>What is the best emulator for...

Check out the wiki for the emulator you're using if you run into trouble, there may be a solution there too, often including recommendations for optimal game settings.

Remember to submit bug reports or shit won't get fixed.

emu devs who are autistic sperglords should be gassed

Emulation is still a meme.

You will never emulate a girlfriend.

Reminder that Raspberry Pi can do 240p over composite now.

how do you get cen64 to run expansion pack games? I don't see an option to enable it anywhere. Rogue Squadron won't boot up.

>composite
I don't- I can't- why would I want to use a thing like that?

I guess the pack isn't required for rogue squadron so I don't know why it won't boot.

anyone know how i can remove games from retroarch?
i accidently had two folders with the same content and now my n64 sections shows every game twice.
pic related

you can fix it by using project 64 2.3 which is a superior emulator for N64

im willing to sacrifice accurate emulation for convenience of unifying my library.

delete the lpl and scan again

thanks.

anyone know why I cant download wiiu isos from portalroms? ive tried it in chrome and firefox and neither work

Would anyone like to start a secure fund for the CEMU team to get BotW perfectly working. If they accomplish it they get the money.

nah. i need a reason to justify owning a switch.
if they can uncap the fps, i'll sell this thing tho.

why

so everyone on PC master race can enjoy it without having to get a fucking $400 console for one game?

>calls himself masterrace
>still plays nintendo games
kill yourself

It's one of PC's largest benefits, not being limited to one platform. I love video games, I don't just love PC games. Some of my favourite games are on consoles. I'm not some "PC is better than consoles" kiddy, they all have their benefits, emulation is one of PC's.

shit, shit, shit, shit,eh,shit, shit, shit and shit. You have shit taste in vidya.

What the fuck happened

Not without additional hardware, at least.

USE THE WIKI YOU FUCKING RETARD

We're gonna die unless somebody does something.
Quick - someone tell me about emulating controllers using a DS4.

Can anyone explain me why would anyone enable bilinear filtering?

it looks like smudged blurred crap

pic related, filtering OFF
very crisp

Some people don't like sharp pixels. Plus it's very handy when fullscreen doesn't scale 1:1.

I personally turn it off, but it has its purpose. Especially on smaller screens.

Can I softmod a Wii with a USB pen or do I need a SD card?

Needs an SD card. You can use one as small as 1gb though.

Ok, thanks.

Every homebrew app will run off the SD card though. A lot of them can access files on USB for loading, but the application itself will live on the SD.

I'll ask it again
How can I emulate VMU minigames?

....so all of them?

Demul might do it.

...

Fake and gay.
We get these every console release friendo.

I'm tempted to disassemble this just to find out what the fuck it is anyway.

There's nothing to disassemble you dumbass.
Go ahead and try to download it, see what happens.

Have you disassembled Rachel's corpse too?

How?
Don't see any option to load the VMU save

Try vms.exe (Visual Memory Simulator) from Makaron.
Here is some version of it:

theisozone.com/downloads/dreamcast/emulators/sega-visual-memory-simulator-usa/

>Fake and gay.
Oh shit, I thought it was totally real because it seems very legitimate.

I'm glad we have a smart person such as you here to warn us of dangers.

fuck off retard

discord.gg/aPkvDNJ

there is an /emugen/ discord, got a little people from /g/ in there atm.

join if you want, we're trying to set up some Retroarch multiplayer netplay nights some day.

>I was only pretending to be retarded

Great games user

>GTA IV
>Morrowind
>Mass Effect 3
shit taste

That needs VMU bios
Where can I find those?

Funny, boots right up for me. No expansion pack needed selecting, so you should just be able to leave Controllers -> Accessory blank. Also, don't forget to obtain a pifdata.bin file; that's required to run cen64 at all.

Use Google? Maybe someone dumped them.

Can't find anything

okay. my question remains unanswered
fix your shitty wiki

Just kill yourself instead then. Clearly you have already failed at life.

Thanks.

OK. How about this: you are asking the wrong question. Why do you want to download them from portalroms so bad when there are clearly better alternatives.

Finally found a working VMU emulator that also loads demul saves

Add this to the wiki

You're completely right about that though. The last time I tried to run WiiU games shit ran like ass and I remember portalroms being the site that worked for me. Sorry for the confusion

I just added a little note on the main dramcast page.

It's happening again!

Link is best Nintendo girl

i3-7350K or i5 4690k? Which one would give me the best performance for most emulators?

I believe the i3 has better single core performance. I'd rather pay the extra $ for the 7600k though.

To play emulators on your old CRT TV. Composite inputs are extremely common.

...

Theoretically i3-7350K should absolutely crush almost every other CPU in the market for emulator performance.
I say theoretically because there simply aren't enough tests for it to confirm this.

>I believe the i3 has better single core performance.
Yep, it got the best single core performance on passmark.

>I'd rather pay the extra $ for the 7600k though.
But it's twice the price user

Why are some people so anti-shader?

Some people act like CRT shaders are the only shaders that exist.

Dolphin and PCSX2 have the option for dual and triple cores though. Upcoming emulators are more likely to make use of more cores too.

Is a dual core enough even for Cemu?

Because everything else sucks

Really?

>Dolphin and PCSX2 have the option for dual and triple cores though
Dolphin doesn't

Cemu's site doesn't even list recommended CPU. Does it even use more than a single core?

It can do dual core, or did they take that out for 5?

yes

They are depreciating it now. They don't accept bug reports with it enabled and its disabled by default in the dev builds.

Fuckers.

As for CEMU, pretty sure it only uses one core.

BotW is an immersive sim tho.

>As for CEMU, pretty sure it only uses one core.
If that is true then an i3-7350K should perform well on it.

>But it's twice the price user
well if the price gap is that big for you, then the i3 isn't a bad choice. Sales tax ruins good sites for me, like newegg. So for me, i5 7600k is only about 56$ more.

I heard that Dolphin's multicore support was no good. You're certainly right about PCSX2 though.

I don't think it's realistic to expect it to remain that way forever.

Would a Celeron really get the same performance of a FX if single core is what matters?

I thought the same way about Dolphin but if that is any indication, multicore support is decades away.

I'm trying to play Fire Emblem Awakening on Citra. I'm currently running BE 42 because it still has geometry shading (otherwise stages would be unplayable).
Is there any custom build out there that can do better? I'm mostly looking for FPS locking.

I think RPCS3 makes good use of multicore and multithreading.

That is because the PS3 architecture makes use of multiple cores natively. Even then it depends entirely on the game being emulated.

I've been without internet for the past week and just read that BOTW was playable on CEMU. Does it run well? Are there any setup guides?

>just read that BOTW was playable on CEMU
You just got a one way ticket on the ruse cruise.

You need the patreon build of Cemu and from what I've heard, it runs at 5 fps.

Akane, please leave.

>You need the patreon build of Cemu and from what I've heard, it runs at 5 fps.
You should start reading instead of hearing then faggot because the Cemu devs themselves have said that it only goes ingame and is not in any playable state right now.

Well, I was clearly rused too.
That's what I get for believing you faggots.

>ps3 emu
man, I never expected any emulation of it out so soon. Then again, I just lurk from time to time.

It's still shit.

2 games, wow. It's also the most hands on emulator for trying to play games ever. If you thought per-game configs were bad, wait until you see the process involved in getting RPVS3 to actually load a game.

mudlord... had a hard life...
