spear, for either much better speed, or reach, or both.
Brody Brown
alright cool will try i want to like this game i really do. i mean i paid full price and pre-ordered it when it first came out. btw is there an fps cap in 3 or was it just at 30 because my old pc was shit?
Nolan Mitchell
You can substitute a great corvian scythe for the great scythe if you can get one to drop, if you're okay with a shorter reach as well. Bleed gets cheesy later on. Overall though, be warned that scythes are actually very good in this game, but have a rather strict sweet spot mechanic. If you aren't consistently landing the sweet spot, your damage will suck ass.
Caleb Evans
Standard for PC is 60.
Alexander Lopez
Why is Gundyrs Halberd so much fucking fun?
>that heat seeking WA
Jackson Adams
can it go up to 144 tho>?
Leo Mitchell
Your old PC was bad. It should run well over 30 on even mediocre hardware.
Last bit of advice: level your VIG to a bare minimum of 27 by the end of Mr. Bones' Wild Ride. People often hugely underestimate the gains and then flip their shit when the next area(s, there's a hidden passage) demolishes their HP bar instantly.
Levi Brown
it's capped at 60
Austin Martin
oh well thats good enough i guess ye i was pumping all my points into dex and hp. how much do i need to diversify stats? those were pretty much the only two stats i put points into .
Joshua Flores
All of those suck except the lothric straight sword
Jason Myers
If you're not going for quality, then you should mostly only worry about DEX, VIG and END. VIT is basically useless to you. Since you can't upgrade armour anymore, its value is almost entirely for poise, and if you're using a dex weapon, you aren't going to be trading (poise only works mid-attack now), so heavy armour isn't great for you. If you find you have points left over, you can always throw a few into grabbing a spell or two. LCK you don't touch unless you're doing a very specific build. INT and FTH are the usual except they soft cap for casting at 60.
Aiden Price
>tricked by a guy running away with a katana What's the dumbest thing you've fell for, /dsg/?
Gabriel Morgan
I was going to say something about how he's still early in the game, but:
>corvian greatknife >anything less than fantastic in both PvE and PvP
Confirmed shitposter.
Andrew Lopez
is Sully a twink?
Benjamin Sullivan
>PvE no >and PvP yes
Asher Gutierrez
what is the best scythe i can get that early in the game?
Liam Johnson
Sacred Flame glitch, he was 2-3 hits away from death and i thought i could nab him quickly through his cast. >Oneshot i still feel stupid about that
Andrew Cox
Anything with fast attacks and a quick dodge cancels blenders the shit out of PvE. You can already stagger lock almost every enemy to death with a straight sword, using the knife just basically gives you the same thing with a little less reach and damage, but better stamina use and disgustingly powerful crits for little weight. You can also slap rouge on it to have a slightly less powerful bandit's knife with better reach. It's perfectly viable as a SS/Dagger blend.
Easton Cruz
PC player here, been doing SL35-70 invasions for the longest time, considering moving up to post-pontiff meta level invasions finally for more difficulty, hackers be damned.
My question is, what SL should I be at? 120? 125? 140? 150? Preferably I'd like to avoid fight clubs and get a constant stream of aldrich faithful invasions if possible, but I'd weigh constant invasions heavier than avoiding FC's. I'm not entirely against obscuring ring greatbow'ing FC's to fuck with them.
Angel Davis
Great Scythe is in Undead Settlement as item to pick up. Great Corvian Scythe is in Road of Sacrifices as random drop from mobs. There's also Pontiff Knight Great Scythe in Irithyll. Power ranking: Corvian > Pontiff > Great Scythe
Owen Roberts
The great scythe you should find in the Undead Settlement has the best reach and respectable damage. The great corvian scythe you can farm off the mutant crow fucks has better damage, but a shorter reach and a strength requirement (and relatively negligible self-bleed). They're both perfectly capable of taking you to the late game, especially when you can buy carthus rouge.
Oliver Wright
also it's a raw weapon, allowing you to gouge the shit out of your choice of VIG/END/VIT.
Jordan Turner
alright thanks lads. im off to go play wish me luck :3
Nathan Lewis
>:3 fuck off
Jace Ward
125 is the meta and where you will get the most activity. 140 I believe is the point at which you start ignoring 125s while invading which will likely gimp your invasion activity but avoid most fight clubs.
That said, Aldrich Faithful has nearly always been constant activity for me regardless
John Johnson
;_; sorry
Easton Perez
So what would you suggest then? SL120 or SL140? Again, PC.
