saw an '85 yota van with 4wd on local classifieds for cheap, but they never got back at my email. fuckers.

1971 K5 Blazer with LS swap... $200,000.

Should I do it?

kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/red-deer/1254532802

i checked my email and they got back, should i check it out? 4wd, 5 speed, 300k km, $1000. 3Y engine maybe, idk muck about toyota engines.

sup fellow albertard

BCfag actually. Driving to Edmonton next week and was going to pick this up on my way back.

Anyone have any idea if a roadtrip in a YJ is feasible?

Not the best for wheeling but hell for $1000 it'll make a fun toy.

...

Who is mr crummy and why is he retarded

you can find a recent example of his retardation here

tldr tripfag

I like mr cummy

im' new but im guessing you have three groups at war or semi at war in these threads

people with trucks
people with suvs
people with jeeps

or are you guys all pretty chill, maybe the shitposting is only outside generals[?]

It's actually Mrcummy. No second "r". You're not the only one who's make that mistake

obviously mr cumy shitposting

fucking a there is an offroad park 30min from me

looks like a wrangler's in my future. now just to find a stick one and decide between TJ and JK.

Not the same route or vehicle but dan grec from theroadchoseme.com drove a fucking stock soft top tj from canada all the way down to argentina....

You will be fine.

Thanks for posting the new thread link in the old one, you fuckhead. Do I need to start ruining threads again? Because I will.

Here's my post to try and actually contribute .

you're a good poster, user

keep up the correctly directed anger

N /O T /A Y O T A S ???

Same answer as the last thread you asked it in you shitposting cunt.

I swear it's like off roading has exploded 10x more in the past 2 weeks and now every retard and their mom is asking hurr wat trug gud, hurr how do install lightbar. Did you fags see some dank new youtube blog and all get turned on to this at once?

Genuinely curious because these threads suck more shit than ever and it seems like you're diligently rolling up your sleeves and working to make them worse.

Thanks for the encouragement! Are you taynger?

No time to babysit. if it's past the bump limit then there's probably a new thread.

Honestly, the ARB/Currie industries valve remover type gauges are fantastic.
I had the set/forget Staun tyre deflators years and years ago, but I never really trusted them to maintain a consistent valve pressure.

I'm sure there's heaps of decent Chinese ARB copies on eBay.

If you're going to make generals, you should stop being a newfag and learn how they work.

I bet it's because summer's getting close

Who

Thought /org/ might appreciate my old man's toy.

Old Studebaker on Bronco frame, corvette engine, and a few other nice like touches

Any tips/mods for not getting stuck in the snow?
Just spent the last 3hrs stuck innawoods and would like to avoid that happenong again for the rest of my life.
First thing on list to buy is a front/rear winch, other than that I can only think of beefier tires/suspension.

god damn beut

It's a but rugged but fun as fuck. Garbage turn radios and the horn is on the floor. But you feel so epic driving it

I'd daily the shit out of that, and set it up with 12v everything for a trip up the Canning Stock Route.
Only thing it's missing in my eyes is an all mechanical diesel.

Of you were choosing a bumper for your vehicle would you choose one like this where it has a hitch in the front and back for attaching/detaching a winch or other recovery equipment

Or like this with a fuckhuge metal bumper and other shenanigans? I actually don't know what the proc and cons of either are and would love some insight

>quad bike winch on a Forester
lol

This one's gonna offer better protection including the headlights and entire grille, but it'll weigh far more and may decrease your approach angle if it sticks out very far. On the other hand if it's big enough it can actually house the winch on the inside of the bumper for protection.

I'm more worried about departure angles than anything really, I already managed to bend one of my fog lamps pretty bad coming down from a steep incline and smash my trailer hitch into the ground doing the same thing in reverse. I'm hoping a bumper like that and a lift kit will fix the problem but I am fairly new to this

Pic of the rear bumper

...

Thought those were neat for a long time.

Perfect, thank you. I'm nearly finished with my recovery gear, unless I upgrade and add recovery points to my vehicle

>ATV winch
What is that a 1500lb?

You don't want a winch that is almost rated pull your vehicle, you want a winch that is rated to pull at least 1.5x your vehicle, preferably 2x.

The entire point of a bumper like this is that you can bang it into stuff and not worry about it. It's there to protect the vehicle.

The entire concept of using a Forester for regular trail use is retarded anyway.

i'm a 4chanian what can i say

born in the furnaces of this website - /sp/, /int/, etc.

this website's based on hatred, memes, shitposting and cancer

i'll spare you guys if you're not like that tho.

beautiful

I'm not sure why he put that on his rig.
It's a trailer hitch, you can stick whatever winch in there you want. I'd like to think if I went that route I'd do something along the lines of rigging something like these two together.

As for the other one, I like the idea of it, I'm just worried about it fucking my already abysmal departure angle. Do you think it would really matter?

Just get a set of chains...its cheaper than lol winch. If you get a winch that means u have to go dual battery or risk killing your battery.

>if you get a winch that means u have to go dual battery or risk killing your battery.
This is factually incorrect. 95% of people I have rode and continue to trail ride with has used a single battery (most are stock) for innabush winching. And these are the same people who have the money to put their Rubicons on 37s riding around for 5+ years.

The only time you (((need))) a dual battery setup is if you are overlanding (which is rarely done by these suburban Jeep setups here)

>that fucking link
holy shit
>4wheelparts
Are you in Southern Onterrible?

If so, the store also has a trailer hitch mounted winch setup if you have the 4 prong connexion in the rear and wires up in the front. Rear recovery is a godsend when you need it. The plate is also cheaper than that Barrie thing you just posted.

Lower your tire pressure
Winch is good
Lockers are good
Beefy tires with a very aggresive/blocky pattern, aswell as a self-cleaning design and siping
Lower the weight of the vehicle

Leave the truck running when you winch. No need for dual battery just for winching.

>7k LBS winch
That's a 4500lb winch. The synthetic line is rated at 7700lb.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I just picked a random winch mount and 7k LBS winch to give you an idea of what I'm thinking about, the whole point is moot though if I don't choose that bumper.
I really like the idea of being able to pull the winch off and switch it between the front and back as needed, along as storing it at home when I don't need it

I've been to that 4wd store like 3 times and the Cabelas a bajillion times. Only the Cabelas is worth going to anymore since all these 4x4 stores are owned by people who are more specialised car salesmen.
... though they're the best ones in the province and aren't "truck accessory" stores that try to sell me front grills for $500 and light bars for like $300

Winch at full draw or "rated"?

Or whatever, I'm not looking at winches at the moment anyway in case I don't go that route. The big issue is the bumper, I dislike the OEM plastic one and want something practical that I can use my hi lift on if I need to, the winch is just a bonus.

went to see the yota van this morning. ad said 4wd, was only rwd... 300k km with no service records... had to nope the fuck out of that one.

who r u. how much did it cost?

holy shit that van is running bf goodrichs on 2wd

import a kei van

>>MrCummy is a retard Edition
what thread on Veeky Forums does not have that as an implied title?

no, that's just a random pic of the same kind of van. wanted an offroad capable travel vehicle so i responded to an ad for an 85 toyota van with (according to the ad) 4wd, 5 speed mt, $1000. was expecting a beater that would make a nice project. just saw a beater when i got there.

So some trails in Veeky Forumsnterrible have designations as actual roads. They turn from paved > gravel > dirt > mud ruts that are only indicated by a small yellow sign. I guess it's the season now when people are no longer afraid of s n o w r o l l i n g. As a result, there are a lot of stock full sized trucks, JKs, TJs, and the occasional sedan that gets lost on these paths.

Had to tow a Chevrolet Volt out yesterday which had no recovery points so we just hooked it onto the door hinges and dragged it out that way.

Anyway here are my fog light beam patterns.

Whoops. 5got to upload.

Here are hilights.

Here are fogs with spots angled down.

U mad?

you ready for 7/1 mrcummy

youtube.com/watch?v=R_RK_c4Ndwc

Nice those are some bright spots. What are you using and how did you mount them?
I imagine you didn't put foglights on your roof

What's that?