Nathan Rivera
120/125 is the sweet spot, as always. Post-pontiff is still as active as ever in that bracket.
Jacob Watson
What are some of the useful Sorceries in DaS3?
Juan Hill
Yeah but I want to do invasions not honor duels. Mostly trying to think about how much FC invasion frequency effects my choice of SL120-125 or SL140.
Guess I'll just do SL125 then, though.
Lucas Sullivan
Great Heavy Soul Arrow for PvE Homing Soulmass, Farron Flashsword, Soul Greatsword are good for both PvE and PvP
Michael Walker
Thanks mate, planning on using MLGS, would it be better to use Bellowing ring or magic clutch?
Mason Peterson
Bellowing. Clutch rings don't work in PVP, so they're pretty useless.
Nathaniel Lee
They do if you use the nexus patch
Justin Martinez
bellowing gives a bigger boost for sorceries, even in pve - remember clutch shit doesn't work in pvp - and doesn't have drawbacks. Also, if you do invasions or sth, long range nukes like crystal soul spear are decent. Homing soul mass is good for getting space for ashen estus as well
Lucas Edwards
Fight clubs are a much, much, much smaller issue than you're making them out to be. At 125 you'll get one in maybe twenty five attempts and it takes all of sixty seconds to black crystal out and find a new world.
Brandon Ward
Thanks again, last question. Do Sorcerer's make the best Sorcerer's or are Knight's better. For some reason I'm thinking long ago that a lot of people said Knights
Nicholas Wood
Does being embered prioritize you for auto summons?
Joseph Cook
Depends on your stat spread, but generally you want to go Sorcerer.
Aiden Carter
Is normal Soulmass better than Crystal?
Robert Reyes
Dont forget about the GS of Judgement
Brayden Myers
no
Sebastian Foster
Kind of. Homing does less damage, but costs a lot less FP.
Noah Powell
That's good to hear then, thanks. Haven't done meta level shit in forever (only did pontiff duels at that level), so was a bit worried. Thanks.
Landon Reed
FP to damage wise yes
Bentley Foster
I didn't, honestly, I'm going to try both. I've never really played a Sorcerer in any of the Souls before, I've always been iffy on what weapons I should use. I was just going to use a infused Longsword or something.
Michael Ortiz
Sometimes when I attempt to invade, I am summoned as a blue/Aldritch depending on what covenant l have on. Why?
Also, why blessed weapons cannot be buffed?
Christopher Morgan
This is what I have so far, again, this is a very rough idea, I've never messed around with casters, so I'm open to any advice. I did have one question for long time Souls spellcasters, do you like the FP system or did you prefer what they did in previous games?
Caleb Allen
Moonlight greatsword, greatsword of judgement, and Heysel pick is great because it can combo with r1 directly into a soul greatsword r2. Steady chant also buffs both its casting and standard attack damage since it does magic damage, and to top it all off all of its moves are thrusts and it has poise when 2 handed as it is indeed a hammer.
Jaxson Gonzalez
So boys what's the Sl for swampo invasions? Whats the best early sl invasion spot?
Nathan Jenkins
shes literally us in video game form
Xavier Perez
try sticking Att at 24 or 30 for MLGS/GSoJ users
Logan Ramirez
You should drop Hidden Body and Cast Light, they're pretty useless. Great Farron Dart is good for pressuring in PVP as well. Also 60 Int is overrated, but good. You should consider dropping to 50 and getting more Vigor or something.
Alexander Lee
You retard, you didn't link the previous thread: Also, someone re-upload the Demon Prince boss fight.
Parker Murphy
...
Cameron Ward
Well if you don't want to do duels then why the everloving fuck you're both committing to a meta level that's mostly used for FCs AND also invading the most fc heavy area of the game.
Parker Reyes
Why would lowering my Att affect those swords? Those are just filler spells, stuff I might dick around with, I'll throw in GFD, thanks.
Juan Jackson
Hidden body and untrue white ring make you look like player ghosts. It's a lot of fun and people really do fall for it.
Hudson Robinson
Why did From make it so poise only exists as hyper armor?
Caleb Diaz
Because imagine poise stacked fast bleed weapons.
Jayden Collins
who is this waifu?
Hudson Thompson
Because they gave into whiny casuals. This is why DaS1 will always be the best PvP game.
Aiden Watson
At 34 you're 4 above the previous 'slot' level, you're better off sticking those 4 points into Vig. 24 is more my personal preference for MLGS builds, heed it no mind if you're more comfortable with 30