Also check out Trailhead automatic tire deflators.
These are what I use and they automatically stop when my set pressure is reached.
I've used several different types and these are my favorite.

lmao that's funny

got it

oops my bad was in mobile

now im just another random user

that uh. just seems like a waste of money, doe

kc 75w apollo drilled holes in my bumper and connected them that way

angel them all the way down for "legal" foglights. angel them slighty up (and turn off for oncoming traffic) for ridiculously bright driving lights. the constant turn-off / turn-on keeps you awake too. just don't fuck up

Those fogs are pretty pathetic for 75w. What bulbs do they take?

Those aren't my fog lights. those are my lights when dialed to the highest setting (not high beams). Not sure what you call those. The thing in between high beams and low beams.

See the picc below for the 75 KCs

aren't the 75w kcs illegal on paved roads? driving lights in my county (and all the ones beside me) are banned and need to be covered when on the road

I hate pot and I hate people that smoke it

Not him, but damn that's gay. I run KC Apollos every night on my way home from work, and police don't do shit. Pisses people off that I don't turn them off, but, fuck em.

why be a dick on purpose

Neat. Are there any vids of them in use?

He asked to an anonymous poster on Veeky Forums
Unironically

Right.
Post your KCs with timestamp.

Alright then. Are KC lights supposed to be a big deal or something?

Also, they're 100w KCs.

With the amount of bro trucks with LED bars and fuckheads running aftermarket HIDs in the area, I feel like I'm actually being modest rather than a dick.

Neat, how many lumens roughly? I didn't see them listed on the website

I just didn't think somebody would actually do this on a regular basis. It just is a really dickish thing especially with a "spot beam".

How the hell should I know?

I really used to care, I swear. But you get jaded when every asshole and his mom are running billion lumen light bars, or HIDs aimed at oncoming traffic. So I put on the KCs and aimed them at high beam height, and just ever so slightly wider. That way when they refuse to dim, I can still see where the fuck I'm going. Sucks, but the polite people are collateral damage.

>Sucks, but the polite people are collateral damage.
Wow. I didn't know you'd be able to make me empathise with you for running 100W fucking spotlights on the road.

Yeah, this is a unique situation.

Where do you live btw so I can avoid this?

>needs proof that someone has KCs

They're only one step above the cheapo ebay/autozone lights.

The US really needs to start vehicle inspections and fine people for improper headlight adjustment. It's getting ridiculous.

inspections vary by state but I don't know of anywhere that checks headlight alignment as part of the regular inspection.

I'm just saying man. I mean, I literally know a girl who thought that turning the headlight screw turned up the brightness.

Trust me, you're already avoiding it for plenty of unrelated reasons.

Just took my Grand Cherokee out for the first time at some easy trails yesterday, no grip at all.

What decent quality and priced All-Terrain tires do you guys recommend?
I doubt I could afford a full set, but my buddy owns a tire shop so I should get a reasonable discount. Say I wasn't going to buy a full set just right this second, should I put them on my rear or front? I'm getting conflicting information as the best placement for the time being. This is hypothetical IF I didn't buy 4, but 2 instead.

You probably just suck, unless your tires are bald, in which case you still suck. My first few times out I had lame ass all season garbage, on seriously fucked trails, and I did just fine, only using 4wd for a few seconds.
To answer your question, get a fucking job, replace tires in sets, not pairs.

I bet you wore seatbelts and had fucking all doors attached, fucking poser. Don't lie just to hang brody, I can tell you probably braked on all downhills like those pussy wrangler wannabes. I bet you went during the day too you weekend warrior fuckboi.

In case I didn't address it yet, for the user that keeps asking, the tires make a noticeable sound while driving but it's far from loud. This was on highway, all windows down, no stereo playing. With the radio up a bit I didn't even hear them.

when do we ban bright-ass blue headlights for non offroad-only vehicles
if another f150 makes me go half blind I'm gonna bigfoot a motherfucker

>when do we ban bright-ass blue headlights

Headlights with any tint of blue to them at all are already illegal on a federal level.

somebody needs to tell the faggot down my fucking street then.
like christ, I have 4 piaas in my bumper up front and new bulbs in the mains and this motherfucker still lights up the planet with bugzapper glow
